So far, Loki is the only Disney+ Marvel-based series to get a second season, but we're now hearing that a sophomore run for another popular show might be in the cards.
According to Daniel Richtman, a second season of Ms. Marvel is being discussed, but a final decision has not been made.
We have heard that Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) is being position as a major player in the MCU going forward, so a second season of her solo show would make sense. That said, Khan's big-screen debut, The Marvels, massively underperformed, which might well influence Marvel/Disney's decision.
Somewhat controversially for long-time fans of the character, Khan was revealed to be a mutant in the season 1 finale, ret-conning her Inhuman status from the comic books.
This new origin soon carried over to the page (though she also retains her Inhuman-ness), with Khan becoming the latest member of the X-Men,...

MCU is one of the biggest and most successful media franchises centered around superhero movies based on the characters from Marvel Comics. The franchise includes movies, TV series, short movies, digital series, and literature. The first phase of the MCU under President Kevin Feige began with 2008’s Iron Man and was concluded with 2012’s The Avengers. But, Nelson Peltz, an activist investor, questions Feige’s ability to run MCU following recent disappointments in terms of movies, series, and the Jonathan Majors controversy.

Over the years, Marvel Studios under Kevin Feige has produced movies, keeping not only the superheroes from the comic books in mind but also what the audience would like to see on screen. This article contains spoilers for "The Marvels."
Introduced in the 2019 film "Captain Marvel," Goose is a mysterious, voracious alien creature called a Flerken, a being with uncountable tentacles that can snatch full-grown adults from their feet and swallow them whole into its tiny stomach. Goose swallows many victims in "Captain Marvel," and reappears as the good Captain's aloof pet in Nia DaCosta's new film "The Marvels" to swallow even more. The main joke of Goose is that when it's not grabbing its prey, it looks like an average-sized orange tabby housecat. In "The Marvels," Goose is achieved mostly through CGI, but is also played by the real-life cat actors Nemo and Tango.
Later in the film, Goose lays hundreds of Flerken eggs all over a space station. When they hatch, the station is overrun with hungry, hungry kittens who snarf down much of the crew. Don't worry. It's all done to save their lives.

"The Marvels" is not getting off to a heroic start at the box office. The latest entry in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, a sequel to 2019's massive hit "Captain Marvel," arrived in theaters on Thursday and, while it's early, the numbers are not encouraging. Based on what the film took in during preview screenings, it now looks like director Nia DaCosta's superhero blockbuster is going to wind up with one of the smallest opening weekends in the history of the MCU. Brace for impact.
With showings that started at 3 p.m., "The Marvels" took in $6.6 million in Thursday preview screenings, per The Numbers. Much could happen between now and Monday morning but those numbers suggest an opening weekend well below original projections, likely in the mid-$50 million range, give or take. Early box office tracking had the film earning as much as $90 million on opening weekend. Even in a best-case scenario at this point,...

Plot: Carol Danvers aka Captain Marvel has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence. Review: In 2019, Captain Marvel became the first female-led superhero movie to cross a billion dollars at the box office and garnered a decent critical response while simultaneously getting review bombed on IMDb and Rotten Tomatoes. Face front, true believers! This year we’ve had three multiplex visits to the realm of the “Distinguished Competition”, so you didn’t think the MCU would end 2023 with treks into Quantumania and Knowhere (hangout of those Galaxy Guardians)? Oh no, Smilin’ Stan wouldn’t want the fifteenth anniversary of the Studio to conclude without one more adventure. And it’s a sequel to a 2019 film that introduced the cosmic Carol Danvers, while also being somewhat of an expansion of her saga. That’s because she’s not completely going solo as she’s joined by two characters that made their heroic debuts on Disney+. Together this titanic trio is on a mission to save us all as The Marvels.

The Marvel Cinematic Universe is making its return to the big screen once again as "The Marvels" is hitting theaters. This not only serves as a sequel to 2019's "Captain Marvel," but it's also building on Disney+ shows like "WandaVision" and "Ms. Marvel" with a pair of new heroes joining Carol Danvers to form a new super team. Teyonah Parris and Iman Vellani are uniting with Brie Larson as Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan, respectively. As the catchphrase goes: Higher, further, faster.
It should not be lost on MCU fans that this is the first new team we've been introduced to in some time. If we don't count the trio of Spider-Men at the end of "No Way Home," we would have to go back to "Eternals." That makes this an important film in Phase 5. But is it important enough to have a credits scene? That's what we're here to discuss!

"She tore a hold in space... there's a different reality bleeding into ours." Marvel has another official trailer for the The Marvels sequel, opening in theaters worldwide this weekend. This is a "let's trying everything" kitchen sink trailer that opens with Avengers and Iron Man (who aren't in the movie) in hopes it might get audiences interested. This is a sequel to the hit Captain Marvel movie (from 2019) and a continuation of the series Ms. Marvel and Secret Invasion. The plot in The Marvels follows three connected superheroes: Carol Danvers played by Brie Larson, Kamala Khan played by Iman Vellani, and Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parris (the daughter of Lashana Lynch's character). When they begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers, the trio must team up to determine why and stop whoever did this. The full cast also includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury,...

After a lot of new rewrites and delays in shooting, not to mention the halting of production due the Hollywood strikes, MCU’s latest outing ‘The Marvels’ has released its final trailer and it harbours some of the old-school MCU energy back into its fold.
Beginning with a blurry clip of ‘Avengers: Endgame’, where Tony Stark and Steve Rodgers are discussing their prospects of winning before time travelling, Nick Fury is narrating his belief regarding heroes and saying that while it is an old-school notion the world nonetheless needs them.
While the previous trailer for the film was much more comical with no clear hint as to who the villain is, this time ‘The Marvels’ looks a lot darker and more serious, which makes the stakes much higher as well.
‘The Marvels’ follows Carol Danvers – Captain Marvel (Brie Larson), who has reclaimed her identity from the tyrannical Kree and taken revenge on the Supreme Intelligence.

The final trailer for The Marvels sees a band of heroes unite for “one last fight.”
Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel joins forces with Iman Vellani’s Kamala Kahn/Ms. Marvel, Teyonah Parris’ Captain Monica Rambeau, Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie, Samuel L. Jackson’s Nick Fury and potentially more Marvel characters to defeat Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn in the upcoming superhero film.
The two-minute look at the sequel debuted during Monday Night Football and kicks off with a look back at the Avengers’ war against Thanos, which set up the stakes for The Marvels team as they prepare to go up against a powerful enemy.

“The Marvels” final trailer has confirmed a super-cameo from Tessa Thompson’s Valkyrie.

The Marvels is tracking to open in the $70 million to $80 million range in the latest test of box office superhero fatigue. It launches Nov. 10.
The 33rd installment in the Marvel Cinematic Universe is a sequel to the 2019 Brie Larson-starrer Captain Marvel, which opened to $153.4 million in North America, not adjusted to inflation. Tracking for The Marvels varies widely depending upon the research firm; Nrg has it at $72 million-$88 million, while The Quorum thinks closer to $70 million, according to those with access to data.
The last title from Marvel Studios’ that didn’t open to $70 million or more was Ant-Man in 2015 ($57.2 million). The majority of MCU movies (or 25) have opened to $100 million or more domestically, with eight coming in at $150 million or higher.

During a recent interview with Total Film magazine, the Candyman filmmaker said while she thinks “superhero fatigue absolutely exists,” she believes her film will stand out from the rest.
The latest MCU installment sees Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, get her powers entangled with those of Iman Vellani’s Kamala Khan and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau. Together, they must work to save the universe.
“The biggest difference from the other MCU movies to date is that it’s really wacky, and silly,” DaCosta told the outlet for its upcoming Aug. 17 issue. “The worlds we go to in this movie are worlds unlike others you’ve seen in the MCU. Bright worlds that you haven’t seen before.”

San Diego Comic-Con is not as a big of a studio draw this year, what with all the striking and general downturn of superhero blockbusters. So while the convention is still rolling on out in California, Marvel has gone the old fashioned internet route for its big news this week, sharing a new trailer for The Marvels.
This latest look at director Nia DaCosta’s Captain Marvel sequel doesn’t offer too much in the way of new footage, but it does shine some light on the film’s antagonist, Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn. The Kree general is out for revenge on Carol “Captain Marvel” Danvers (Brie Larson), and her plan involves a certain bracelet Ms. Marvel fans may recognize. It appears to be the twin of the bangle that activated Kamala Khan’s (Iman Vellani) light-matter powers, and Dar-Benn uses it to “entangle” The Marvels’ powers. Anytime Danvers, Khan,...

Brie Larson as Carol Danvers, aka Captain Marvel, gets her powers entangled with those of fellow heroes Monica Rambeau and Kamala Khan in the second trailer for The Marvels, which has dropped just in time to generate Comic-Con buzz.
The sequel’s first trailer had Larson joined by Iman Vellani, the breakout of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel in the role of Kamala Khan, as well as Teyonah Parris as the grown-up version of Captain Marvel character Monica Rambeau, as they join forces to save the universe.
But the official trailer gives more clues as to why the unlikely trio must join hands as The Marvels, as we learn more about the film’s archvillain, Zawe Ashton’s Dar-Benn. Having secured a powerful bracelet, she appears bent on revenge as Dar-Benn scrambles the light-based powers of Danvers, Rambeau and Khan.

While Marvel Studios may not have a Comic-Con panel this year, the studio is taking advantage of the timing of the event to drop a brand new trailer for the “Captain Marvel” sequel “The Marvels.”
Directed by Nia DaCosta (“Candyman”), the story finds Brie Larson’s Carol Danvers beset by challenges as a figure from her past (played by Zawe Ashton) threatens to destroy everything she loves. Complicating matters is the fact that Carol, her estranged niece Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris) and the young Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) get their powers intertwined — every time one of them uses their powers, they switch places with one of the others.
The cast for the MCU film also includes Gary Lewis, Park Seo-joon, Zenobia Shroff, Mohan Kapur and Saagar Shaikh, with Samuel L. Jackson returning as Nick Fury following the Disney+ limited series “Secret Invasion.”

"She's entangled our light-based powers." This fall, The Marvels take flight. Marvel Studios has revealed the full official trailer for The Marvels, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit Captain Marvel (from 2019) and also a continuation of the series Ms. Marvel and Secret Invasion. The story follows three superheroes: Carol Danvers played by Brie Larson, Kamala Khan played by Iman Vellani, Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parris (recast from Lashana Lynch in the original). When they begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers, the trio must team up to determine why and stop whoever did this. Sounds like fun! Though this trailer is much more serious than comical. The full cast includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zawe Ashton, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, Gary Lewis, and Park Seo-joon. The Flerken cat Goose is back, along with a bunch of other space kitties.

Carol Danvers, her supporting cast, and the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a whole have all come a long way since our very first tease of Brie Larson's space-faring superhero. Most would agree that the 2019 film did an adequate job of establishing the origin story for the eponymous Captain Marvel, tying together her Air Force background, a test flight gone horribly awry, and her subsequent team-up with a young, pre-eyepatch Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) against the perceived threat of the shapeshifting Skrulls and the sinister Supreme Intelligence. After saving the world once again in "Avengers: Endgame" and making brief cameos in both "Shang-Chi and the Legend of the Ten Rings" and "Ms. Marvel," the Disney+ series starring Iman Vellani as the lovable Kamala Khan, we've yet to see the energy-blasting superhero back in action ... until now.

The flick features Iman Vellani, reprising the role she played in the Disney+ original series Ms. Marvel.
She will be joined by MCU veterans Brie Larson as Carol Danvers and Teyonah Parris as Monic Rambeau.
Danvers was last seen in the post-credit scene for Ms. Marvel, in which she swapped places with Kamala.
Monica had a significant presence on WandaVision and was last seen at the end of the limited series as she was sent a message to meet Nick Fury (played by Samuel L. Jackson).

A trio of mighty Marvel heroes find their powers mysteriously merged in the first teaser trailer for the Captain Marvel sequel The Marvels.
Fan of the Disney+ series Ms. Marvel already got already got a hint of what’s going on in this latest Marvel Cinematic Universe; that series ended (spoiler) with the young Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani) activating her powers only to find herself forcibly switched with a real Avenger, Carol “Captain Marvel” Danvers (Brie Larson). It turns out there’s a third super-powered person tied up in all this, as Monica Rambeau (Teyonah Parris of WandaVision) is also getting suddenly swapped.
Monica has been working with Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson) at the S.A.B.E.R. space station, so of course he’s going to keep his eye on the situation.. Because amidst all this physical freaky Friday stuff, the Kree appear to be up to something Kree-like,...

"We're a team?" Marvel has unveiled the first teaser trailer for The Marvels, the highly anticipated sequel to the hit Captain Marvel (from 2019) and also a continuation of the series Ms. Marvel on Disney+ last year. "Teaming up changes e̶v̶e̶r̶y̶t̶h̶i̶n̶g̶ everyone." The story follows three superheroes: Carol Danvers played by Brie Larson, Kamala Khan played by Iman Vellani, and Monica Rambeau played by Teyonah Parris (recast from Lashana Lynch in the original). When they begin swapping places with each other every time they use their powers, the trio must team up to determine why and stop whatever is causing this. Sounds like fun! The cast includes Samuel L. Jackson as Nick Fury, Zawe Ashton, Mohan Kapur, Saagar Shaikh, Zenobia Shroff, and Park Seo-joon. The Flerken cat Goose is back, along with a bunch of other kitties. This is a fantastic trailer!

Marvel Studios may be slowing down its output a bit, but this fall, the studio is giving fans three marvels in one. The first trailer for “The Marvels,” the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s 33rd feature film, has been released by Disney.
Ostensibly a sequel to 2018’s “Captain Marvel,” which introduced Brie Larson as the titular superhero, “The Marvels” actually follows up on characters from three different MCU titles. Aside from Larson as Carol Danvers, the movie also features Iman Vellani as Kamala Khan from last year’s Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel” and Teyonah Parris as Monica Rambeau from 2021’s “Wandavision.” All three characters have, at various points, utilized either the “Captain Marvel” or “Ms. Marvel” aliases in the original comic books.
The post-credits scene for “Ms. Marvel’s” final episode saw Kamala, a New Jersey teenager and fresh-faced superhero, unexpectedly swap places with Carol, a former Air Force Pilot with...

Brie Larson is back in the Marvel Cinematic Universe for “The Marvels,” the sequel to 2019’s “Captain Marvel.” This time, Larson shares the spotlight with fellow female MCU stars Teyonah Parris from “WandaVision” and Iman Vellani from “Ms. Marvel.”
The anticipated follow-up to Carol Danvers’ origin story takes place after the Disney+ series “Ms. Marvel,” which introduced Vellani as Kamala Khan, a.k.a. the young, New Jersey superhero Ms. Marvel.
Prior to the first “The Marvels'” trailer release, the first look at the film was shown exclusively to panel attendees at the 2022 D23 Expo. The initial footage offers insight into the aftermath of the “Ms. Marvel” post-credits scene, where Kamala seemingly swapped places with Carol. “The Marvels” teaser picked up shortly thereafter, with Captain Monica Rambeau (Parris) working as an astronaut for Saber Space Station alongside Nick Fury (Samuel L. Jackson). When Monica hits a jump point in the space continuum,...

Not going to lie, the Marvel Cinematic Universe has felt a little more dire without the presence of Carol Danvers (Brie Larson). While her solo film, 2018's "Captain Marvel," might have its detractors, it's hard to deny she's not a highlight of the current McU's slate of heroes. Needless to say, Captain Marvel getting a new movie, especially one from "Little Woods" director Nia DaCosta, is some pretty exciting stuff, and now we're finally getting our first look at her newest adventure.
Unfortunately, it looks like this one will involve some pretty sticky situations. As we last saw at the end of "Ms. Marvel," the multiversal shenanigans going on in the background have seeped into the lives of Danvers, Kamala Khan (Iman Vellani), and Monica Rambeau. Namely, whenever one of them uses their powers, they swap places. Given how destabilized their universe is from all the wibbly-wobbly timey-wimey stuff going on in the franchise,...
