Here is a wrap-up of all the news you need to know from Thursday, April 4, 2023.
Netflix is not moving forward with Freeridge Season 2.
The On My Block spinoff launched on the streaming service in February but failed to get much traction.
The original series aired from 2018-21 and racked up impressive viewership for the service, so it's surprising the latest entry failed to resonate.
Freeridge was "a coming-of-age comedy following sibling rivals Gloria and Ines and their friends Demi and Cameron who have unleashed a curse bringing dark misfortune into their lives."
Pete Davidson is staging a comeback to Saturday Night Live, but it will be a one-time-only deal.
The SNL alum is set to host the May 6, 2023, installment of the veteran sketch show.
Davidson joined the show in 2014 and departed in May 2022.

Next up is a comedy about a family dealing with its eldest child’s cerebral palsy… or, rather, that eldest child dealing with their well-intentioned overprotectiveness.

Exclusive: Marry Me alum Tymberlee Hill is returning to NBC as a series regular opposite Anna Camp and Bradley Whitford on the network’s newly titled single-camera comedy pilot Perfect Harmony (fka Untitled Bradley Whitford). “I think it’s time I make a statement on disability,” Jj Dimeo (Micah Fowler) announces early in this week’s episode of the ABC sitcom Speechless. This is something of a surprise from both Jj and the show itself, both of which have worked very hard to keep Jj from being defined solely by his cerebral palsy. But this is Jj being wisely cynical — it’s for the short he’s making as his NYU film school application — and Speechless recognizing that it’s earned the right after two-and-a-half...

Anna Camp has snapped up a pitch perfect pilot season gig. The actress-singer has signed on to star opposite Bradley Whitford in NBC’s currently-untitled, single-camera, church choir-themed comedy pilot (fka All Together Now), TVLine has learned.
The potential series — from EPs Lesley Wake Webster (Speechless), Jason Winer (Single Parents) and Whitford — centers on a rural church choir that gets the director it never thought it needed when a salty, Ivy League music professor (Whitford) stumbles through their door. Camp will portray Ginny, a waitress and divorced mother who plays the piano for the church and is the de facto director of the choir.
