Bobby Vinton was born on April 16, 1935 in Canonsburg, Pennsylvania, USA. He is an actor and composer, known for Flushed Away (2006), Godzilla vs. Kong (2021) and Blue Velvet (1986). He has been married to Dolly Dobbins since December 17, 1962. They have five children.
Kept his marriage to wife Dolly a secret for years. The record
companies thought he would sell better if he was single. This is why,
even to this very day, he has never worn his wedding ring.
His song "There I've Said It Again" was the last song to hit
#1 in the US before the "British Invasion".
Vinton credited his mother Dorothy, who also sang and danced in some of his acts, for inspiring his writing his hit song "My Melody of Love" - with Polish words in the song. This hit record led the way for The Bobby Vinton Show (1975) and for he and his family to be invited to the White House. Vinton traveled to Poland to perform.
Went by his first name of Stanley until age 16, when he followed in his
father's footsteps and joined his first band. He decided to use Bobby
so he wouldn't be confused with his father.
He was awarded a Star on the Hollywood Walk of Fame for Recording at 6916 Hollywood Boulevard in Hollywood, California.
