Former White House Chef Andre Rush‘s mission is to bring to light the importance of mental health. It is a subject dear to his heart, particularly during the month of September, National Suicide Prevention Awareness Month. The military veteran is sounding the alarm for all current and former military members to know that help is available through initiatives like Face the Fight, an organization he proudly supports.
Chef Andre Rush says ‘it’s easier to reach out than ever before’
Chef Andre Rush served as a White House chef for the presidential administrations of Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, Barack Obama, and Donald Trump. As a Master Sergeant in the U.S. Army, Rush dedicated his post-service career to advocating for military servicemen and women. He has partnered with a coalition effort dubbed Face the Fight to break the stigma around mental health.
Rush faced his own challenges after transitioning out of the military.

“I prefer to think of it not as something to have gone wrong, but it was just an ugly first draft,” says “MasterChef” contestant Nina Interlandi Bell following her elimination on Wednesday night’s episode. “I do a lot of creative things. I write and record music, I video edit, I do a bunch of creative things. I just wrote a book, too. Almost all the time when you do something creative the first draft is ugly.” Watch our exclusive video interview above.
In this “United Tastes of America” episode, judges Gordon Ramsay, Aarón Sánchez and Joe Bastianich introduced guest judge Chef Andre Rush (“Kitchen Commando”) for a Mystery Box Challenge featuring army rations. Nina’s Chicken Tikka Masala with Lentil Dahl, Pickled Onions and Lemon & Cilantro Salsa landed her in the bottom three with Charles Calvino and Wayne Lewis, where her dish was singled out as the worst.

Hey, "MasterChef" fans. Tonight, August 23, 2023, another new episode of MasterChef's current season 13 did indeed hit the air with judges: Joe Bastianich, Gordon Ramsay, and Aarón Sánchez. We saw two back-to-back episodes hit the air tonight. That means two people were eliminated after the two episodes wrapped up. The first episode kicked off with the contestants learning they were no longer cooking in regional groups. So, they couldn't be saved from elimination if someone from their region won. They were given a mystery box challenge. It was filled with army rations. They had to make a gourmet dish out of them. Chef Andre Rush showed up to do some guest judging. Next, Gordon and Andre made some example dishes from the rations to inspire the contestants. The contestants had to use at least three ration ingredients. The person with the best dish won an immunity pin. The person with the worst dish got eliminated.

Crush on Rush
One of the most endearing components of Masterchef Season 13 Episode 11 was that total sweetheart MD had such a crush on Chef Andre Rush.
From the moment she saw him, she was flustered. You can't blame her for commenting on his massive biceps, and every time he got near her, she was a giggling schoolgirl. It was precious.

For Studio Ramsay Global’s latest U.S. series, the Fox co-owned producer is trying something different: A show that doesn’t star Gordon Ramsay.
Hosted by White House chef and U.S. Army master sergeant chef Andre Rush, “Kitchen Commando” will launch its first episode on Fox’s ad-supported streamer Tubi on Sunday, the same day that Season 2 of Ramsay’s “Next Level Chef” debuts on Fox after the Super Bowl. “Kitchen Commando,” which will rollout new episodes weekly each Sunday, a first for Tubi, follows Rush as he takes on a new mission to save struggling restaurants and reignite their passion for the service industry.
The series is an “exciting experiment” for both Tubi and for Studio Ramsay Global, per Ramsay’s chief creative officer Lisa Edwards.
“One of the goals at Studio Ramsay is making shows without Gordon in them,” Edwards told Variety. “So we’re constantly looking...
