Seres Genesis is the film adaptation of a Mexican graphic novel about the invasion of Earth. A young girl survives a crash caused by an alien craft and she delivers a cryptic message that seems to suggest the end of humanity. A secret group within a giant technology firm investigates paranormal activities and Mayan end of days prophesies. This group, led by Mariel (Alejandra Barros), sets out to decode the message and finds that aliens have always been among us.
Frankly it sounds like a bunch of gobbledeegook, but the trailer has a nice creepy-cheesy feel to it and this first entry of a trilogy has supposedly become a cult hit in Mexico.
Perhaps after Et went home he hit puberty, got pissy and came back to kick our asses? Up and coming director Angel Mario Huerta (Inspiración) wrote, directed and produced this film,...

Writer/director Angel Mario Huerta’s Seres: Genesis, opening this Halloween in the States after premiering in its native Mexico last week, marks the first installment in a trilogy of apocalyptic alien invasion flicks (with Seres: Evolution and Seres: Extinction to follow) based on Huerta’s popular Spanish-language graphic novel. Genesis promises to dish out a Latin-flavored sci-fi thriller experience, while delivering a fresh take on those tired conspiracy theories of 2012’s dreaded doomsday prophesies. See exclusive pics and comments from Seres: Genesis below the jump, as well as the film’s trailer.

There's a Mexican sci-fi film called Seres: Genesis that's becoming a cult hit but no one has heard of it up in the Us. Seres: Genesis is only the first film in a sci-fi series based on a Mexican graphic novel series that has everything from flying saucers to mysticism to archaeologists in action to UFO hunters, and lots of (low budget) special effects. A trailer with subtitles recently arrived online because indie distributor 24 frames picked up the film (via Heat Vision) and will be bringing it to the Us in late October. This looks pretty cool, but honestly it has a SyFy Channel feel to it that I can't get past. But I still might check it out. Watch below! Watch the official trailer for Angel Mario Huerta's Seres: Genesis: When a young girl is found amid the wreckage of an accident caused by an alien craft,...

Mexican alien invasion movie “Seres: Genesis” has found an American distributor. 24 Frames has acquired the North American rights to the film. Directed by Angel Mario Huerta, the movie will hit Mexican screens on September 24, while a Us release is being planned for late in October. The movie’s tale is set in motion when a young girl is found amid the wreckage of an accident caused by an alien craft. The head of a secretive task force investigating the paranormal, played by telenovela star Alejandra Barros, must solve the riddle of a frightening message delivered by the girl, which suggests humanity is on the verge of extermination by a hostile alien force. “Seres” is based on a trilogy of Mexican graphic novels from Huma Comics. To coincide with the release of the film, the first of the three installments will be translated into English. From the trailer, this looks like it could be really cool,...

Yep, there's yet another high-gloss Mexican science fiction import on the way in the form director Angel Mario Huerta's X-Files-esque Seres: Genesis. We don't know too much about this one other then it's done shooting and waiting on a 2010 release date. I image the film will make an appearance at Afm at which time it'll start to see some more press. Just remember, you heard about it here first folks.
Right away the trailer shows off some stellar photography courtesy of cinematographer Alejandro Cantú who uses the Red One to full effect. There's also some stellar FX work by the end of the trailer so stick with it.
Synopsis:
Owal Tec Investigates the paranormal activities that are taking place around the country.
Watch the trailer for Seres: Genesis after the break.
Embedded video stripped, see full HTML version.
