Updated: An 8-year-old boy was the sixth person to die as a result from injuries sustained when a driver plowed an SUV through a crowd gathered to watch a holiday parade. The boy’s death was confirmed by both local and national media.
The suspect in the case, Darrell E. Brooks, 39, appeared in court today to face five counts of first-degree intentional homicide. According to CNN, prosecutors “will consider a sixth homicide charge, due to the child’s death.” Brooks’ bail was set at $5 million.
Previously on Nov. 22: Waukesha police have identified the suspected driver in last night’s horrific incident at a Christmas parade that has left five people dead and dozens injured. The person of interest has been identified as Darrell Brooks Jr., a 39-year-old Milwaukee man who authorities say had been involved in a domestic violence incident just prior to the parade.
