One of the great Latin heroes will finally come to the big screen.
In “The Liberator,” it follows the well-known historical Latin figure Simon Bolivar, a military and political leader who helped several Latin-American countries to seek independence from the Spanish Empire.
He is revered in several countries today, including Venezuela, Colombia, Panama, Ecuador, Peru and Bolivia. Bolivia and Venezuela (the Bolivarian Republic of Venezuela) is named after him.
Edgar Ramirez plays the title role of the great leader. It also stars Erich Wildpret and Maria Valverde.
“The Liberator” will have a showing this Sunday night at the Los Angeles Film Festival. It will be in theaters on August 22.

The Toronto International Film Festival® has announced the addition of 3 Galas and 19 Special Presentations to the 2013 Festival programme, including a further 12 World Premieres. Representing countries from around the world, the Gala and Special Presentations programmes offer a lineup of diverse titles and genres.

Maya Entertainment has picked up the Venezuelan shot La Hora Cero for distribution in the United States. This is a crime thriller whose story involves a pack of criminals taking over a hospital. A 24 hour hospital strike leaves the gang with no choice but to takeover in order to save their friend. A hostage situation ensues.
This title will release in the Us March 14th and fans of international thrillers can have a look at the trailer for La Hora Cero inside. More details to come.
