Sky have released first look images for a new Sky Original drama, “Unwanted.”
Inspired by the book “Bilal,” an investigative book from journalist Fabrizio Gatti, the eight-part series tells the story of an undercover human rights defender who is helping migrants journey from Africa to Europe as they battle human traffickers and government officials.
Stefano Bises (“Gomorrah”) created and wrote the series in collaboration with with the collaboration of Alessandro Valenti, Bernardo Pellegrini and Michela Straniero. It has just gone into production in Milan, Italy. Marco Bocci (“Fino all’ultimo battito”), pictured above, Jessica Schwarz (“Romy”) and Dada Fungula Bozela (“Snabba Cash”) star alongside Sylvester Groth (“Inglourious Basterds”) and Scot Williams (“Memory”).
They are joined by Hassan Najib, Jonathan Berlin, Jason Derek Prempeh, Cecilia Dazzi, Francesco Acquaroli, Barbara Auer, Marco Palvetti, Denise Capezza, Nuala Peberdy, Samuel Kalambay, Amadou Mbow, Edward Apeagyei, Reshny N’Kouka, Onyinye Odokoro and Massimo De Lorenzo.

The specialty box office space has quickly adapted to the changing film landscape as many are shifting to virtual theatrical openings. Many indie and arthouse titles do day and date releases and are VOD-only so the transition, for the most part, is familiar territory for many distributors and production companies.

Exclusive: IFC Films has taken U.S. rights on Resistance, Jonathan Jakubowicz’s Second World War-set drama starring Jesse Eisenberg.
Edgar Ramirez, Ed Harris, Clémence Poésy, and Matthias Schweighöfer are also in the movie, which is the true story of a group of girl and boy scouts who created a network that saved the lives of ten thousand orphans whose parents had been killed by the Nazis.
It centers on an aspiring Jewish actor (Eisenberg) whose efforts to help the children leads him into the world of pantomime – he would go on to become the legendary French mime artist Marcel Marceau.
Producers are Claudine Jakubowicz, Dan Maag, Thorsten Schumacher, Carlos García de Paredes, Patrick Zorer and Jonathan Jakubowicz. IFC Films will release in 2020.
The deal was negotiated by Arianna Bocco, Evp of Acquisitions and Productions at IFC Films, Aijah Keith of IFC films and CAA Media Finance on behalf of the filmmakers.

Exclusive: Four-time Oscar nominee Ed Harris (The Hours), Edgar Ramirez (Carlos) and Cléménce Poesy (The Tunnel) are among an impressive lineup of U.S. and international actors joining Jesse Eisenberg (The Social Network) in World War II story Resistance.
Harris will portray General George S. Patton in the film based on the inspirational true story of iconic French mime artist Marcel Marceau who worked with the French Resistance to help save the lives of thousands of orphans during the war. Berlin -- Would-be production giant UFA Cinema has poached some more top talent from competitor Constantin Film as it gears up its slate for 2009.
Patrick Zorer, a production exec on Constantin’s “Resident Evil: Extinction” and producer of Doris Dorrie’s recent sleeper hit “Cherry Blossoms,” has been named Ufa’s new production manager.
UFA has also nabbed Nina Maag, currently with Constantin subsidiary Rat Pack and whose resume includes this year’s hit “The Wave,” for a leading production position.
Oliver Dressnandt, another former Constantin alumnus who jumped to Ufa this summer, has been promoted to the post of production executive, coordinating between development, production and management at the Berlin-based group.
Also joining UFA as a producer is up-and-comer Mattias Adler, whose first independent project, “Novemberkind,” has been a critical favorite and recently won the audience award at the Max Ophuls festival.
