Even with the defection of more than 50 advertisers, Bill O’Reilly is weathering his latest sexual-harassment scandal. Ratings for “The O’Reilly Factor” are up, his new book “Old School” is a bestseller, and he just signed a rich new deal with Fox News Channel.
That makes this an even tougher test for corporate parent 21st Century Fox, and leaders James and Lachlan Murdoch. While O’Reilly is apparently immune to dishonor (and to fleeing sponsors, as long as his faithful viewers tune in), the corporation’s reputation is on the line. And the Murdochs haven’t done much to condemn the allegations of sexual harassment, or detail how they plan to expand efforts to make sure employees, and particularly women, feel safe in the workplace. A hotline isn’t enough.

With the nasty business of cancelling its two bubble dramas, ABC Family finally ordered more episodes of The Fosters and Twisted along with a third season of Switched at Birth. I’m relieved questions of “Where are they going with Jude?” won’t go unanswered like Huge fans’ questions about Alistair.
Lifetime has ordered a pilot about a staffer on a dating reality show whose job involves manipulating the cast to ensure drama. Former Buffy, Grey’s Anatomy and Glee writer Marti Noxon is tasked with the adaptation, which probably means I should brace myself.
When CBS CEO Les Moonves announced the renewal of Under the Dome, he dismissed critics’ concerns saying, “Why can’t they be under the dome for a long period of time? Update, 12 Pm: After considering different scenarios, NBC has opted not to double pump Revolution following the pre-emption of last night’s episode for a news special on the Boston bombings. Since the series had been slated for an originals-only run, the second-season finale, previously scheduled for May 27, will now air a week later, on Monday, June 3rd. Previous, Monday Pm: NBC is the only broadcast network to pre-empt its regular primetime lineup tonight for coverage of today’s deadly bombings at the Boston Marathon. The Brian Williams-anchored news special at 10 Pm replaces an original episode of NBC’s freshman drama Revolution, which will now air next Monday. In addition to NBC News team’s desire to offer up-to-the-minute coverage of today’s events in NBC’s primetime on top of doing a wall-to-wall primetime coverage of the bombings on cable sibling MSNBC, I hear also influencing the pre-emption decision...

The Voice continues to prove it’s a rising star for NBC as it launched into its battle rounds last night.
Monday’s two-hour episode edged up 2 percent to a season-high rating among adults 18-49. Airing against all-original competition, The Voice continued its rise with new judges coaches Usher and Shakira. Not only does this multi-week climb go against the usual post-premiere trend for TV shows, it also helps erode an early criticism of The Voice — that the show’s popularity drops once the chair-spinning blind auditions conclude.
If anything, one would have expected The Voice to go down tonight...

As news continues to develop in the wake of the explosions at the Boston Marathon, the major television networks are deciding whether or not to adjust their schedules.
According to multiple reports, NBC will preempt tonight's scheduled episode of "Revolution" to air a one-hour news special focused on the tragic events in Boston, hosted by Brian Williams.
There is no word on how the move will impact the remainder of the season for "Revolution" -- which is scheduled to air new episodes until its May 27 season finale.
Meanwhile, CBS will stick with new episodes of its regular comedy block and "Hawaii Five-0" as planned, while there is no word yet from ABC (which has a live episode of "Dancing with the Stars" scheduled) or Fox.
Among the cable news networks, CNN's Anderson Cooper will host his "AC 360" nightly show live from Boston tonight at 8 p.m. and 10 p.m. Et.

It was the No. 1 show of the night in viewers and the key demo.
Two and A Men was also first in viewers (13.5 million) and adults 18-49 (up .2 percent to a 4.2/12). Person of Interest averaged 14.2 million viewers and a 3.0/8 — up a slight .1 — while Elementary averaged 10.6 million and was up .2 in 18-49 (2.3/6). Overall,...

New York -- Duck callers, pawn shop operators and zombies offer the latest evidence of how the television world has expanded.
CBS was the most popular television last week with six of its programs reaching season highs in ratings: "2 Broke Girls," "Mike & Molly," "Hawaii Five-0," "Criminal Minds," "CSI: Crime Scene Investigation" and "The Amazing Race.
Yet it was also a big week for some cable networks as the big broadcasters head toward their holiday season hibernation.
The Tru TV network scored the highest ratings in the network's history with the sixth season premiere of "Hardcore Pawn," seen by 3.1 million people last Tuesday, the Nielsen company said. Spike TV also achieved a high-water mark, the network's highest-rated special, for its Eddie Murphy comedy show.
AMC said the Sunday night audience for "Walking Dead" at 10 p.m. Eastern was 10.5 million. Add in the viewers from the two other showings of that episode Sunday,...
