Being related to one of Hollywood’s greatest auteurs certainly comes with its privileges, as actor Will Wallace has been seen in his stepfather Terrence Malick’s last three films — and is also set for a part in his upcoming To the Wonder. This is not say Wallace isn’t a hard worker, as the actor/producer/director/writer has had a busy career the last decade-plus, and he’s now prepping for his biggest project thus far.
Penned by Kathleen Orillion, there’s not much known about his next directing effort Red Wing, only that it’s twisty and takes place in a small town in Texas. However, Wallace (pictured right) has wrangled an impressive ensemble for his feature, including Bill Paxton, Luke Perry, Frances Fisher, Joelle Carter, Glen Powell and Breann Johnson. [Variety/THR]

Jackie Earle Haley is signing on while Jay Baruchel is circling Jose Padilha's "Robocop" remake at MGM.

Ivanhoe
British actor Sam Riley ("Control," "On the Road") will play the title role in Iain Softley’s adaptation of Sir Walter Scott’s epic "Ivanhoe" at Morena Films and Egoli Tossell Film New GmbH. The project is being shot on 65mm with a script adapted by John Brownlow and James Jacks.
Set in 1194 after the failure of the Third Crusade, the action follows Wilfred of Ivanhoe, a Saxon who is out of favor with his father for his allegiance to the Norman king Richard I of England (aka Richard the Lionheart). What follows is a complicated story with many intersecting character arcs and subplots.
