Law & Order: Svu was a bit of new territory for hip-hop artist Ice-t. When he first met the cast, he noticeably kept a bit of distance. But little did the rapper know he’d be working with his Law & Order for 25 seasons now.

Ice-t couldn’t have known Law & Order was going to last as long as it has when he was first cast. The actor has always shared that he was originally only supposed to be on the show for four episodes.
“Here it is, we’re starting the 22nd season. I can’t really explain it, man,” Ice-t said not too long ago on Straight Up Steve Austin.
But Ice-t doesn’t mind the show’s longevity.

Mariska Hargitay is once again remembering Richard Belzer, her late Law & Order: Svu co-star, as a special “heart and soul” who as both an actor and comedian was “brilliant.”
While appearing on NBC’s Today to discuss the latest episode of one of TV’s longest-running series as well as celebrate longtime colleague and friend Ice-t’s recent Hollywood Walk of Fame honor, the actress opened up about Belzer, who died on Feb. 19 at 78.
“What a heart and soul,” she told Savannah Guthrie. “He was family and taught me so much about taking risks and creativity and trust.”
Hargitay added that while working on the series with her, from which he retired as a series regular in 2016, “he brought so much joy to the set.” According to the actress and EP, he also — despite being an “acerbic, quick-witted, brilliant” mind — had a soft spot for children, whom he would “melt” at the sight of.

“Law & Order: Special Victims Unit” alum Diane Neal is weighing in on the debate of glorifying law enforcement.
The long-running Dick Wolf series kicks off its 24th season on NBC this fall, but former cast member Neal is now responding to the criticisms that “Last Week Tonight” host John Oliver voiced last week.
“Government and press reports have repeatedly shown that New York’s actual sex crimes unit is set up to fail victims of sexual assault, and its case closure rate is a long way from Elliot Stabler’s fictitious 97 percent,” the “Last Week Tonight with John Oliver” host stated last Friday. “The NYPD’s official figures show that they only close about a third of sexual assault cases.”
Oliver added, “Instead of depicting a flawed system riddled with structural racism, the show presents exceptionally competent cops working within a largely fair framework that mostly convicts white people.

A former Law & Order actress agrees with a controversial piece about the show’s flaws.
Diane Neal, who played Assistant District Attorney Casey Novak on Law & Order: Special Victims Unit, spoke about John Oliver’s now-famous critique of the franchise.
The HBO host chastised Law & Order for providing an unrealistic take on how police work occurs. That included how it ignores the realities of assault victims rarely finding justice.
Neal asked fans to share their experiences and soon had replies from people about their experiences with the police following an assault.
Their stories had Neal admitting she felt “embarrassed” about her work on the show and its presentation of police work.
Her words fuel the growing discussion of Law & Order’s view of police work and the public perception of the victims.

Why can't a woman have it all?
Diane Neal and Tamera Tunie aren't the only Law & Order: Svu alum to grace the screen in Ann Rule-inspired films this month.
Stephanie March is joining the fray of the Ripped from the Headlines slate of movies that will have you glued to the screen with A House on Fire.
A House on Fire, Lifetime's latest true-crime book-to-screen film, is based on the Ann Rule novel Bitter Harvest.
March plays esteemed doctor and mother Deborah Green. On the surface, she couldn't be happier with her life.
It's everything that a person would desire. She has a thriving career, a successful husband, who is also in the medical field, a lovely home, and children.
It appears as if she's living the American dream, but of course, nothing is ever as it seems behind closed doors.
Deborah's marriage to her husband (Shaun Benson) is rocky at best.

Nothing is worse than when crime doesn't pay off, especially when that crime is murder.

It also serves as the directorial debut of Lifetime veteran actress Ashley Williams. Lifetime is always a network whose focus is on uplifting women and giving them opportunities.
During this Women's History Month, it's lovely to see that they're as passionate about helping women expand their worlds beyond the camera as they are in front of it.
If you previously missed the Circe of Deception Promo, then you should know that this is a wonderfully twisted true-crime tale of a scandalous murder that takes place in a small Rhode Island community that changed everything.

When last we saw The Good Wife‘s Alicia and Peter Florrick, they were engaged in a scathing, no-holds-barred argument in a service hallway of a Chicago hotel. (Ok, yes, the Illinois governor eventually caved in and showed up at his wife’s campaign kickoff for State’s Attorney, but it wasn’t exactly the Portrait of a Blissful Political Marriage.)
In the following first-look images from the show’s Nov. 16 episode (9/8c on CBS), however, temperatures look decidedly warmer — at least while the cameras are rolling, anyway. There’s laughter, a smooch and… a campaign manager (Steven Pasquale) to keep things running smoothly.

Casting is now underway — courtesy of the same folks who populated Arrow and The Flash — for CBS’ Supergirl series, and TVLine has details on exactly what (and who) the DC Comics-based drama is looking for in two of its lead roles.
For Kara Zor-El aka Kara Danvers, the show is eyeing Caucasian females, age 22 to 26, to play 24. As the series’ mythology goes, Kara at age 12 was sent from her dying home planet of Krypton to Earth, where she was taken in by the Danvers, a foster family who taught her to be careful with her extraordinary powers. Take your lavender taffeta out of storage and grab the cheapest corsage you can find at the corner florist, because The Big Bang Theory is holding a prom.
In the CBS hitcom’s Nov. 6 episode, “The Prom Equivalency,” the gang recreates a high school prom on the roof of the guys’ apartment building. But as with any prom, jitters are to be had — namely by Sheldon, who feels pressure to participate in all the typical romantic traditions.

One of NCIS fans’ favorite recurring characters is bound for the Big Easy.
TVLine has learned exclusively that Diane Neal, on the heels of putting in her sixth appearance on NCIS earlier this month, next will guest-star as Agent Borin on the most-watched drama’s new spin-off, NCIS: New Orleans.
“The U.S. Coast Guard has a huge presence in New Orleans so to send Cgis Special Agent Abigail Borin down to help is an added bonus,” showrunner Gary Glasberg tells TVLine. “Diane Neal is a talented, fascinating, multi-layered actress and we’re thrilled to add her to the Nola mix.

Last time on NCIS, Gibbs and Cgis Agent Abigail Borin (Diane Neal) reunited to stop some pirates in a case involving stolen money from the drug cartels. I love Borin and hope we see her more often. We also had a chance to see McGee take the reins and lead the investigation from NCIS headquarters.
In this week's episode, "Parental Guidance Suggested," the team investigates the murder of a Navy commander's wife and discuss their Halloween costumes. The NCIS Halloween episodes are always awesome.

Well, NCIS fans seem a bit divided after last week's episode temporarily paired Tony with FBI Special Agent Leia Pendergast. It seemed that there was a hint of chemistry between the duo, but the thought of Tony romancing anyone but Ziva is still a touchy subject with many fans.
This week's episode of NCIS, "The San Dominick," finds Gibbs investigating a murder at sea during a joint NCIS and Coast Guard training mission. This brings back one of my favorite characters, Cgis Agent Abigail Borin, played by guest star Diane Neal. Hopefully, we can all get on board with that (pun intended). Jim Beaver (Supernatural) also guest stars as Captain Tom O'Rourke.

The War at Home: Gaspersz’s Film is Garbage Bin Exploitation
To truly address the putrid redolence of something like the film After, of such deficient quality that it’s unfathomable people will actually pay for a ticket to see this (not to mention the validating presence of Kathleen Quinlan), one must divulge the preposterous twist that proudly unfurls in the final act. Needless to say, there will be a major spoiler alert pertaining to what’s actually going on with this blighted undertaking, but consider it to be the warning signal to keep your hours for some much more fruitful activity than experiencing the offensive nature of this veracious stink-bomb.
Welcome to the upper crust, suburban milieu of the Valentino clan, a family of WASPy scions that appear to be on the verge of unavoidable implosion due to some insidious secret. The matriarch, Nora (Kathleen Quinlan) seems to...

Putting it nicely, After is not an easy film to sit through. Human emotion is not something that can easily be “manipulated,” and while I sincerely don’t want to use that word based on writer Sabrina Gennarino’s scripted intentions, no word better describes the gratuitous drama each Valentino family member subjects viewers to. Despair, deceit, treachery, withdrawal – no character is safe from a gamut of emotional follies, but after a while, the endless parade of obvious baggage becomes far too cumbersome for such a dreary travel. Even worse are the motivations for these actions, presented without coherence or detail in a way that makes any sort of meaningful attachment next to impossible. After never quite tries to be anything more than a cheap tissue waster, ending on a note that almost guilts you for enjoying no parts of the ride – a truly depressing affair with a baffling amount of anger.
