Making its inaugural visit to the Cannes Market, Cinema do Brasil, the newly launched joint venture program from SICESP, APEX-Brasil and Brazil's Ministry of Culture, announced a number of sales. Brazil's Rain Network, which transmits films digitally to theaters, entered into an agreement with the Puerto Rican Film Corp., which will provide private theaters in Puerto Rico access to a library of 120 Brazilian features. Brazil's Boca a Boca Filmes and Total Filmes struck a multi-nation co-production agreement with Japan's AMG Entertainment, France's Gloria Films and Portugal's Fado Filmes. The companies will team to produce a music documentary feature titled Guardioes do Samba (Guardians of Samba), to be directed by Lais Bodansky. Producers are Eric Belhassen, Laurent Lavole, Isabelle Pragier, Aki Sugihara and Iafa Britz.
