Music is, simply put, in Ella Travolta's blood. "It's always been a big part of my life," she tells Popsugar. "I've grown up around music."
Of course, the 22-year-old didn't just grow up around music - she was raised by the star of one of the biggest movie musicals of all time. Her dad, John Travolta, famously starred in "Grease" alongside the late Olivia Newton-John, whom he recently paid tribute to at the 2023 Oscars. During her childhood, Ella recalls spending a lot of time bonding over music with both her father and late mother, Kelly Preston. "He was always singing a lot or just improvising song and dance," Ella says of her dad. "Same with my mom. That was always a big part of my life - playing music, and him singing along, and me singing with him. It's definitely been a huge inspiration."

Ella Bleu Travolta turned 22 in 2022, and she’s already lived a thousand lives. The young daughter of actor John Travolta and actress Kelly Preston has been through more in her short life than most people in their entire lives. She’s lost a brother, her mother, and someone who has been a part of her life since before she was born in 2022. That would be the late, great actress Kirstie Alley, with whom her mother and father were so close since she worked with John Travolta on the Look Who’s Talking films in the 80s and 90s. It was

When producer Robert Lantos began developing the big-budget historical drama series “Rise of the Raven,” adapting Hungarian author Bán Mór’s series of bestselling novels presented obvious challenges. “It’s an 11-volume novel, each volume being 500-600 pages long,” says Lantos. It took several writers and the better part of a decade to find a way forward, something the producer describes as “finding a creative solution to a jigsaw puzzle.”
With a budget that Lantos describes as “competitive with English-language productions of that scope and that size,” financing the series was the second challenge, with the producer determined to secure the majority of the show’s financing from the host country. “It’s ambitious. It’s certainly by far the biggest thing done in that part of the world, not just in Hungary,” he says. The last puzzle piece finally fell into place when Hungary’s National Film Institute (Nfi...

It is 1978 in the City of Angels and the hard-drinking washed-up sleuth Carson Phillips is having another boozy day through its atmospheric streets. There is a hint of innate coolness and self-deprecation in his elongated voiceover intro — you might even briefly mistake Carson, played by a one-note John Travolta, for a Philip Marlowe or Jake Gittes type. But “The Poison Rose,” an astonishingly listless neo-noir wannabe from director George Gallo (writer of 1988’s “Midnight Run”), is not the deliberately poor “Chinatown” imitation it starts off as — that could have been perversely daring, maybe even somewhat entertaining. It in fact becomes something a lot worse, when Carson heads to Galveston, Texas, in search of a missing person, at which point, viewers are taken hostage by this mix of mysterious exes, confusing accents, and desperately labored plotting.

"We live in a world that's full of risk." Lionsgate has released the official trailer for an indie noir thriller titled The Poison Rose, from writer/director George Gallo. Inspired by classic film noir stories, the film stars John Travolta as Carson Phillips, an ex-football star turned private eye working in Hollywood, who's got a soft spot for a lady in distress. He's recruited to go back down to his hometown of Galveston, Texas to search for a missing woman, ending up in all kinds of trouble. The impressive cast also features Morgan Freeman, Famke Janssen, Brendan Fraser, Peter Stormare, Ella Bleu Travolta, Kat Graham, Robert Patrick, Nadine Lewington, and Nick Vallelonga. I don't really know how this got made, and it looks exactly as it's described, without anything interesting or unique about it. Still might be a fun watch? John Gotti Jr. thinks the story of his father’s life should at least be playing on a few more screens on the Gambino family’s home turf. The son of the notorious mobster is distressed that “Gotti” is only playing a few theaters in Brooklyn.
“It’s not being shown in areas where the story happened and that’s a shame,” he said. “I don’t get it.”
Gotti Jr. has been working on getting the film off the ground for nearly a decade, and the biopic starring John Travolta finally arrives at 503 theaters this weekend. But the low-budget drama could get whacked at the box office.
The long-gestating project, which was directed by “Entourage” star Kevin Connolly, is now saddled with a 0% fresh score on Rotten Tomatoes, based on six reviews from the Cannes Film Festival, where it premiered on May 15 and Travolta made headlines boogieing onstage with 50 Cent at the after-party.

While recently appearing on Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Kelly gushed about her long marriage to John and recalled the first moment they met while filming the 1989 movie The Experts. "Well, I was not that happily married [at the time] let's put it that way. I was really with the wrong person," she said of her previous, two-year marriage to Kevin Gauge. "But this is what I see coming across the lobby: I'm sitting there ready to screen test and I see [John]." Kelly explained that she smitten right away when she saw her now-husband's demeanor. She then tried to re-enact the moment which led host Andy to ask her, "what's the best and worst parts about being married to John Travolta?" A post shared by Kelly Preston (@therealkellypreston) on May 31, 2018 at 10:06am Pdt "There [are] too many best things!

John Travolta was honored with Variety’s first Cinema Icon Award at a party on Tuesday night at the Hotel du Cap in Cap d’Antibes in Southern France, following the world premiere in Cannes of his new mob biopic “Gotti.”
Arriving alongside wife and co-star Kelly Preston, daughter and “Gotti” actress Ella Bleu Travolta, director Kevin Connolly, producer Edward Walson, and members of the “Gotti” cast, Travolta said it was a “humbling moment” to be honored by Variety 40 years after his first appearance in Cannes.
The star said the reception to the new film, which will be released June 15 by MoviePass, in conjunction with Vertical Entertainment, “blew me away.”
“There’s nothing like the Cannes Film Festival” to premiere a new film, he said.

"This life of ours is a wonderful life... if you can get away with it."
We've got a new trailer for John Travolta's upcoming crime drama Gotti, which tells the story of the rise and fall of one of the most famous mafia bosses of all time, John Gotti. Travolta takes on the role of the infamous 'Teflon Don' and it looks like he gives a solid performance. Gotti seemed like a bit of an over-the-top kind of guy and Travolta nails that here. This looks like the best film project that the actor has been a part of in a long time.
Gotti follows infamous crime boss John Gotti’s (Travolta) rise to become the “Teflon Don” of the Gambino Crime Family in New York City. Spanning three decades and recounted by his son John Jr. (Spencer Lofranco), Gotti examines Gotti’s tumultuous life as he and his...

"You'll need the support of all five boroughs." Vertical Ent. has debuted a second official trailer for crime thriller Gotti, spanning three decades telling the story of legendary crime boss John Gotti Sr., as played by John Travolta. The story focuses on Gotti's rise to power in New York, as well as his wife Victoria Gotti, played by Kelly Preston, along with his son John Gotti Jr., played by Spencer Lofranco. This film was slated as a last minute premiere at the Cannes Film Festival, which seems like an odd pick. It was originally set to open last December, but has been held until this June. The full cast includes Stacy Keach, Pruitt Taylor Vince, Megan Leonard, Lydia Hull, William DeMeo, Tyler Jon Olson, Leo Rossi, and Ella Bleu Travolta. This seems like a big film, and Travolta looks menacing, but I'm not excited at all to see it. Here's...

"I will build something that nobody can destroy." Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for a new crime thriller titled Gotti, spanning three decades telling the story of legendary crime boss John Gotti Sr., as played by John Travolta. The pitch for this makes it seem like it wants to be the next Godfather, but the footage does not live up to that comparison. Travolta actually looks good in the role, but the rest of it doesn't seem that impressive to me, yet another typical mob crime biopic. Here's the...

Six years and two title changes after the project was announced, John Travolta will finally star as the titular Gambino family Mafioso in “Gotti.” Good Morning America debuted the film’s first trailer on Sept. 26, depicting the allegedly Gotti-ordered hit on his predecessor, Paul Castellano (Donald John Volpenhein), followed by his own demise from “The Teflon Don”—gleaming pompadour, designer suits—to a bald, craggy-faced inmate. Gotti died serving a murder sentence in 2002 at age 61; the cause was throat cancer. One of his sons, John Gotti Jr., helped advise director Kevin Connolly, and even provided Travolta with his father’s jewelry and ties to get into character.

John Travolta takes on the role of crime boss John Gotti in the upcoming film Gotti. It looks like he gives an incredible performance in the movie. It's good to see the actor taking on good projects again. This is probably one of the best movie roles he's taken on in a long time. This looks like it could be a great film and I'll definitely be checking it out.

John Travolta's little girl is all grown up!
Ella Bleu Travolta joined her famous father as he attended the premiere of his new movie "Killing Season," also featuring Robert De Niro, last Thursday night in NYC.
The 13-year-old looked beautiful (and like a true New Yorker) as she opted for an all-black ensemble and a genuine, bashful smile. We think she looks like a spitting image of her A-list father, too!
A budding actress herself, Ella Bleu's last role was in the 2009 movie "Old Dogs," which starred her parents and Robin Williams. You will also find her next in the film "Gotti: In The Shadow Of My Father," due to come out in 2014.

Date with dad! Ella Bleu Travolta happily joined her dad, John Travolta, at the premiere for his new movie, Killing Season, on Thursday, June 20, in New York City. Dressed in an all-black ensemble -- from ankle booties to her black cardigan -- the 13-year-old actress looked calm and cute on the red carpet, smiling next to her actor dad, 59. John's wife, Kelly Preston, did not attend the premiere. The couple, who wed in 1991, also have a 2-year-old son, Benjamin. (They sadly lost their other son, [...]...

Ella Bleu Travolta, daughter of married actors John Travolta and Kelly Preston, is not a little girl anymore. The 13-year-old walked the red carpet with her father for the New York premiere of "Killing Season" at the Sunshine Landmark Cinema earlier this week, looking lovely in a simple black dress.
Ella Bleu is wearing heels, but still -- she stands almost as tall as her dad, who is a hearty 6'2". You go, girl. Rock those heels.
"Killing Season" stars Travolta and Robert DeNiro as two veterans of the Bosnian war who are settling an old score between themselves in the Rocky Mountain wilderness. It opens nationwide July 12.

The power of Cannes has brought another tidbit of casting news. The mafia flick which has been gestating for years, Gotti, now has Anthony Hopkins attached. Hopkins will join John Travolta and his wife Kelly Preston, both already confirmed to star. Hopkins’ role is as-yet undisclosed, though our guess is he’ll be in the running for an old school mobster. Expect him to hone his vocal skills and bust out his Italian American accent!
Gotti is based on the story of real-life mobster boss, John Gotti. Travolta has snagged the plum role, and his wife Preston will play Gotti’s wife, Victoria. The casting announcements for the project have changed dramatically over recent years. At one time Lindsay Lohan, Al Pacino and Joe Pesci were in talks. From the film’s IMDb page, the only other actors still attached are Chazz Palminteri and Ella Bleu Travolta.

The pre-production on Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father has been more hectic than most films could withstand before hitting theaters. Casting confusion, directors being switched, actors filing lawsuits over money — just a damn mess on every front. And it may be for nothing; ShowBiz411 informs us of the project being halted as a result of producer Mark Fiore not having money. Really. This is being delayed because they simply don’t have the proper funds.
It’s even come to the point where John Travolta, Al Pacino, Barry Levinson, and others can’t be paid when they were expecting something. Now, I’m no producing expert, but shouldn’t financing — e.g., making sure that there is funding — have been kept track of? Fiore promises that “money is coming from overseas,” but when (or if) that comes in is of the essence.
That’s because “almost nothing has...

Benjamin Walker is virtually an unknown at this point, but he recently wrapped the title role in Timur Bekmambetov's Abraham Lincoln: Vampire Hunter and has now landed the role of the archangel Michael in Alex Proyas' Paradise Lost, the action epic battle between good and evil, inspired by the John Milton poem. As Michael, Walker will battle Bradley Cooper as Lucifer, in battle scenes using what is described as "cutting-edge visual effects that will make these battles resemble 300 meets Lord of the Rings -- but with winged warriors." Production will begin in January in Sydney and Proyas spoke with Deadline about the film, so click the link if you're interested in learning more. [Deadline]

After changing its director and its title, Gotti: In the Shadow of My Father is getting ready to roll cameras this coming January, and it may do so with a rising star in a major role. Gotti: Three Generations hasn’t even gone before cameras yet, but it’s still had such an eventful pre-production. Not only did Nick Cassavetes sign on direct and then leave, but Barry Levinson took up the reigns, bringing Al Pacino along with him. Then, the two of them decided that they would make an adaptation of a Philip Roth novel, titled The Humbling. This was an especially surprising development, as they expressed a desire to make this first; naturally, this would cause a delay in Gotti‘s production.

There are few actors with more pedigree in the crime/gangster genre of film than Al Pacino. Launched into the A-list when he played Michael Corleone in ‘The Godfather’, his iconic association with the genre was further cemented by his role as Tony Montana in Brian De Palma’s ‘Scarface’; the film which many a rapper over the years has chosen as their definitive guide to success (either they completely missed the point or they switched off just after the everything’s going great, money-stacking montage). Pacino is set to return to the genre with a role in the upcoming mob movie, ‘Gotti: Three Generations’, in which he will play Gambino crime family underboss Neil Dellacroce, an associate and mentor to infamous mobster John Gotti Sr, who is being played by John Travolta.

Godfather star to return to gangster territory in Barry Levinson's forthcoming film about the Gambino crime family
Al Pacino is to return to gangster movies after signing up to star in Barry Levinson's forthcoming biopic Gotti: Three Generations.
The Oscar-winning star of The Godfather and Carlito's Way will play Gambino crime family underboss Aniello "Neil" Dellacroce, an associate and mentor to John Gotti Sr. John Travolta is playing the latter role, drafting in his immediate family to fill out the rest of the Gotti household: his wife, Kelly Preston, is playing Gotti Sr's wife Victoria, and his daughter Ella Bleu Travolta is playing the former mobster's daughter Angel Gotti.
The real-life Dellacroce died of lung cancer in 1985, a few months before he was due to go on trial on charges of racketeering and supervising "crews" involved in loan-sharking, illegal gambling, hijacking and a number of killings over almost two decades.

Vulture brings news that Darren Aronofsky, after backing out of The Wolverine, is now eyeing a new project called Human Nature. The fifteen-year-old original spec script from Jeff Welch tells of a man who is cryogenically frozen and wakes up years later to a world in which humans have become pets of another species. George Clooney has attached himself for the lead role. Warner Bros.-based Akiva Goldsman (I Am Legend) is currently budgeting the project, but given Clooney's attachment and the Warner's possible involvement, it sounds like the film could be a larger production than we're accustomed to seeing from Aronofsky. I suppose that was bound to happen after the breakthrough success of Black Swan. Human Nature could be his next project if things progress as planned, though I have no idea what that means for his other proposed projects (Machine Men, Jackie and The Tiger). Stay tuned.

But it’s true: Pacino has signed on for a role in Gotti: Three Generations. The man who, for some, will always be Michael Corleone has agreed to play Gambino crime family associate/underboss Neil Dellacroce, who acted as both friend and mentor to John Gotti Sr (John Travolta).Gotti has been through the wringer lately, with original director Nick Cassavetes stepping away, only to be replaced by Barry Levinson and James Toback is giving the script a polish before shooting kicks off. There has also been some debate as to whether Lindsay Lohan would be cast and what she would be playing, but now she’s apparently on board as Kim Gotti, wife of John Gotti Jr (a role that has yet to be cast). It's been an interesting road while casting Fiore Films' "Gotti: Three Generations," and things are only getting more intriguing.
While John Travolta has remained the constant choice for the role of John Gotti Sr., Lindsay Lohan was in -- then out -- then in again for a new role, while director Nick Cassavetes bailed on the project in April to be replaced by Barry Levinson.
In a bit of seemingly good news for the mob family flick, "Godfather" alum Al Pacino has signed on to play the part of Neil Dellacroce. According to The Hollywood Reporter, Pacino's character serves as the Gambino crime family underboss, as well as a mentor to Travolta's Gotti Sr.
Who could have predicted that we would be seeing LiLo and Pacino on the same screen? Not us, that's for sure.
