Under the new ownership of brothers Ernest and Alfred Tollja, the Producers' Club in Manhattan's theater district is launching a new midtown cinema, Indiehouse, opening on Jan. 15 and focusing on indie and specialty film fare.
A 100-seat, stadium-style theater, Indiehouse will be located at 358 West 44th Street between 8th and 9th Avenues.
"For a long time, we've limited our venue mainly to those in the world of stage, but now that so many film companies have shut down, there's been a lack of viable places for distribution and exhibition, which is why we thought of offering our space and services to indie filmmakers," Ernest Tollja said.
Vincent Nebrida has been hired as director of programming and marketing. Most recently the industry liaison for Ifp's annual Independent Film Week, Nebrida was a booking and distribution consultant for Emerging Pictures and, before that, the executive director of marketing at Fine Line Features.
