You know Art the Clown? The friendly neighborhood clown who attends children’s parties and brings smiles to their faces? Yeah, well, that’s not the Art we’re talking about. Art the Clown is the horrifying villain of the Terrifier franchise by Damien Leone, and he will soon appear in the upcoming Terrifier 3 movie, which is set to be released later this year. Today, we have finally received the first image from the movie, showing Art, and information that the release date is coming earlier than initially planned, on October 11, 2024.
The Terrifier franchise is a modern horror franchise, and while it hasn’t (yet) become a proper mainstream title, it has a devoted following and is definitely among the more popular horror franchises of the modern age, which is why fans of the genre and the series as a whole are eagerly awaiting the new movie’s premiere.

Art the Clown is fast-becoming a new slasher icon. Though he's yet to star in a truly massive box office hit, his blood-drenched exploits in "Terrifier 2" went a long way towards building his reputation as the slasher killer of the modern age. Damien Leone, the creator of the franchise and director of the first two installments, has made a name for himself by going further than any Hollywood horror and depicting scenes of such utter depravity that audiences have reportedly struggled not to pass out.
2016's "Terrifier" went largely unnoticed, but is infamous among some horror fans for a scene in which one victim is strung upside down and essentially, shall we say, divided in two in a particularly unfortunate manner. "Terrifier 2" then arrived in 2022 with just as much, if not more ultra-violence, and proved to be almost too brutal for even seasoned horror fans. Despite the film's astonishing level of abject savagery,...

Daniel Roebuck has been cast as Santa Claus in Terrifier 3, Bloody Disgusting can exclusively report.
Writer-director Damien Leone is currently wrapping production on the highly-anticipated sequel, in which Art the Clown unleashes chaos on the unsuspecting residents of Miles County as they peacefully drift off to sleep on Christmas Eve.
“I’ve been holding this secret for a long time!” Roebuck tells Bloody Disgusting. “I’ve been really excited about it. I’m actually entering into the movies that I watch. It’s extraordinary. This is Terrifier bigger, badder, best.”
Roebuck appears in Terrifier 3 alongside returning cast members David Howard Thornton, Lauren Lavera, Samantha Scaffidi, Elliot Fullam, and Aew superstar Chris Jericho.
No stranger to iconic horror properties, Roebuck has squared off against Michael Myers in Rob Zombie’s Halloween II, played The Count in Zombie’s The Munsters, succumbed to The Tall Man’s sphere in Phantasm: Ravager,...

Since his brief appearance in the 2011 MCU film Thor, Hawkeye has become a staple member of the Avengers, featuring in nearly all of the team’s cinematic outings. Over the years, the character has undergone significant development, diverging from his initial portrayal in the MCU. The 2021 Disney+ series, which delved into the aftermath of Endgame, shed light on the toll his role as an Avenger has taken on him, addressing both mental and physical challenges, along with his use of a hearing aid.
Jeremy Renner as Hawkeye in the MCU
While the series depicted his hearing loss due to the frequent explosions he’s encountered as an Avenger, the comics offer a more harrowing and graphic account of how the superhero sustained this injury. With Marvel Studios now exploring R-rated content with projects like Deadpool 3 and Daredevil: Born Again, there’s an opportunity for the studio to pay homage...

Jenny Hagel is “obsessed” with giving people advice – whether people ask or not. “I’m sure it’s everybody’s least favorite thing about me, but I can’t stop,” she admits. “It’s like a facial tic, except in my personality.”
While this could be annoying in the hands of a lesser talent, Hagel happens to be a gifted comedian and writer with a talent for showmanship. Case in point, her Emmy-nominated work as a a writer and performer on “Late Night with Seth Meyers” where she is perhaps best known for a recurring segment called “Jokes Seth Can’t Tell” with her frequent collaborator Amber Ruffin. Because Ruffin is Black and Hagel is gay, they appear every so often to recite punchlines that are off-limits to the host. Real-life serial killer John Wayne Gacy has been the subject of a handful of horror movies over the years, played by Brian Dennehy in To Catch a Killer (1992), Mark Holton in Gacy (2003), and William Forsythe in Dear Mr. Gacy (2010). And then there’s 2010’s Dahmer vs. Gacy (yeah…) and the same year’s 8213: Gacy House, the latter a found footage horror movie.
Up next? Quiver Distribution is getting set to release brand new indie horror movie Gacy: Serial Killer Next Door later this month, and the official trailer has arrived this week.
In director Michael Feifer’s horror movie, “A teenager’s life in a quiet suburb changes drastically when John Wayne Gacy, a famed serial killer, becomes his neighbor. His curiosity leads to dark secrets and a frightening journey from innocence to a dire clash with evil.”

"Terrifier 2" might have been a surprise hit in 2022, proving too brutal for even some seasoned horror fans. But you'd never have expected such success based on the original movie. Released in 2016, "Terrifier" took director Damien Leone's psychotic slasher Art the Clown, previously the star of several short films, and built a whole movie around his gory exploits. Sadly, the result was less than impressive. As /Film's Chris Evangelista put it in his "Terrifier 2" review:
"The first "Terrifier" is what I'd call 'crap' [...] While I freely admit the film is loaded with some incredibly practical gore, the movie itself is little more than a plotless, storyless, valueless excuse to showcase that gore and not much else."
Luckily, Leone stepped up his game for "Terrifier 2," as evidenced by the much improved critical response, the $15 million it made on a $250,000 budget, and the fact we'll soon be getting the highly-anticipated "Terrifier 3.

More than any other genre in cinema, horror is notorious for never letting a franchise die. Horror movies can, generally speaking, be made on the cheap (especially compared to even a modest summer blockbuster) and the return on investment can be huge. That's why we've had 13 "Halloween" movies in 45 years. Inevitably, we're going to get a 14th movie and maybe even more, as we recently learned that a TV series set within the world of Michael Myers is in the works. If this goes according to plan, it will be the beginning of an entire "Halloween" universe. And at least one notable modern horror filmmaker believes that's probably not the right way to go.
/Film's own Jacob Hall recently spoke with "Terrifier" director Damien Leone in honor of the upcoming theatrical re-release of "Terrifier 2" next month. During the conversation, Leone mused about which classic horror character he might like to take a stab at,...

Damien Leone has proven himself to be a master of the modern slasher with Terrifier and last year’s Terrifier 2, and ahead of Terrifier 2 returning to theaters on November 1, Leone has expressed a desire to bring his particular brand of gory madness to another popular horror franchise from the past.
“I’ve been on record for quite some time now saying if I could ever remake one slasher film, it would be Friday the 13th,” Leone tells Slash Film in a new interview this week.
The filmmaker continues, “Jason was always my favorite slasher since I was a little kid, and I think that there’s a way to … I mean, my approach would be to keep it in the ’80s, honestly. I would have it take place in the early ’80s. I would try and make him as scary as possible because I feel like that’s...

Yesterday, we shared the news that the supernatural slasher sequel Terrifier 2 will be celebrating its one year anniversary by returning to theatres for a nationwide re-release on November 8th. But that’s not the only Terrifier 2 news there is. The movie is also receiving a Walmart-exclusive 4K steelbook release, and copies are available for pre-order at This Link! For an indie horror movie that went out into the world unrated, Terrifier 2 was a massive hit last year, earning $15.1 million at the box office on a budget of $250,000. Written and directed by Damien Leone, the film tells the following story: After being resurrected by a sinister entity, Art the Clown returns to Miles County where he must hunt down and destroy a teenage girl and her younger brother on Halloween night.

When Terrifier 2 was released in theaters, much of the conversation surrounding it was devoted to its gruesome practical effects, insane levels of violence and gore, and audience reactions that included vomiting and fainting on a level not reported since the release of The Exorcist nearly fifty years before. It was being sold as a movie that would test the mettle of even the most hardened horror fan, almost like a dare, and I was excited to take that challenge. When I settled into my seat a couple weeks later, I expected to be grossed out old school, to paraphrase Stephen King’s Twitter review of the film. What I did not expect was for memories of junior high confirmation and college religion classes to be awakened. I am no theologian, but I have read and studied the Bible throughout much of my life and familiarized myself with many of...

In early 2022, a reoccurring, annoying discourse was circulating Horror Twitter: “There are no original horror icons anymore.” In particular, these people were discussing slashers, and how bored they were of the just-about-to-be-released Scream and Ghostface, as well as Michael Myers, off the heels of Halloween Kills, released a few months prior. Fast forward to just over a year later, and this writer is hoping those Tweeters have since eaten their words.

A new cult favorite with a sequel that had viewers fainting in theaters is set to make a return to the big screen. "Terrifier," the 2016 slasher film by Damien Leone, will be clowning its way back to theaters this summer according to The Hollywood Reporter. The new release is planned as the widest yet for a movie that started off small, initially debuting at the Telluride Horror Show Film Festival before eventually earning a limited release in 2018. Now, though, the horrifying antics of Art The Clown will be on display for a wider audience than ever, as the film is set to hit 700 theaters in July.

"John Wick" is our greatest modern action franchise, but the movies have become more and more complicated as they have progressed, and some of the plot points in Chad Stahelski's "John Wick: Chapter 4" will only resonate with those who were taking notes in the last few chapters.
But the basics are all one really needs to follow the films: "John Wick" takes place in a fantasy universe where a measurable percentage of the human population are professional assassins. To accommodate them all, a complex underground society has formed, complete with its own bylaws and codes of honor. Assassins can gather in specially designated hotels where murder is off limits, and where they will be connected with sommeliers and tailors who will feed and dress them well, but also provide high-tech firearms and formal ware that is also bulletproof.

In a horror movie season dominated by Michael Myers ("Halloween Ends"), killer grimaces ("Smile"), and hellish Airbnbs ("Barbarian"), Art the Clown (David Howard Thornton) has earned a spot among the greats with "Terrifier 2." Earlier in the fall, the sequel to director Damien Leone's 2016 splatter flick received not only positive reviews but great word-of-mouth buzz that took Art from a genre curiosity to a full-blown pantomime slasher superstar. Its theatrical release garnered headlines about people who either fainted, vomited, or needed an ambulance called while watching it. The closest "Terrifier 2" came to actually making someone sick on set was Aew star Chris Jericho while devouring a disgusting plate of spooky gelatin.
It was those reports, in addition to the power of Leone's show-stopping practical effects, that turned "Terrifier 2" into a massive success for independent horror. A one-week theatrical...

"It" is one of Stephen King's most beloved novels. The horror story has terrified readers since it debuted in 1986. "It" features some of the most disturbing moments that King has ever created, and that's no small statement. While the story itself is horrifying, "It" explores the lasting impact of childhood trauma. The coming-of-age elements make "It" one of King's most heartfelt stories. Children and adults can feel inspired by seeing the Losers' Club overcome their fears.
Given the book's popularity, a film adaptation was nearly guaranteed. "It" was first adapted as a two-part miniseries in 1990, starring Tim Curry as Pennywise the Clown. The first episode showed the youthful adventures of the Losers' Club, and the second episode flashed forward to their time as adults. While there is a lot of nostalgia for the 1990 "It," the miniseries doesn't quite capture all the nuances that made the novel so beloved.

Exclusive: Genre streaming platform Screambox have partnered with horror media brand Bloody Disgusting to acquire all North American rights to completed horror pic Terrifier 2.
The “ultra-gory slasher” will be released stateside this Halloween season before streaming exclusively on the Bloody Disgusting-powered Screambox. We also hear the film will play at multiple prominent genre festivals this year.
From writer-director Damien Leone (All Hallows’ Eve), the sequel welcomes back David Howard Thornton as demonic killer Art the Clown. Following his gruesome demise in the first film, a sinister presence has brought Art back to life to rein terror on the residents of Miles County. On Halloween night, he returns to the unassuming town and sets his sights on fresh prey: a teenage girl and her little brother.
The movie introduces Lauren Lavera as Sienna. Also returning is Samantha Scaffidi who will reprise her role as Victoria Heyes. Horror staple Felissa Rose (Sleepaway Camp) also makes an appearance.
