In the several California communities in which he lived over the years,
Drew Wilson was widely known for his portrayals of inventor Thomas
Edison, to whom he bore a striking resemblance. Sponsored by the Edison
Company, Wilson's Edison shows were aimed at encouraging young students
to pursue careers as inventors and innovators, delighted youngsters for
more than two decades, and culminated in his appearance as the famous
inventor atop the Edison Company's Rose Parade Float on New Year's Day,
1992.
