- She met her future husband when they both competed in an amateur talent contest in Toronto. He won, and she came in second. At age 14, they started dancing as a team, performing in clubs in Toronto and Montreal and doing hotel floor shows.
- She was a dancer and choreographer who worked in theater, TV, and teaching. She was trained in ballet, tap, jazz, ballroom and Spanish dance. She starred in "Meet the Navy", a stage show for troops in Europe during WWII.
