With Kenna Scott, Lorenzo Lamas has probably found his soul mate. The Falcon Crest actor had dated multiple women, five of whom he wedded before crossing paths with Scott. A serial divorcee, the American actor’s first marriage was to his Falcon Crest girlfriend, actress Victoria Hilbert. They rushed in and out of the marriage as they wedded in October 1981 and separated the following year. Upon finalizing their divorce in May 1983, Lamas wedded another actress, the late Michelle Smith. The marriage ended in December 1985 and then the actor married yet another actress, Kathleen Kinmont. Lamas and Kinmot’s marriage lasted from 1989

We don’t often cover documentaries here, but once in a while a film will cross our paths that it makes sense to discuss. A new film directed by Steve J. Adams and Sean Horlor definitely fits that bill. An exploration of the 80s Satanic Panic in the US and Canada with the jumping off point of the wildly influential memoir, Michelle Remembers, Satan Wants You is both a chilling reminder of the era in which these stories were mainstream news and a warning that those who forget history are doomed to repeat it. Michelle Remembers was co-written by Michelle Smith and Dr. Lawrence Pazder. It relays in gruesome detail Smith’s alleged ritual abuse at the hands of a Satanic coven in the early 60s. Smith...

Moral panics have been with us as a species since time immemorial. From the persecution of European pagans at the end of the Roman empire in the Fourth Century, to the Salem witch trials in New England in the 17th Century. Blame Canada, if you will, for the spark that lit the Satanic Panic fire in the early 1980s, the first great moral panic to be spread through television and daytime talk shows. That spark was a best selling book written by Michelle Smith and Lawrence Pazder called Michelle Remembers, a lurid and sensational account of a year of psychotherapy sessions involving “recovered-memory therapy” (a technique that has since been scientifically discredited), in which Michelle recalled and recounted an escalating series of mutilations and...

Satan Wants You
If you are much over 40, the chances are that you will remember the great Satanic Panic of the 1980s. Even if you’re younger, the chances are that you’ve seen references to it in popular culture, including films. What you may not be aware of is the book which started it. Moral panics like this always involve multiple triggers, but Michelle Remembers, by Lawrence Pazder and Michelle Smith, had a massive, worldwide impact, persuading all sorts of otherwise sensible people that, without leaving any physical evidence behind them whatsoever, secret Satanist cults were sacrificing vast numbers of children.
Steve J Adams and Sean Horlor’s new documentary, Satan Wants You, examines the impact of this book and reveals some shocking things about the story behind it. When it screened as part of the Fantasia International Film Festival, I took the opportunity to meet with the two directors and learned that.

In addition to the Adams Family’s Where the Devil Roams, Tubi has also picked up the SXSW documentary Satan Wants You, both acquisitions announced by Variety this afternoon.
Satan Wants You will debut exclusively on Tubi this coming Winter.
The documentary from writers and directors Sean Horlor and Steve J. Adams explores the infamous “Satanic Panic” wave of the 1980s.
Satan Wants You tells the untold story of how the Satanic Panic of the 1980s was ignited by “Michelle Remembers,” a lurid memoir by psychiatrist Larry Pazder and his patient Michelle Smith. Supported by the Catholic Church, the bestselling book relied on recovered-memory therapy to uncover Michelle’s childhood abduction by baby-stealing Satanists.
Amplified by law enforcement and America’s Daytime TV boom, satanic rumors spread through panic-stricken communities across the world, leaving a wave of destruction and wrongful convictions in their wake. This film digs deep into the...

Fox Corp.’s Tubi, its free, ad-supported streaming TV service, has pounced on two high-profile Fantasia titles, led by “Where the Devil Roams,” the Adams family’s follow-up to “Hellbender,” Rotten Tomatoes No. 1 movie on its Top 10 of best-rated horror films of 2022, just besting Eskil Vogt’s “The Innocents.”
Estimating that it reaches 64 million monthly active users, Tubi also pounced on doc feature “Satan Wants You,” which world premiered at March’s SXSW. Both Fantasia titles will have their exclusive streaming premieres on Tubi this winter.
Written and directed by daughter Zelda Adams, father John Adams and mother Toby Poser at their Wonder Wheel Productions, “Where the Devil Roams,” the Adams seventh feature, marks yet another a step-up in scale for the family of filmmakers who first broke out hitting Fantasia in 2019, world premiering “The Deeper You Dig” Zelda, not yet 18, was too young to watch herself.

In the 1980s, Satan was everywhere. Heavy metal, horror movies, D&d, and right next door. The Satanic Panic was a cultural wave of terror that ripped across North America and infected just about everything. The fear - not even fear - the Knowledge that Satanic cults were rooted in our own communities and were working their Devil magic was embedded into the reality of every quiet berg, every worried mother, every family man. Devil worshippers were among us in ways we never even suspected and everyone was in danger - especially the children.
It’s a well-known phenomena, one that spread through fear, paranoia and a complete lack of factual evidence. Perhaps less well-known is how it got started. What launched the Satanic Panic? Where did these wild stories come from? How were they able to permeate the zeitgeist and take root in the minds of so many people? The...

The Chattanooga Film Festival Conjures First Wave: "Hot on the haunted heels of their tenth-anniversary announcement, organizers of The Chattanooga Film Festival (Cff) have once assembled a first wave of strange and fantastic cinema for their hybrid edition this year.
First up is the North American premiere of a film primed to knock the socks off Cff’s longtime fans - filmmaker Jonas Trukanas‘ perfectly executed Lithuanian slasher We Might Hurt Each Other. Trukanas' briskly paced hoot of a horror film is one of this year’s true standouts and another title presented by Screambox. We Might Hurt Each Other has all the makings of a deeply satisfying cult classic.
Closing out the festival for those attending in person this year is Trim Season, marking the return of filmmaker Ariel Vida, who first attended Cff in 2019 with a secret screening of Vide Noir. Her latest combines a terrific ensemble cast,...

Welcome back to the Weekend Warrior, your weekly look at the new movies hitting theaters this weekend, as well as other cool events and things to check out.
This Past Weekend:
It wasn’t a bad Thanksgiving weekend, especially for the Weekend Warrior who pretty much nailed two of his predictions for the weekend! Disney Animation’s Moana indeed at opened at #1 with $55.5 million for the three-day weekend (exactly my prediction), although it ended up with more--$81.1 million--in its first five days. The Brad Pitt-Marion Cotillard spy thriller, Allied (Paramount), directed by Robert Zemeckis, also opened with $18 million, right on track with my prediction. I guess I could take some comfort on being spot on with two of the Thanksgiving releases—like I said last week, that holiday weekend is a bear to predict—but I way overestimated the other two movies as sequelitis indeed hit Billy Bob Thornton...

Bar’s hot pink lips were gorgeous and I was so excited to see the same look on models at the Milly by Michelle Smith fashion show!
Romy Soleimani of the Mac Pro Team tells You how to transform the intense hot pink lip look so that it’s appropriate for work or casual daytime events. The secret is all in the gloss!
For the runway models, Romy applied a mixture of Mac Fuchsia and White Pro Lipmix, but to try the look at home, you can choose your favorite hot pink shade.
“I think that you could do a sheer version of that lip easily,” says Romy. “Mix [your pink color] with clear gloss … for the day and at night I think you could totally rock it with a smokey eye, or nothing — just lots of lashes if you’re wearing all black. Why not?”
Romy’s trick is so simply and easy to do!

It seems each fashion week season the inspiration keeps coming from farther and farther back in time, and now we have reached the swinging 60s!
The vintage trend began with a dive back into the 80s with skinny jeans, and should pads in everything. Then it was off to the 70s with super flared bell bottoms and fringed vests. And now the fashion world has landed in the 60′s and let’s say the decade is looking better than ever!Diane Von Furstenberg first debuted a 60′s inspired collection with low-waisted silhouettes, boxy jumpsuits and trousers, and bold printed sweater vests. She even had her models wearing square brimmed glasses and pinned their hair in a beehive!
Milly by Michelle Smith had her models walk the runway in geometric prints, color-blocked coats, and colorful pumps. She also completed her collection with cat eye sunglasses and icy pink lips!

Spring. It’s long overdue and so is spring fashion. While winter clothes inspired by trends of 2010 fall collections are still prevalent, stores are piling up with spring lines that were on runways during September. Two attention grabbing trends in women’s fashion this upcoming season are prints and turbans, empathised in hit 1988 comedy Coming to America (directed by John Landis).
U.S. Vogue currently features seven designers with their 2011 Spring/Summer Ready-to-Wear collections, referring to them as the “American All-Stars” of New York fashion in a spread entitled ‘Gangs of New York’. Rodarte, by Kate and Laura Mulleavey, who have made Vogue’s top ten season after season, are among the seven lines included. Photographed by Mario Testino and styled by fashion editor and creative director Grace Coddington, this spread (below) captured what was “distinctly American” about these collections.
