It was Abhilash Shetty (3-17) and Sharan Goud (2-24), who set up the Gulbarga Mystics’ win which was followed by top-order batsman Chethan’s essential contribution, who scored a quickfire 36 off 24 balls.
Earlier in the day, Gulbarga Mystics put Bengaluru Blasters to bat. The team’s decision worked like magic with Abhilash Shetty sending D Nischal (1) and skipper Mayank Agarwal (4) back to the dugout within the third over.

Jaipur, May 7 (Ians) England batter Joe Root was handed his Indian Premier League (Ipl) debut as Rajasthan Royals captain Sanju Samson won the toss and elected to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad in an Ipl 2023 match at Sawai Mansingh Stadium on Sunday.
The pitch for Sunday’s match is the one used in Friday’s game, where Rajasthan were handed a nine-wicket thrashing by defending champions Gujarat Titans. Both Rajasthan and Hyderabad are coming off four losses in their last five matches of the competition and need a victory to get their campaign back on track.
After winning the toss, Samson said apart from Root’s debut, the team is dealing with a few injury issues. Trent Boult is not in the playing eleven, with Rajasthan fielding three spinners — Ravichandran Ashwin, Murugan Ashwin and Yuzvendra Chahal.
“Conditions also demand the same. Climate has been different. Not much dew in the latter half.

Riding on Nitish Rana’s 42 off 31 and Rinku Singh’s 46 off 35, Kkr posted 171/9 on the board in front of Srh clinical bowling display. In reply, Srh seemed to be struggling to execute their plans as they lost the rhythm after middle overs and suffered a loss in another game at home.

Hyderabad, May 4 (Ians) Sunrisers Hyderabad’s (Srh) clinical bowling display including T Natarajan’s stunning last over kept Kolkata Knight Riders (Kkr) to 171/9 in an Ipl 2023 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, here on Thursday.
For Srh, it was Marco Jansen (2/24), who set the tone early, striking twice in his first over. Then Karthik Tyagi got the crucial wicket of Jason Roy in his first over.
Despite the three early wickets, Hyderabad did leak a few runs during the middle overs but they pulled things back nicely. Natarajan (2/30) bowled a brilliant 20th over, conceding just three runs and picked up a wicket along with inflicting a runout.
Putting into bat first, Kkr had a slow start, losing two quick wickets in the first couple of overs and later lost the set batter, Roy, who threatened with a few boundaries, as the visitors ended the powerplay at 49/3.

Hyderabad, May 4 (Ians) Kolkata Knight Riders (Kkr) won the toss and opted to bat first against Sunrisers Hyderabad (Srh) in an Ipl 2023 match at Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium, here on Thursday.
Kkr made two changes in their playing XI as Jason Roy came in for David Wiese and Vaibhav Arora replaced N Jagadeeshan.
“We’ll bat first. Looks like a good wicket, hopefully, we’ll post a good score and then restrict them. We’re not thinking too much ahead, we just have to take it game-by-game. We have had injuries in many games, but they’re back now. We’re playing an extra batter due to the impact rule, and need to get those 10-15 extra runs. New Delhi, April 30 (Ians) After Sunrisers Hyderabad ended their three-match losing streak in Indian Premier League (Ipl) 2023 with a nine-run win over Delhi Capitals at the Arun Jaitley Stadium on Saturday, batting coach Hemang Badani stated that the time Heinrich Klaasen and Abdul Samad were at the crease, the message sent to the duo was to look for a boundary in every over.
At the halfway stage, Hyderabad were 83/4, despite amassing 62/2 in Power-play. But Klassen made an unbeaten 53 off 27 balls while sharing a 53-run standoff 33 balls with Samad, who made 28 off 21 balls, as the 2016 Ipl champions took 62 runs off the last five overs to post an imposing 197/6, enough to grab two points.
“The message was quite clear — in this format, you have to keep striking. The message was to keep looking at a boundary and an over, keep looking at probably about 8 (runs) an over at that point maybe for the next 2-3 overs.

With this win, Delhi Capitals return to winning ways after a three-match losing streak in the ongoing season.
Brilliant attacking fifties by Abhishek Sharma (67 off 36) and Heinrich Klaasen (53 off 27) propelled Sunrisers Hyderabad to 197/6 against Delhi Capitals despite Mitchell Marsh’s four-fer (4-27).
Apart from Abhishek and Klaasen, most of the Srh batters struggled to get going as the team lost wickets at regular intervals. On the other hand, barring Marsh, who bowled a maiden and bagged four wickets, none of the DC bowlers made a mark.

Hyderabad, April 25 (Ians) Sunrisers Hyderabad coach Brian Lara has taken his batters to task for their failure to chase a target of 145 against Delhi Capitals. There was no devil in the pitch and they should have achieved the target, Lara said after the match.
In one of the worst possible chases of a target, Sunrisers Hyderabad failed to achieve a target of 145 against Delhi Capitals in Match 34 of India Premier League (Ipl) 2023 at the Rajiv Gandhi International here on Monday.
Though Srh bowlers had performed brilliantly to reduce Delhi Capitals to 62/5 before allowing them to reach 144/9, thanks to a run-a-ball 34 by Axar Patel and a 27-ball 34 by Manish Pandey.
Still, the target was achievable as the pitch was not offering much to the bowlers. But the Srh batters failed to maintain a good scoring rate, had a poor Power-play and despite a 39-ball 49 by opener Mayank Agarwal and some late-order...

Axar Patel came in to bat with Delhi Capitals struggling at 62/5 and struck a crucial run-a-ball 34 and with help from seasoned Manish Pandey (34 off 28) propelled Delhi Capitals to a below-par 144/9 in 20 overs after skipper David Warner had won the toss and elected to bat first.
Axar starred with the ball too as he claimed 2-21 in his four overs and along with fellow-spinner Kuldeep Yadav (1-22), Anrich Nortje (2-33) and Ishant Sharma (1-18) applied the screws on the Sunrisers Hyderabad batters in their chase of what looked like a below-par score. He claimed the crucial wickets of Mayank Agarwal and Aiden Markram as they dried up the runs in the middle overs.

Chennai, April 22 (Ians) After being outplayed by Chennai Super Kings by seven wickets at the Ma Chidambaram Stadium on Friday, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Brian Lara indicated their new-look opening combination of Abhishek Sharma and Harry Brook is what the team will be fielding in upcoming games.
In six games of Ipl 2023, Hyderabad have fielded four opening combinations, with the Brook-Sharma one the latest addition on Friday. The experiment meant regular opener Mayank Agarwal was pushed to an unfamiliar number six position, as the new opening combination put 35 runs on board before Brook fell in the fifth over.

Chennai, April 21 (Ians) Chennai Super Kings (Csk) won the toss and elected to bowl first against Sunrisers Hyderabad (Srh) in an Indian Premier League (Ipl) 2023 match at Ma Chidambaram Stadium, here on Friday.
Both sides remained unchanged for this game.
“This pitch is 50-50 because it is slightly cloudy. There might be dew so it is always better to chase. All packed together on the points table, we need to do well and not look at the table at this moment. Combination-wise, we have been fortunate because we haven’t had all players available. The headaches start later when everyone becomes available,” Csk skipper Ms Dhoni said at the toss.
Srh captain Aiden Markram said there will be the same 16 but since they are batting first here, there will be a change to the XI.
“We had a good game against Kkr batting first, so hopefully we can take a leaf out of that.

Hyderabad, April 19 (Ians) After losing to five-time champions Mumbai Indians in their Ipl 2023 match at the Rajiv Gandhi International Stadium on Tuesday, Sunrisers Hyderabad head coach Brian Lara admitted that the side is still looking around for a batter in their middle-order who can finish matches like the way Rahul Tewatia and David Miller do.
In chasing 193, Hyderabad had contributions from Mayank Agarwal, captain Aiden Markram and Heinrich Klaasen. But none of the trio could stay long to score big. Though Marco Jansen and Washington Sundar played some good cameos, they weren’t enough for Hyderabad to win the match and are now at ninth place in the points table.
“It’s a work in progress. We need to have guys who are thinking the game throughout right till the end. There are some great examples in the Ipl. (Rahul) Tewatia, (David) Miller, we do need that sort of person...

Riding on Ruturaj Gaikwad’s 168 and Ankit Bawne’s 110, Maharashtra posted a formidable 350/7 in 50 overs. In reply, Assam threatened to chase it down, but they faltered in the end and were eventually restricted to 338/8.
Put into bat, Maharashtra lost the wicket of Rahul Tripathi early but Gaikwad and Satyajeet Bachhav stitched a useful partnership to build a steady platform.
