Eminem, whose 2000 song “Stan” coined the term for fanatical and sometimes delusional superfans, is co-producing a documentary on the phenomenon via his Shady Films, in association with Diga Studios and Hill District Media, with initial distribution from Paramount/MTV.
The film, directed by Steven Leckart, is slated for release later this year.
According to the synopsis, the film — with the working title “Stans” — is a “revealing, edgy, and disarmingly personal journey into the world of superfandom, told through the lens of one of the world’s most iconic and enduring artists, Eminem, and the fans that worship him.”
Shady Films’ Paul Rosenberg (Eminem’s longtime manager) and Stuart Parr say, “’Stans’ will be the opportunity for us to to turn the camera around and ask the audience about being fans — and in some cases, fanatics. This is a study of the relationship between fanbase and artist through the lens of...

It's been 13 years since horror master John Carpenter has blessed the world with a new directorial project, but the icon behind movies like "Halloween," "Escape From New York," and "The Thing" is finally returning to our screens this autumn — with a documentary-like TV horror series. "John Carpenter's Suburban Screams" will feature six nerve-shredding true stories retold by those who experienced them, and will couple the testimony with dramatic (and decidedly scary-looking) visual retellings of the story. The show is also set to include archival footage and news clips.
Carpenter is only set to direct one of the six episodes of "Suburban Screams," but he's involved in the project in other ways, lending his considerable talents as a composer to its soundtrack and executive producing the Peacock project. The show sounds like it will meet at the intersection of reality and horror movie sensibilities, which could be the perfect recipe for some great scares.

Exclusive: Wrestler Brandi Rhodes has been hosting cooking show Shot of Brandi on YouTube for the last four years. Now, she’s looking to step up to television and has partnered with Scream and Teen Wolf producer Diga Studios to achieve that.
Rhodes and Diga are looking to turn the project, which sees her cook and chat with celebrities and in and out of the wrestling ring, into a half-hour television series. Diga is currently taking the project out to broadcasters and streamers.
It comes as Rhodes and her husband Cody Rhodes recently left the All Elite Wresling league (Aew), which airs on TBS. The pair were also the stars of TNT reality series Rhodes To The Top.
Rhodes was also previously a ring announcer and backstage host for WWE and appeared on Wags Atlanta.
It is the latest non-scripted series for Diga Studios, the company run by former MTV programming chief Tony Disanto.

Need another fantasy real-estate show packed with mansions and melodrama? Of course you do, and Netflix’s “Million Dollar Beach House” is happy to deliver.
On Wednesday, the streaming giant released the trailer for its “Selling Sunset”-East-esque series, which kind of has an underselling title considering the actual price tags of beach houses in the Hamptons. We’re not even sure you could get a mobile home in Montauk for that kind of money.
Guess we’ll find that out over the course of Season 1’s six episodes, which premiere Aug. 26 on Netflix.

The long-gestating third season of the “Scream” series is finally debuting–but not on its original network.
Variety has confirmed that the series will air on VH1 instead of MTV as originally planned. “Scream” will debut on VH1 on July 8 and air two one-hour episodes back-to-back for three straight nights.
The third season of the series based on the horror movie franchise of the same name was first announced in 2016. Since then, both VH1 and MTV have largely moved away from scripted programming.
This marks the latest instance of Viacom shuffling properties around its cable portfolio. Most recently it was announced that Tracy Oliver’s “First Wives Club” series would find its fourth home on the upcoming streaming service Bet+ after having previously been set up at TV Land, Paramount Network, and Bet.
Season 3 revolves around Deion Elliot (Rj Cyler), a local star running back whose tragic past comes back...

Scream Season 3 is finally arriving... except as an event series on VH1, rather than former home MTV.
Scream Season 3 if actually going to make air!
Fans of the TV series adaptation for the meta-minded bellwether horror movie franchise have waited nearly three years since the second season on MTV capped off its summer 2016 run with an October-airing Halloween special that year. However, after a leadership shakeup at MTV, subsequent plans called for the show going the reboot route for Season 3; a rarity for non-anthology shows.
Unfortunately, upon completion, the third season of Scream languished in TV series purgatory, leaving the series as an unaired anachronism from an already-bygone era of Teen Wolf – and MTV’s overall experiment with scripted television – before the channel retreated to its reality show safety blanket by rebooting The Hills and whatnot. However, plans to finally broadcast Scream Season 3 are now confirmed. Repacked as Scream: Resurrection,...
