The strange world of Joe Exotic is too big for just Netflix’s Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness to contain. That’s why ID has announced a new project that will explore everyone’s favorite tiger king called Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic.
ID’s new limited series will delve further into the world of both former G.W. Zoo owner Joe Exotic and his nemesis, Carole Baskin. ID reports that this sequel will feature never-before-seen footage from Joe himself (guess something must have survived that studio fire?) and will look into the question at the forefront of Tiger King viewers’ minds: did Carole Baskin kill her husband, Don Lewis?
Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic will also check into other secrets from Joe’s past, as well as whatever other skeletons Jeff Lowe and Doc Antle most surely have in their respective closets. The series...

Investigation Discovery is jumping on the “Tiger King” phenomenon, greenlighting a new program that it bills as the “definitive sequel” to the hit Netflix docuseries.
“Investigating the Strange World of Joe Exotic” will examine the life of Joseph “Joe Exotic” Maldonado-Passage and explore his rival, Carole Baskin, whom Maldonado-Passage has accused of killing her first husband. The limited series is expected to premiere later this year on ID.
In a press release, ID claimed the show will focus on “the investigation you didn’t get to see, revealing the secrets only Joe knows, the exclusive footage that has never been shown and the search to answer the one question every person in America is asking themselves right now: although she’s denied it, is Carole Baskin responsible for the disappearance of her husband, Don Lewis?”

It's a fact: Reality programs are minimal risk with the chance of huge rewards. And with Syfy finding a lot of success in series like "Ghost Hunters," "Destination Truth" and "Face-Off," it's no wonder they want to continue pushing reality into 2012. So it's likely little surprise that Syfy is beefing up its executive ranks within unscripted programming, hiring five people who have worked in everything from "Sister Wives" and "Dallas Cowboy Cheerleaders" to "Hoarding: Buried Alive" and "Sarah Palin's Alaska." Now working for Syfy, according to The Hollywood Reporter, are Robyn Lattaker-Johnson, Wayne Sampson and Colin Whelan -- all vice presidents of alternative programming. Joining them are Tori Socha and Andrew Whitney, who will work as directors in reality programming for the channel. Syfy ...
