We think Shoshanna Shapiro, the fourth and possibly quirkiest lady in the quartet on "Girls," is kind of amazing. Not only did she introduce us to the best game show ever, "Baggage," but her mile-a-minute observations about life and love always make us -- literally -- laugh out loud.
At first Shoshanna seems like the most innocent and timid of the group, but she's actually a lot braver than you might think -- could you show up to a warehouse party alone? Could you use your kickboxing skills on a real man? Could you rip off your sparkly skirt while running down an alley in Bushwick?
Her great track suits and adorable smile mean we'll always be on #TeamShosh. She’s so great, we could puke.

After months of publicity, HBO's new sitcom "Girls," written and directed by and starring Lena Dunham, premiered tonight. Was it everything we were promised? Is it worth watching? Here's our take:
Margaret Wheeler Johnson: Hi guys
Lori Fradkin: Hi!
Lori Leibovich: hello
Lori Fradkin: Can I just say something first? I find it kind of incredible that a few months ago I thought I was going to be the "in the know" one about "Girls"
Like it would be this hidden gem that I would tell people about
Lori Leibovich: I know! I remember when you flagged it
and thinking oh so glad Lori told me about this!
Margaret Wheeler Johnson: Blame the SXSW rent-a-lady-bike campaign.
Lori Fradkin: The HBO publicity machine is on top of its game on this one
Like beyond its game if that's a thing
Margaret Wheeler Johnson: I do think it's great that they were...

Four women. New York City. Complicated dating lives. Strong friendships. Open discussion of taboo subjects. It didn't surprise anyone when HBO's new series, "Girls," garnered comparisons to HBO's other quartet-of-women-driven sitcom, "Sex and the City."
The two shows have distinct differences, of course. The women of "Girls" are in their 20s, they're poor, they don't yet have careers, they live in Brooklyn and they have quite a bit of decidedly unsexy sex. "Sex and the City" depicts a group of women in their far-more-polished 30s -- they're unapologetically wealthy, they have covetable jobs, they exist almost-solely in Manhattan and the sex they have somehow always looks good -- even when it's awful. "Satc" is more like a cool aunt than a sister to "Girls," but the show's creator and star, Lena Dunham, doesn't deny the relationship: "This show couldn't exist without 'Sex and the City', both for what...

London, March 17: Two New York Times journalists have claimed that they've developed a perfect formula that can predict which celebrity marriages will end in divorce.
Science reporter John Tierney and statistician Garth Sundem came up with the equation after spending years analysing celebrity gossip columns and reports, the Daily Mail reported.
Five years ago, Tierney and Sundem set themselves the lofty goal of predicting the success or failure of celebrity marriages - in the name of science.
The duo put their expertise in statistics and science reporting to good use by devising an equation that they argued.

A formula that was developed in 2006 predicting the lifespans of celebrity marriages has had variable success, it has been revealed more than five years later. Using the 'Sundem/Tierney Unified Celebrity Theory', the New York Times posted predictions on the likes of Ashton Kutcher and Demi Moore, Ben Affleck and Jennifer Garner, and Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes several years ago. While the break-ups for Kutcher and Moore, Britney Spears and Kevin Federline, and Pamela Anderson and Kid Rock were correctly foreshadowed, others like a split for Cruise and Holmes and Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie were wrongly predicted. Elsewhere, Affleck and Damon's marriages have remained intact as forecast. Garth Sundem and John Tierney, who came up with the formula, have (more)...

On February 12, we celebrate the bicentennials of two of the greatest figures of the 19th century: Abraham Lincoln and Charles Darwin. In hailing Lincoln, bells will peal from sea to shining sea. The same date is also designated around the world as Darwin Day, and in Shrewsbury, Shropshire, his birthplace, a cake with 200 candles will be presented in the Square, and everyone will be offered a slice. If you're of school age, living in Shropshire, and your birthday is Feb. 12, the city invites you to Darwin's Birthday Bash. This is a grand celebration for a man whose Theory of Evolution promoted atheism, inspired Hitler's genocides, and thinks your grandfather was a monkey.
None of those things are true, but such claims are what I've been dealing with since Dec. 3, 2008, when I published a blog entry praising Darwin's Theory and castigating Ben Stein's documentary "Expelled," which claimed the opposing theory...
