Despite taking a civil tone in a press release issued that summer, she came firing back in 2023 with a tabloid-ready diss track, detailing their breakup (and Piqué’s infidelity) in excruciating detail: the electro-pop atomic bomb “Bzrp Music Sessions #53,”recorded...

Daddy Yankee knows what it takes for a Latin song to break the charts. And when Myke Towers showed him his new song “Ulala,” which dropped on Thanksgiving, Yankee understood its “global hit” potential.
While working with the same producers on their albums, Towers — who was featured on Legendaddy‘s “Pasatiempo” — decided to show the reggaetón legend his tropical-tinged pop song to see what he would think.
“[My producers] Play-n-Skillz were working on Daddy Yankee’s album at the same time as they were working on mine, so in one of these back-and-forth phone tags,...

For Steve Aoki, combining his Vegas-ready sounds with Guaynaa’s reggaetón began as a “battle.” On Thursday, the duo premiered the video for their collaboration with Rolling Stone.
“We start out with reggaeton vibes and then we would battle it with some Edm and change the beats per minute tempo,” Aoki tells Rolling Stone. “It’s a fun and light-hearted song and that’s Guaynaa for you. Guaynaa just loves to play with words and have fun with it, so that’s exactly what he did.”

As soon as Alex Guerra and Ramon Ruiz discovered 15-year-old Yahritza Martinez on TikTok, they knew she was going to be huge. The high schooler from Yakima, Washington, had been courting a massive following on social media with her shockingly powerful voice, and Ruiz and Guerra — both artists from the seminal Mexican band Legado 7 and founders of the label Lumbre Music — quickly signed her and her two brothers, Armando and Jairo Martinez, forming the band Yahritza y Su Esencia. Still, no one could have predicted the seismic wave caused by the band’s first single,...

The guitar strums and soothing bajoloche open Yahritza Y Su Esencia’s “Siendo Sincero” like a modern corrido — which makes sense, as the song is a cover of Los Del Limit’s hit. But the intro doesn’t prepare you for the voice of Yahritza Martinez.
“Cómo les explico lo que pasó? Es que usted me enaomoró,” she sings earnestly, and in a lower octave. (“How can I explain what happened? It’s that you made me fall in love with you.”) “Es que cuando hacíamos el amor,” she sings,...

Mariah Angeliq isn’t letting just anyone be her future novio. On Tuesday, Sebastián Yatra released the silly storyline video for his song “Si Me La Haces” and it follows him and Lenny Tavarez as they submit boyfriend applications — and jump through quite a few hoops — to sway Angeliq to give them a chance.

It took three years for music to return to Indio’s Empire Polo Club. But Covid seemed to be an afterthought this past weekend as fans flocked to each Coachella stage, mostly unmasked. Overall, the fest’s 2022 edition served as an exciting three-day celebration of live music’s resurgence, with Harry Styles, Billie Eilish, and Swedish House Mafia alongside the Weeknd topping the bill. (Kanye West’s last-minute drop-off went seemingly unnoticed.)
History was made throughout the weekend, as Eilish became the youngest headliner in history, and Pabllo Vittar the first drag queen to perform.

Natanael Cano was barely 18 when he became one of the most prominent figures in the corridos tumbados movement. His style of prickly, guitar-driven Mexican balladry mixed elements of rap and trap, and when Cano shot out of the gate in 2019, he was known as a wunderkind who inspired the biggest Latin stars to experiment with the sound. Bad Bunny jumped on a remix of Cano’s popular hit “Soy El Diablo,” and Eladio Carrion asked Cano to drop a few bars on an updated version of his song “Ele Uve.
