CBS is looking to reopen Cold Case. A reboot of the crime procedural, which aired for seven seasons from 2003 to 2010, is currently in development at the Eye Network, our sister site Deadline reports.
Fifteen years after the original series ended, this new iteration would follow an entirely different group of detectives dedicated to investigating unsolved crimes. Though additional details are being kept under wraps, one confirmed change from the original series is its setting; the reboot would take place in the Southwest, whereas the original was set in Philadelphia.

The network is in negotiations with Warner Bros. TV for a reboot of Cold Case, which aired on CBS for seven seasons from 2003-2010, Deadline has learned. The followup comes from the series’ creator/executive producer Meredith Stiehm.
Set 15 years after the original series’ final episode, the untitled Cold Case reboot would follow a new team of tenacious detectives who investigate cold cases across the Southwest.

Oliver Stark, who stars as Buck in ABC’s “9-1-1,” is “humbled and overwhelmed” by fans’ positive reaction to the end of the show’s 100th episode, which featured a kiss between Buck and Tommy Kinard (Lou Ferrigno Jr.).
“Humbled and overwhelmed by the positive reaction to Buck’s storyline,” Stark wrote on his Instagram Story on Saturday. “I’ve read so many of your messages and I couldn’t be prouder.”
Stark also responded to the backlash surrounding the kiss, writing: “If you are one of the smaller group of people commenting on my posts about how this has ruined the show. I would like you to know that I truly don’t care. This is a show about love and inclusion. It’s featured queer relationships from the very beginning including a beautiful Black lesbian marriage played out by two of the best actresses [Aisha Hind and Tracie Thoms] I’ve ever watched.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the 9-1-1 Season 7 premiere “Abandon ‘Ships.”] Listen, if there’s one ‘ship we’re not ready to abandon, it’s Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby (Peter Krause), though they do have some things to work out in the 9-1-1 premiere. Fortunately, all is well for Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thoms), as well as Chimney (Kenneth Choi) and Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt)—though multiple people need to tell him that!—and we’re not at all attached to Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie’s (Ryan Guzman) love interests, which is a good thing in one case. Early on in the premiere, Buck tries to make plans with Eddie over the weekend, but the other man is busy chaperoning, with Marisol (Edy Ganem), his son Christopher’s (Gavin McHugh) first date. When Eddie suggests he invite Natalia (Annelise Cepero), Buck reveals, “We broke up. I don’t know why I thought ...

When 9-1-1 was canceled, our hearts sank.
Luckily, the cancellation came with a caveat: Fox's former flagship series was being picked up by rival network ABC.
It was a stunning decision that came after a booming 9-1-1 Season 6, which saw the series re-embracing many qualities that made it such a success from the onset.
At the time, Disney Television Group president Craig Erwich said:
"Thanks to the creative drive of Ryan Murphy, Brad Falchuk, and Tim Minear, as well as the talented cast, 9-1-1 has been one of the most defining and original dramas on network television over the last six seasons, and we are honored to bring it to the esteemed group of series on ABC."
When the last season wrapped up, all the principal characters were in a solid place, with the 118 even doing some bonding on the roof, memories of their most recent triumphs playing fresh on their minds.

John Oliver took a jab at Apple TV+ during the latest episode of his HBO show Last Week Tonight.
During a segment about the way Dollar Tree and Dollar General stores are run, Oliver brought up TikTok videos of retail employees complaining about the work conditions, including a staffer who was asked to reopen her store shortly after it had been robbed.
“An armed robbery is a traumatic event people need time to recover from,” Oliver said before delivering the punchline, “It’s not something you can just ignore like a spam call or a broken light bulb or any show on Apple TV.”
Oliver then asked his viewers, “Did you know Octavia Spencer starred as a true crime podcaster on a show called Truth Be Told for three seasons?”
“Of course you didn’t. It’s Apple TV, where celebrities go to hide,” he quipped.

Grindhouse is one of the most influential box office failures of the 21st century. Despite grossing a paltry $25.4 million at the box office on a budget of around $60 million, Robert Rodriguez and Quentin Tarantino’s 2007 love letter to exploitation cinema has managed to spawn four spin-off movies — Machete, Machete Kills, Hobo with a Shotgun, and now Thanksgiving— in addition to reintroducing a vintage aesthetic that has been mimicked by countless other throwback movies.
Rodriguez’s Planet Terror and Tarantino’s Death Proof each have their merits — the former plays like a satirical pastiche of nonstop action, while the latter is more indicative of genuine exploitation fare — but Grindhouse is more than just a double feature. It’s an experience, complete with faux aging to recreate the look of beat-up film prints along with vintage interstitials and retro-inspired trailers for nonexistent movies.

For a certain population of Hollywood, the now resolved WGA and ongoing SAG-AFTRA strikes have offered a silver lining: Downtime for personal refreshing.
“Some of my patients expected a resolution would come within a month or two, so they didn’t really feel financially strapped to be conservative with their spending,” says Beverly Hills- and San Diego-based dermatologist Dr. Tess Mauricio, who saw an increase in bookings for her Time Machine Procedure.
Actress Tracie Thoms (9-1-1, Rent) before, left, and after her Time Machine Procedure with Dr. Tess Mauricio.
A combination of advanced energy-based skin resurfacing, this $2,500 treatment, which requires up to five days of downtime, utilizes laser and radiofrequency, growth factors via platelet rich plasma and collagen induction therapy with micro-needling. “This can address all signs of skin aging including wrinkles, sagging skin, eye bags, droopy eyelids and large pores,” she adds.

Kerry Washington explains in her new memoir, “Thicker Than Water,” that she actively rejected playing the “white girl’s best friend” after starring in “Against the Ropes,” the 2004 boxing drama headlined by Meg Ryan and Omar Epps. The film starred Ryan as Jackie Kallen, the first woman to achieve success as a boxing manager. Washington played Jackie’s best friend, a receptionist named Renee.
“In it, I played [Meg Ryan’s] coworker and confidante – this was becoming a new niche for me, the white girl’s best friend,” Washington writes (via Entertainment Weekly).
As Washington remembers, “Against the Ropes” was her third project in a row where she was playing the best friend to the white female lead. First came 2001’s “Save the Last Dance,” in which was Julia Stiles’ Bff, then she shot the scrapped pilot for the 2004 Fox dramedy series “Wonderfalls,” where she was the best friend of Caroline Dhavernas’ main character.

Quentin Tarantino recruited star Rosario Dawson for his 2007 feature Death Proof. While filming, the actor saw a link between Death Proof and a former Brad Pitt movie that allowed her to realize an old fantasy.

Dawson was determined to star in Tarantino’s 2007 Grindhouse feature no matter what. Death Proof saw Kurt Russell playing a serial killer who murdered unsuspecting victims with his car. [Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for 9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 13, “Mixed Feelings.”] The latest 9-1-1 had so many moments that we loved: Chimney (Kenneth Choi) talking to Denny (Declan Pratt); Buck (Oliver Stark) and Eddie (Ryan Guzman) playing poker with some familiar faces to test out the former’s new cognitive abilities; Maddie (Jennifer Love Hewitt) and Chimney having Athena (Angela Bassett) and Bobby (Peter Krause) over for a dinner that should become a weekly event. But most importantly, Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thoms) found out their son has been spending time with his birth father Nathaniel (Troy Winbush) in the worst way possible. Denny nearly slips up about Nathaniel in the aforementioned conversation with Chimney about fathers. The kid takes from that discussion that the first responder did what he needed to for himself when it came to his own dad. Chimney’s bestie probably wouldn’t be 100 percent on board with that if she ...

Hen (Aisha Hinds) is in for a shock when she and Chimney (Kenneth Choi) are at the hospital on the job in the April 10 episode of 9-1-1. Hen’s wife Karen (Tracie Thoms) called to inform her that their son Denny (Declan Pratt) wasn’t on the bus; the drop-off was 20 minutes earlier. And no, it’s not just that they forgot to put an after-school thing on their calendar. Karen contacted his friends and learned “he hasn’t been taking the bus home from school in months.” So how has he been getting home? That’s when Chimney spots Denny walking into the hospital with a paramedic. Hen hurries over, hugs him, and tells Karen she has him. But what happened? Watch the sneak peek as the paramedic explains … and how Denny’s father (Troy Winbush’s Nathaniel) is involved. So far, Hen and Karen have no idea...

(This story contains spoilers from “9-11” Season 6, Episode 12, titled “Recovery”).
“9-1-1” found resolution to a major Season 6 cliffhanger in Monday’s all new episode, giving Peter Krause’s Bobby Nash a heroic showcase as he avenged the death of his sponsor.
In a storyline ripped from the headlines, Bobby and Athena (Angela Bassett) followed up on their investigation on a corrupt rehabilitation facility in Los Angeles, where they suspected foul play had led to the death of Bobby’s longtime sponsor and friend Wendell (Maurice J. Irvin). The episode followed as Bobby revisited key moments from his past with Wendell, while he worked on seeking justice for his friend’s death in the present day.
After connecting with a patient who had been involved with Wendell’s death, Bobby finds out that Wendell was helping her put a bug inside the facility to uncover the director’s malpractices. As they suspected in earlier episodes,...

Oliver Stark’s Buck may have survived being struck by lightning after the “9-1-1” winter premiere, but the aftermath of the incident will leave the beloved character forever changed.
Monday’s episode of the Fox first responder drama followed as the crew of Station 118 raced to take their friend and colleague to the hospital after facing the high voltage incident during an emergency call. Things looked grim for the fan-favorite firefighter as doctors put him in a medically induced coma to let his body heal from the injuries. The coma gave Buck the opportunity to examine some of his innermost struggles, with a dreamlike adventure that presented him with a version of reality where he never became a firefighter and his older brother Daniel never died.

“9-1-1” knows how to hook viewers after a long hiatus, and Monday’s winter premiere proved that not even fan-favorite characters are safe from the line of fire.
The Fox hit drama series returned with its first installment since November, featuring a brand new catastrophe hitting Los Angeles: a severe thunderstorm causing emergencies across the city for the Station 118 crew to help clean up. As the team juggles personal drama with responding to the various crises, the episode reaches a devastating climax when firefighter Evan “Buck” Buckley (Oliver Stark) is struck by lightning during a call. The intense hour ended as the rest of the team rushed to help the beloved first responder, getting him in an ambulance and attempting to restore his heartbeat.

[Warning: The below contains Major spoilers for the 9-1-1 Season 6 fall finale “Red Flag.”] For the most part, 9-1-1 leaves its first responders in relatively good places heading into a break until the spring. Buck (Oliver Stark) finds out the friends for whom he’s a sperm donor are having a baby. Hen (Aisha Hinds) and Karen (Tracie Thoms) navigate Denny asking about his biological mom (but don’t know he’s gone to see his biological dad!). However, Bobby’s (Peter Krause) sponsor dies, and the captain is now investigating the rehab facility near to where his body was found. “One of the challenges that we have in a fall finale is that there’s usually a time jump for the spring. We wanted to settle everybody and put them in a relatively good spot so that when we come back, we can kick things off. Bobby obviously has a very big thing that’s hanging out ...

As a vampire without American identification, you could say Francis (Noah Segan) is an illegal immigrant regardless of the fact he’s lived in the country longer than anyone else currently alive with a legitimate birth certificate. Why he chooses to drive through red states in his vintage Barracuda while confusing Alex Jones-loving, conspiracy-theorizing yokels with Yiddish is therefore a mystery. This is the solitary bachelor life he’s chosen, though. And perhaps that part of the country is simply better suited for a nomadic lifestyle demanding a sense of secrecy considering the trail of bodies Francis inevitably leaves in his wake (animal meat makes him bloated). There’s also no shortage of racist criminals no one will miss for him to kill. Happiness is an unnecessary luxury. Survival is paramount.

We've waited a long time for a Henren Begins type of episode, and the wait was worth it.
9-1-1 Season 6 Episode 6 is a beautiful ode to one of the series' best relationships and a lovely showcase for Aisha Hinds and Tracie Thoms, who do some incredible work here.
Hen and Karen have been to hell in back throughout their relationship, and here we got to see how they met and the little pieces along the way that we could only guess at. It's nice to now have a better picture of the couple who've captured our hearts over the years.
9-1-1 does an excellent job with flashbacks; they've become an integral part of the series. The most effective glimpses into a character's past will always be the ones that inform what's going on in the present day.

The 118 is springing into action after an explosion rocked Karen’s (Tracie Thoms) workplace in the final moments of last week’s Season 6 episode.
