Jenna Ortega might be ready to reunite with Tim Burton on his next project as sources confirm to Deadline that Ortega is in early talks to reunite with the Wednesday creator on Beetlejuice 2 at Warner Bros. Insiders add that Michael Keaton and Winona Ryder are expected to reprise their roles with Burton directing.
Production is hoping for a late May or early June shoot in London, but budget has not been set, resulting in a back and forth. If a deal is made, sources say Ortega would play the daughter of Lydia, the character played by Winona Ryder in the Burton-helmed original.
Alec Baldwin, Geena Davis, Jeffrey Jones and Catherine O’Hara also starred in the original film, which grossed $80 million on a $15 million budget. It also scored a Best Makeup Oscar at the 1989 Academy Awards.
Ortega has been on a roll as of late, led by her record-breaking Addams Family series Wednesday.

Last year, Amazon closed an $8.5 billion acquisition of the film studio MGM, giving them ownership of the studio’s thousands of films and TV shows. Now they need to figure out what to do with all of the properties they own… and in the latest episode of the podcast The Hot Mic, hosted by writer/critic John Rocha and writer/critic/reporter Jeff Sneider, Sneider revealed the six MGM properties that Amazon is most interested in doing something with. These are their top priorities: Stargate, The Thomas Crown Affair, Legally Blonde, Rocky, Poltergeist, and RoboCop.
It’s not surprising to hear that Amazon wants to keep Stargate going, as that franchise already consists of a few films and many seasons of television. Michael B. Jordan has been attached to a new version of The Thomas Crown Affair for a while and Reese Witherspoon is on board to come back for a Legally Blonde 3,...

We are now nearly ten years removed from the most recent installment in the Poltergeist franchise, with the Gil Kenan-directed remake released way back in 2015. That film failed to make a splash of any kind, coming along in the wake of two sequels and a 4-season TV series.
So what’s going on with the Poltergeist franchise? Amazon, you may recall, recently acquired MGM, and it looks like Amazon is interested in bringing the horror franchise back to life.
During this week’s episode of The Hot Mic, co-hosted by John Rocha, reliable entertainment journalist Jeff Sneider shared what he has heard about Amazon’s plans for Poltergeist, naming the franchise as one of several MGM properties that Amazon is looking to “prioritize.”
Sneider notes that the Poltergeist situation is “complicated by the fact that Spielberg would likely need to be involved.” Spielberg of course produced the original 1982 horror classic.

Wrangle up a bear, give it a little coke and what do you get? Don’t overthink it: it’s Cocaine Bear! Early praise from this week’s screening of the action-comedy are high–no, not that kind of high…
Most of the reactions focus on just how fun Cocaine Bear is, which is great to hear considering that’s what the trailer promised. Our own critic called it “pure entertainment” and a “ninety minute blast of adrenaline”, while most everyone else seems to agree that the movie is just the sort of ride something called Cocaine Bear should be.
Check out some of the reactions below:
#CocaineBear is a wild ride. A ninety minute blast of adrenaline. Pure entertainment with a killer soundtrack. Alden Ehrenreich, @MargoMartindale (in Bojack mode) @OsheaJacksonJr and the great @IsiahWhitlockJr are standouts. A ton of fun expertly directed by @ElizabethBanks

AMC Theaters is currently facing a lot of negative reactions as they join Netflix and Warner Bros. Discovery in the conglomerate brotherhood of questionable business decisions. The movie theater chain announced yesterday that they would be implementing a new system in which ticket prices would vary according to the seat you choose. Variety now reports that Lord of the Rings star, Elijah Wood has taken to his social media to call out the theater company.
The Yellowjacket star, posts on his Twitter, stating, “The movie theater is and always has been a sacred democratic space for all. This new initiative by AMC Theatres would essentially penalize people for lower-income and reward for higher income.” YouTube Film Critic, John Rocha, adds his own words to the parade of reactions, “Look, this is some classist shit. IMAX, 4Dx, 3D, Screen X charging more makes sense since you’re getting the film in a new way.

AMC Theatres is facing backlash after announcing its new Sightline initiative, which changes ticket pricing based on seat location within the auditorium. “The Lord of the Rings” actor Elijah Wood is already one of the initiative’s most vocal detractors, taking to social media to condemn the decision for potentially hurting moviegoers with lower incomes.
“The movie theater is and always has been a sacred democratic space for all,” Wood wrote. “This new initiative by AMC Theatres would essentially penalize people for lower income and reward for higher income.”
Wood, who can next been seen on Showtime’s “Yellowjackets” Season 2, was joined by many others in criticizing AMC Theatres, the largest exhibition chain in the U.S. “Look, this is some classist shit,” wrote YouTube film critic John Rocha. “IMAX, 4Dx, 3D, Screen X charging more makes sense since you’re getting the film in a new way. Ivanka Trump was called out on social media after she cropped Kimberly Guilfoyle out of a picture from her sister Tiffany’s wedding this weekend.
The photo she shared on Twitter and Instagram shows the maid of honor Ivanka and the bride posing with Melania Trump, Lara Trump and Tiffany’s mother, Marla Maples. She tweeted the photo wishing Tiffany “an abundance of happiness and joy” in their new marriage.
In Memoriam 2022: 100 Great Celebrities Who Died This Year!
Another version of the photo circulated on social media showing that Don Jr.’s fiancee, Guilfoyle, had been cropped out of Ivanka’s post. Guilfoyle appears at the end, wearing black, contrasted against the other women who donned pastels, save for Lara in silver and the bride in white.
One of the funniest things I have seen in a long time… @IvankaTrump cropped @kimguilfoyle out of her Instagram post from Tiffany Trump’s wedding.

Update: After claiming two weeks ago that Harrison Ford was Marvel’s top choice to replace William Hurt as Thaddeus “Thunderbolt” Ross, Jeff Sneider said on the latest episode of The Hot Mic that Ford has actually been cast in the role. Not only that, but Sneider says that Ford’s first appearance as the character is expected to take place in Captain America: New World Order. If it’s true, we should hear something official before too long.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe has not lacked for star power ever since Robert Downey, Jr. helped kickstart the franchise back in 2008 with "Iron Man" and subsequently opened the door for practically every movie star under the sun to want to get in on the action. Fast-forward almost 15 years later and Kevin Feige might have just pulled off the biggest coup since ascending to the Marvel head honcho gig.
We've known since this year's San Diego Comic-Con that a "Thunderbolts" movie would officially bring Phase 5 to a close, confirming previous reports that the comic book team-up extravaganza was in active development with the studio. Based on traditional depictions of the team in the comics, fans safely expected a roster made up of characters such as Florence Pugh's Yelena Belova, Wyatt Russell's U.S. Agent, Olga Kurylenko's Taskmaster, Hannah John-Kamen's Ghost, and more. Many also assumed that Thaddeus...

It was a starry night at the 5th Asian Awards courtesy of some of the biggest talents on the planet, who were recognised for setting an unprecedented standard of excellence in their fields of endeavour.
Celebrating Asian success across all walks of life, the event saw the best of stage, screen, sport, music and industry, converge on the lavish setting of the Grosvenor House Hotel, for a night of highly merited back-slapping and champagne-swilling.
Of course, all eyes were on the two star attractions whose rise to fame has been nothing less than stratospheric. Bollywood superstar Shah Rukh Khan flew in to personally collect his award, while ex-One Direction bandmate Zayn Malik made his first public appearance since the now infamous split that left Directioners around the world in a state of mourning.

It's day two of the London shows; the rain has stopped, the sun has come out…and the gale force winds have arrived. Sigh. The weather gods may not be on our side, but that hasn't dampened our spirits. No, not at all! Today London cranked the fashion dial up a notch, and there were big brands, big celebs, and in one case, a big shoe-meets-dress fiasco. The day started off in the safe and steady hands of Jasper Conran (one of Lfw's founding designers). As we've come to expect, it was a tight and wearable collection. After lunch it was the turn of another Lfw stalwart, John Rocha. True to form his mainly monochrome collection featured voluminous skirts, clunky shoes and theatrical tulle...

Mark Shand and Ruth Powys next to Jack Vettriano's elephant. Sir Edwin Henry Landseer, sculptor of the Trafalgar Square lions, would’ve been quivering in his grave yesterday as baby elephants threatened to upstage his great kings of the London jungle. The life-size model herd was led by Mark Shand, trustee of Elephant Family, a charity that helps safeguard Asian elephants and enables a more harmonious environment between man and creature. The charity commissioned an impressive array of talent to produce 260 hand-painted elephant artworks that have now taken up residence all over London. Among the creators were artists Mark Quinn, Jack Vettriano, and Sacha Jafri; designers Julien MacDonald, Diane von Furstenberg, John Rocha, Alice Temperley, Lulu Guinness, Nina Campbell, and Nicky Haslam; and iconic photographer Peter Beard.

Designer Henry Holland is reportedly in talks to design for the British retail chain Debenhams. The department store, which is driving sales from its own-brand ranges, wants Holland to join the Designers range.
If the reports turn out true, the Brit fashion designer would join the likes of Julien Macdonald, Jasper Conran and John Rocha.
A Debenhams spokesman told The Sun, "We have had a couple of meetings but it's very early days. Nothing is signed on the dotted line yet."
Debenhams hopes to attract a younger audience by roping in Holland as their designer. The move to hire Holland will also enable the retail chain to compete with the likes of the hugely popular Topshop brand, Drapers online reports.
