Brad Anderson’s serial killer gets amnesia movie “Jack” may have found itself two bad ass mofos for its two main leads — Liev Schreiber and Samuel L. Jackson. Previous casting rumors had John Cusack playing the lead, but that seems to have fallen by the wayside. Or perhaps not. At this point, these are all rumors According to Bloody-Disgusting, Schreiber is said to be up for the role of Jack, a serial killer who loses his memory after an incident. When he wakes up, the bad guy falls for the doctor who is helping him heal up, which proves tricky when his memories start coming back to him. Jackson would play a character name Pete Chandler. That is, if both actors end up on the film, which at this point isn’t certain. David Venable penned the script for “Jack”. Anderson, meanwhile, is currently out selling his “The Vanishing on...

We've learned of some new casting possibilities for Brad Anderson's serial killer thriller Jack that's been delayed after a planned August shoot. We're told that Liev Schreiber has been offered the lead role of 'Jack', with Samuel L. Jackson in negotiating for 'Pete Chandler'. No word on what this means for John Cusack who was originally cast way back in May. Penned by David Venable, the film centers on a doctor who rehabilitates and ultimately falls for an accident victim with memory loss, unaware that he is actually a killer. Anderson directed Session 9, The Machinist, Transiberian and the forthcoming Vanishing on 7th Street.

A couple of weeks ago, we brought word of Transsiberian director Brad Anderson working on Jack, the story of a serial killer who suffers amnesia and, after discovering his true nature, must decide whether to indulge his dark tendencies or try to stay moral. Now comes news that John Cusack has agreed to play the lead.According to the team at Bloody Disgusting, Cusack will be bringing his particular charm to David Venable’s script, playing a man who gets into a nasty accident, leaving him with serious mental issues. He’s rehabilitated by – and falls for – a female doctor, but then his killer memories start surfacing like bloated corpses coming up in a lake, and he realises he’s stuck with a dilemma – clean start or back to his former, killer business.Cusack occasionally gets his own hands bloody with horror thrillers (he’s appeared in the likes of...

After directing a few unique psychological thrillers like The Machinist and Transsiberian, filmmaker Brad Anderson is continuing his passion for interesting dark mysteries as Variety reports he'll next direct Jack, a script written by David Venable about a serial killer with amnesia who falls in love with his doctor as his memories begin to surface, forcing him to decide whether to start with a clean slate, or give in to his killer instincts. Memory loss is something Anderson has toyed with before in the mystery surrounding Christian Bale in The Machinist, but the serial killer angle lends a new twist to what feels like a familiar plot device. In addition to those two aforementioned films, Anderson has immersed himself in TV recently, taking on even more mystery by directing a handful of episodes of "Fringe," and is currently in post-production on another intriguing project, Vanishing on 7th Street. Producer Brian...

Director Brad Anderson always picks the most interesting films. His latest, which he has signed up to direct for Bold Films is “Jack”, about a serial killer who loses his memory. The problem is, while he has no idea who he is, the bad guy falls for his doctor, which is a major problem when his memories start coming back. Now he has to make a choice: go back to his serial killer killing ways, or start all over again. Choices, choices… Anderson, who has the intriguing sounding “Vanishing on 7th Street” (which I am very keen on seeing) coming up, will direct from a script by David Venable, with production set to begin August 30th of this year. And again, if you haven’t seen it, I highly recommend Anderson’s 2001 psychological horror “Session 9″. Still one of the best atmospheric horror movies I’ve ever seen.
