Jânio Quadros was born on January 25, 1917 in Campo Grande, Mato Grosso do Sul, Brazil. He was married to Eloá Quadros. He died on February 16, 1992 in São Paulo, SP, Brazil.
Elected president of Brazil in 1960, resigned 7 months after taking
office in order to acquire some popular support, bringing the worst
crisis to the country, which culminated in the coup-d'état in 1964 and
20 years or military dictatorship.
Was governor of São Paulo state (1955-1959) and twice mayor of São
Paulo city (1953-1955 and 1986-1989).
