After weeks of being publicly plagued by sexual harassment allegations from multiple women, Bill O’Reilly‘s two decade-long career at Fox News has come to an end in the wake of multiple allegations of sexual harassment.
O’Reilly, 67, joined the network in 1996 to anchor The O’Reilly Factor and quickly became Fox News’ most prominent face — and favorite of then-chairman and CEO Roger Ailes, who was ousted last July over his own sexual harassment allegations. IFC has renewed Brockmire for a second season — just hours before the new, Hank Azaria-led comedy steps up to the plate.
Brockmire, which stars its executive producer Azaria (The Simpsons) as the titular character, follows a famous baseball announcer 10 years after a public meltdown (triggered by his learning of his wife’s infidelity) that ruined his reputation and made him a viral sensation. The show’s cast also includes Amanda Peet (Togetherness) as the strong-willed owner of the Morristown Frackers minor league team and Tyrel Jackson Williams (Lab Rats) as an social media-savvy intern.
“This show is the most fun I’ve ever had.

In a new report published on Saturday, The New York Times claims that Bill O’Reilly and Fox News have paid $13 million in harassment settlements involving five different women who have accused O’Reilly of misconduct. Of the five, two settlements are said to have been reached following the departure of former Fox News chairman Roger Ailes, who resigned last July in the wake of a harassment suit filed against him by former network personality Gretchen Carlson.

You might not have realized that Chris Brown‘s guest appearance on black-ish happened Wednesday night. That’s likely because, after an initial publicity push, the show made hardly a peep about his participation in this week’s episode.

Bill O’Reilly was a guest on Fox & Friends Tuesday morning and had an “interesting” comment about California Congresswoman Maxine Waters. Apparently O’Reilly wasn’t fully able to listen to what Waters had to say because her “James Brown Wig” was too distracting to him. When he elaborated he said, “I was looking at the James Brown wig,” O’Reilly said, while his co-hosts laughed hysterically. “If we have a picture of James Brown… It’s the same one.” The one

A cry for his removal from office isn’t the kind of thing you’d expect a member of Donald Trump’s cabinet to tweet about their boss. The offending tweet came after California Democratic Representative Maxine Waters urged followers on Twitter to “Get ready for impeachment.” “Sue His Very Soul Maxine,” Chao’s account replied soon after. Unsurprisingly, the tweet was very quickly deleted, and the Dot issued a statement soon after blaming “an employee with access to.

Gardena, Calif. — Etta James was remembered at a service Saturday attended by hundreds of friends, family and fans as a woman who triumphed against all odds to break down cultural and musical barriers in a style that was unfailingly honest.
The Rev. Al Sharpton eulogized James in a rousing speech, describing her remarkable rise from poverty and pain to become a woman whose music became an enduring anthem for weddings and commercials.
Perhaps most famously, President Barack Obama and the first lady shared their first inaugural ball dance to a version of the song sung by Beyonce. Sharpton on Saturday opened his remarks by reading a statement from the president.
"Etta will be remembered for her legendary voice and her contributions to our nation's musical heritage," Obama's statement read.

The same U.S. Democratic lawmaker who wishes Fox News and MSNBC would go away also doesn't like the idea of Comcast merging with NBC Universal.
"I worry that a media merger of this size has the potential to leave consumers with lesser programming and higher rates," Sen. Jay Rockefeller wrote in a letter to FCC Chairman Julius Genachowski released Saturday.
While Rockefeller complains that the merger could lead to less competition and choice, it's a concern that apparently doesn't extend to consumers who might choose to watch Fox News or MSNBC, considering comments made by the West Virginia lawmaker a month ago.
"There's a little bug inside of me which wants to get the FCC to say to Fox and MSNBC, 'Out. Off. End. Goodbye.' It would be a big favor to political discourse," Rockefeller said at a meeting in November.

The maliciously edited Shirley Sherrod video was a pretty big mess for TV news, but at least networks managed to escape taking all the blame. The same can't be said for Fox News' Greta Van Susteren, whose show made "a doozy of a mistake" on Monday by flashing footage of Sherrod while discussing California Democrat Maxine Waters' alleged ethical violations.
Now, this might be an understandable mistake if these women resembled each other in any way other than the color of their skin.
Susteren took to her blog to explain what went wrong:
"What happened?" she writes, "I hate to tell you but we need to fess up to this one. Somehow when we were talking about Congresswoman Maxine Waters during the news show, tape went up on our screen of Shirley Sherrod and not Congresswoman Waters. Yes, a very bad mistake and a painful one for which we are very apologetic.

NBC Universal has a race problem. That was made clear last month during congressional hearings over the company's proposed sale to the cable giant Comcast, when critics took turns blasting NBCU for its diversity record. Stanley Washington, president and chief executive officer of the National Coalition of African American Owned Media, called the company a "plantation." Producer Suzanne de Passe decried the media consolidation that the merger would typify as harmful to minorities. But the most stinging criticism came from U.S. Rep. Maxine Waters, D-Calif., who accused NBCU of trying to bribe her and bemoaned the dearth of African Americans working in front of and behind the camera. "I really liked 'Girlfriends,' " Waters said, referring to the defunct CW ensemble sitcom about four African-American women. "We don't have any more of that."Indeed we don't. When the broadcast networks launch the new TV season this fall,...

Is it just me or is the awards race this year a little boring? Nothing is moving the dial as Oscar pundits seem to have had their hands when it comes to tossing out much early praise.
So far the one film that should have everyone standing up cheering is Lee Daniels and Lionsgate's Precious, but I don't even want to speculate as to why people are now only focusing on the negative and wondering if Mo'Nique is killing her Oscar chances. EW's Dave Karger is the latest to bring it up wondering if dirt-digger Roger Friedman's piece on Mo'Nique's demands for appearance fees will hurt her chances. Karger remembers his interview with her from earlier in the year when she said, "Any buzz is appreciated. The NAACP Image Awards, the Oscars, the SAG Award, the award they might want to give me down at the Maxine Waters' Preparatory school,...
