After three long and presumably frustrating years on the market with asking prices that started at $7.9 million and plummeted to $4.5 million, world-renown artists Lari Pittman and Roy Dowell have at long last sold their architecturally significant compound in the foothills above La Crescenta, Calif., for $4.25 million and good ol’ real estate yenta Yolanda Yakketyyak swears the new owner is veteran rock star and occasional actor Michael Balzary, better known around the globe as the mononymic Red Hot Chili Pepper bassist Flea. About 20 miles due north of downtown Los Angeles where it abuts the Angeles National Forest, the secluded 5.7-acre hillside compound encompasses two dynamic, groundbreaking residences plus an open-air entertainment pavilion set amid a scrupulously groomed desert garden.

Michael Balzary, better known as mononymic Red Hot Chili Peppers bassist Flea, listed a 1930s traditional in the Los Feliz area of Los Angeles, Calif., at $2.997 million. The gap-toothed six-time Grammy winner and occasional actor, who popped up on silver screen in the summer 2017 sleeper hit “Baby Driver,” and his international fashion model wife, Frankie Rayder, acquired the modest-by-rock-star-standards residence not quite four years ago for $2.47 million. The two-story residence, a not-unpleasantly boxy, semi-Colonial dipped in a strong tincture of Streamline Moderne that is shyly set but not entirely invisible behind a towering hedgerow and secured gates on a just over one-quarter of an acre corner parcel just south of the eastern flank of Griffith Park, contains four and potentially five bedrooms and 4.5 bathrooms in 3,561-square-feet of art-filled interiors.

Los Angeles, Sep 25: American designer Michael Kors likes to include models of different ethnicities in his fashion shows so that his shows don't get boring.
"I like the idea of models that can be chameleons. I don't like it when the models all look the same. To me, it's so incredibly boring to turn them into mannequins, it's so much more interesting if we have different ages, ethnicities, body types, heights," vogue.co.uk quoted Kors as saying.
"We run the gamut from Frankie Rayder who's in her late thirties and Karen Elson, to girls that are just starting out who are 17; we go from the fairest of the fair to the darkest.

Three-quarters of the Red Hot Chili Peppers are now proud members of the daddy club — and say it can be about as crazy as some of their on-the-road adventures.
“I love the club,” frontman Anthony Kiedis, 48, explains. “Good God, it’s a beautiful club. Who knew? You can’t know until you go. It’s wild.”
Chatting during an appearance On the Record with Fuse airing Tuesday, Kiedis describes his 3½-year-old son Everly Bear — who sports his father’s signature hairstyle — as “a little boy who’s often mistaken for a girl because his hair is real long.
