C: Carly Schroeder, Cody Linley, Brie Gabrielle, Chloe Bridges, Jillian Murray, Micah Alberti, Brittany Renee Finamore, Sean Wing, Zachary Abel, Alex Mauriello
A fun filled weekend turns into a nightmare of terror for a group of high school graduates after they are picked off one by one by a malevolent force who then erases their memory of the deceased person ever existing.
Another high concept horror film that never fully lives up to the potential of the material. Forget Me Not never fully realizes using this idea of people forgetting about one another after being mysteriously killed. It never gets into the mindset of one of the characters who realizes what's going on, yet can't figure out a way to stop it or to get her friends to remember the other people who have been killed off. Forget Me Not never captures the tension,...

I didn’t like playing chase or hiding games when I was little--is that weird? I feel like Everyone loved those games and loved being scared of being caught and the thrill of the wind in your hair blah blah blah, “I’m a kid and I love getting dirty yay!”. Well...not me. Evidently, Forget Me Not is all about games or more specifically The game. A game that seems really scary, especially because it’s played in a graveyard at night and you pretend to be a ghost. Cliches, boob jobs and 6 packs aside, Forget Me Not isn’t horrible. Don’t get me wrong it’s not great but I do give it credit for holding my attention and being original and all that. Yeah, you heard me---a horror...

*full disclosure: a DVD screener of this film was provided by Phase 4 Films.
**here be spoilers (of course).
Director: Tyler Oliver.
Writers: Tyler Oliver and Jamieson Stern.
Forget Me Not is a horror film from Tyler Oliver, which will release on DVD May 24th, 2011, through Phase 4 Films. The film stars Carly Schroeder (Prey), Cody Linley (Cheaper by the Dozen), and Brie Gabrielle, in what is a mostly tense thriller. Taking some license with the Ring and Red Mist, Forget Me Not introduces a young girl placed in a coma, by some misguided youth. In this unconscious state, Angela (Brittany Renee Finamore) takes revenge on these kids, now grown up, by reliving a childhood game. The dominoes fall one by one, as Oliver develops a supernatural mythos involving characters returning from the grave. Few characters survive their time in this local graveyard.
Comparisons to other films crop up pretty quick into this film.

Teen horror movies may be a dime a dozen, but after watching the trailer for Forget Me Not, I have no problem saying I'd be willing to shell out a dozen dimes or so to watch it. Better start saving up your dimes because Forget Me Not will be arriving on DVD shelves in May.
The supernatural tweener terror stars the likes of Carly Schroeder ("Lizzy McGuire"), Cody Linley ("Hannah Montana), Chloe Bridges (Camp Rock 2: The Final Jam), and Jillian Murray (The Graves). If you're not familiar with any of those names, all you need to know are the words "young" and "photogenic".

Micahel Hoffman is an up and coming director in the horror genre. After catching Spring Break Massacre and Rot: Reunion of Terror he has shown that his films can be very pointed and focused. He is a director that has the potential to have a clear point of view in the genre and his own distinctive voice all while under the age of 30, which hopefully he won't stray away from. As us genre fans know, some directors go there entire career (Steve Miner anyone?) without finding their point of view or voice. Between the films, even though they are stand alone films with different storylines and aren't connected in any way between each other, there is a cohesion of style and themes and feel unqiuely like the work of Michael Hoffman. So kudos to this up and coming talent!

We caught up with director Tyler Oliver and writer Jamieson Stern at the 2009 La Screamfest, where their film Forget Me Not is premiering tonight, and the duo dropped the early word on their next project Public Storage on us. We figured we'd share because, you know, we can't be keeping all the good shit to ourselves all the time.
"Yes, I've written another horror film along with another writer named Herschel Faber," says Stern. "It's got some really interesting names interested in it already. It's more of a slasher film. I have a lot of respect for Tyler, and we have a great working relationship, and we just want to work together again." [Editors Note: At press-time director Tyler Oliver is not officially attached] "The film is called Public Storage, so let the imagination run wild!"
Interesting. Check out the trailer for Forget Me Not below, and look for more on it and Public Storage soon.

Every now and then a film completely sneaks up on you and delivers a nice, pleasant surprise. Such is the case with Forget Me Not, a movie I didn't even know existed before watching the trailer (embedded below). Though I suppose in this particular case, 'nice' and 'pleasant' aren't the most applicable words, as Forget Me Not doesn't look quite so warm and fuzzy.
Written and directed by first timer Tyler Oliver, Forget Me Not tells the story of Sandy, a gal who just wants to survive high school. But when friends of hers start disappearing on the weekend of graduation, Sandy realizes the culprit is most likely a girl her group of friends wronged long ago. Now before you start rolling your eyes at how familiar of a setup that is, give the trailer a watch below. Unlike what you'd expect from a basic description like that, the culprit in question isn't exactly alive,...
