Freddy Wexler is an industry veteran. He is a GRAMMY-nominated songwriter, creator, and film and television producer with 10 Billboard #1s and a robust film, television, and animation slate. Wexler began his career as an A&R intern for Sony Music where he pitched an unknown artist, Stefani Germonatta, as "the next Madonna." Germonatta, whose early demos Wexler recorded, went on to become Lady Gaga. His songs have been released by Ariana Grande, Justin Bieber, Post Malone, BlackPink, Selena Gomez, Lil Wayne, the Jonas Brothers, Demi Lovato, Halsey, Pink, Marshmello, Diana Ross, Celine Dion, Martin Garrix, Pusha T, Wyclef Jean, Tiesto, Steve Aoki, Bea Miller, Avicii, and Billy Joel. Over the years, Wexler has become known as someone with an ability to create unique cultural moments, and Billy Joel's new single (which Wexler cowrote and produced)-and AI-based music video (which he co-directed)-are a case in point. Wexler also oversaw all marketing, radio, and promotional strategies, including Joel's historic 2024 GRAMMY performance, landing Joel his highest chart position since 1993.
In 2023, Wexler founded The Freddy Wexler Company-a multi platform entertainment company that seeks to inspire global audiences through the power of storytelling, philanthropy, and groundbreaking technology. The company's slate includes projects at Disney, Universal, Sony, the NFL, MGM, Nickelodeon, Fulwell 73, Fremantle, and Random House-including the previously announced Untitled Football Biopic (MGM's Orion Pictures), based on a championship-winning all-deaf high school football team; Soul Superhero (Westbrook), a live-action musical fantasy; Grace (Walt Disney Pictures), a dance drama about a highly talented, disabled dancer; and Unfinished Business (NFL Network), a short doc Wexler co-directed and produced about Keith Adams. Named in Variety's Family Entertainment Impact Report List for Film and Television, Wexler aims to donate a portion of earnings from every project to a charity organization related to its theme or subject matter. "Stuck With U," which he cowrote, has raised over $5.5 million for first responders.
Wexler lives in Los Angeles with his wife and 3 children. He is a graduate of the University of Pennsylvania.
