- Sued to stop Gary Graver from auctioning her father Orson Welles' original Oscar for Citizen Kane (1941)--believed to have been lost--then placed it for sale. The Academy of Motion Picture Arts and Sciences--which gave her a substitute statuette--sued to block its sale. A California court ruled that, since the agreement she signed with the Academy regarding the sale of the statuette pertained to the replacement only, she "has the unrestricted property rights in the original Oscar, which she may dispose of as she sees fit." Welles never joined the Academy.

- As of October 1999, she was living in Las Vegas, NV. She appeared in dozens of TV commercials and made personal appearances for years in Las Vegas for Courtesy Oldsmobile-Izusu-Kia, an auto dealership which she might have owned or had a financial interest in during the 1990s. That particular dealership is gone but there are still a couple of other dealerships named Courtesy in Las Vegas.
