“Family Guy” creator and executive producer Seth MacFarlane shared insight at PaleyFest on whether or not the Griffin family will ever make it to the big screen in a full-length feature film. The show’s cast also brought the house down Friday with a live table read of upcoming episode “The Edible Arrangement” and nine performances of musical classics from the series as the show celebrates its 25th anniversary.
Without giving too much of the goodness away, the episode the cast did a table read for — written by Travis Bowe — is titled “The Edible Arrangement.” It’s centered on Lois and Stewie bonding after consuming a few of Brian’s weed-infused gummies. The episode features the first time Lois has ever heard Stewie talk, which provides Stewie with the perfect opportunity to tell her all about his old plot to murder her.

While the hosts of The Today Show‘s third hour were lampooned in a recent episode of Seth MacFarlane’s adult animated sitcom Family Guy, they made it clear on Friday’s show that they’re taking the joke in stride.
“Yes, we made Family Guy!” said weatherman Al Roker, with co-host Dylan Dreyer adding, “This is like the highlight of my career!” after tossing to a clip.
The scene in question from January 9 episode “Mister Act” sees Griffin patriarch Peter (MacFarlane) present his wife Lois (Alex Borstein) with an exercise bike as a gift. “I thought you’d like it,” he says. “I saw it on the Today show.”
“2nd Hour with Hoda [Kotb] and Savannah [Guthrie],” asks Lois, “or 3rd Hour with the nonsense people?”
“2nd Hour,” Peter then assures his wife.
“[This is] your fault,” joked co-host Sheinelle Jones, with reference to Roker.

Seth MacFarlane and Fox’s “Family Guy” team want you to understand how the Covid-19 vaccine works so badly that they sent Stewie and Brian inside Peter’s body to show you.
The new three-minute short, which you can view above, was written by the “Family Guy” writers in collaboration with MacFarlane and a team of scientific experts and epidemiologists. It’s intended to “educate, entertain and encourage the millions of unvaccinated citizens around the globe to feel confident getting vaccinated against Covid-19.”
Described as “part ‘Schoolhouse Rock,’ part educational film from high school science class, but told with all the irreverence and hilarity for which ‘Family Guy’ is known,” the PSA shows Peter Griffin (voiced by MacFarlane) at the doctor’s office debating getting the shot, when Stewie (also MacFarlane) and Brian teleport inside his body and explain how vaccines work before Peter gets the shot from Dr. Hartman.

Family Guy‘s entire catalog of past seasons soon will be available only on Disney-owned networks and platforms. Beginning on Sept. 20, comedy-focused Fxx and corporate sibling Freeform will become the exclusive cable homes to the series’ reruns from Seasons 1-19. Hulu continues to be the exclusive Family Guy streaming platform.
In a competitive situation, FX Networks in 2019 landed off-network rights to Family Guy, starting with its 16th (2017-18) season, also shared with Freeform. At the time, the older seasons of Seth Macfarlane’s animated hit remained on Adult Swim/TBS. The show now will permanently leave its longtime cable home on the Turner networks.
Additionally, as part of the ongoing efforts to bring the libraries of all signature Disney-produced series under the Disney umbrella, Fxx has nabbed non-exclusive rights to animated series Futurama, which will join the network in November. (It is unclear whether Futurama will leave Syfy at that...

Both “Family Guy” and “Bob’s Burgers” have been picked up for two additional seasons each at Fox. The renewals will see “Family Guy” run through Season 20, while “Bob’s Burgers” will run through Season 13.
“’Family Guy’ and ‘Bob’s Burgers’ are key pillars of our network’s success,” said Michael Thorn, president of enteratinment for Fox Entertainment. “By taking the genre to new heights and driving pop culture in meaningful ways, they’ve laid the foundation for making Animation Domination one of the most powerful program blocks in all of television. Both of these two-season renewals affirm once again our commitment to animation and empower us to continue in our build as the leader in the space with distinct and fresh new comedies. We’d like to thank Seth, Loren and their entire teams, not to mention our partners at 20th Television, and we’re excited to continue these great shows with them.

Exclusive: Fox has locked in two of the tentpoles of its Sunday animation block for two more years. The network has renewed flagship Family Guy for Seasons 19 and 20 and the Emmy-winning Bob’s Burgers for a 12th and 13th season. The two long-running series, along with animated stalwart The Simpsons, come from 20th Television.
The Simpsons was picked up for an unprecedented 31st and 32nd seasons in early 2019 as former Fox sibling 20th TV was about to move to Disney as part of a $71.3 billion asset acquisition. I hear talks are underway on a major Simpsons renewal too.

Warner Bros. Animation continues to mine its vault of classic titles for reboots. The company has teamed with Elizabeth Banks’ Brownstone Productions to develop a new Flintstones primetime animated adult comedy series.
The project, which is based on an original idea, will be featuring characters from the classic Hanna-Barbera series The Flintstones, which aired from 1960-1966 and spawned a live-action movie franchise. The new animated comedy, which is in very early stages of development, will be produced by Warner Bros. Animation.
There is no network yet but WarnerMedia’s upcoming streaming platform HBO Max is a logical destination. HBO Max also is home of Warner Bros. Animation’s upcoming Gremlins prequel series. Wba’s other upcoming reboot, Animaniacs, is at Hulu.
A Flintstones spinoff kids series from Wba, Yabba-Dabba Dinosaurs!, had been ordered by Boomerang Svod. The project halted production earlier this year after completing one season of its two-season order.

Family Guy is paying tribute to the late Adam West on tonight’s season 17 finale.
In a preview clip, Brian the dog suggests changing the name of James Woods High School to Adam West High.
At first, the family questions Brian’s proposal. But he states his case by mocking conservative actor Woods and wins everyone over.
“James Woods is an embarrassment to Quahog. He’s a political troll and a maniac on Twitter,” Brian says.
Everyone quickly comes around and Peter says, “I’ll make a special video dedication reminding people of how great Mayor West was.”
The late Batman TV star voiced the role of Mayor West from 2000 until his death in 2017.
As for Woods, last month Twitter locked his account over a tweet the platform considered threatening in nature. The conservative star later said in a statement to The Daily Wire he would no longer be using the platform.

“The empire is accidental,” says Seth MacFarlane as he sits atop the sort of rarefied showbiz kingdom — television shows, movies, acting roles, musical albums, merchandise — that only a handful of entertainment industry titans such as George Lucas and Walt Disney have known.
MacFarlane, who is set to receive a star April 23 on the Hollywood Walk of Fame, says there was never a plan to build such a legacy, only to work on things that make him happy.
“I think you’ll be surprised by some of the ideas and the things that he’s excited about,” says Erica Huggins, the president of MacFarlane’s production company Fuzzy Door. She expects the company’s future to potentially include dramas, remakes, podcasts — plus content from other creators who excite her boss. “The best way to describe the kind of genius that Seth has is that he sees it in the full picture.

It was the off-network run of Family Guy on Adult Swim after its cancellation by Fox that triggered its revival by the broadcast network. Don’t expect to see any more “Star Wars” parodies from Fox’s animated hit “Family Guy.”

“The new regime is a little more difficult to deal with,” executive producer Alec Sulkin said. “Before we were just dealing with Lucasfilm. Seth [MacFarlane] had a good relationship with them. It’s not that Seth has a bad relationship with Disney, but they’re a bit more rigid.”
Executive producer Rich Appel said it was understandable, as “they’re a little more careful now that they’re rolling out new movies.”

Science has been under attack of late and I’m not sure why. Some want to tear down the discoveries and words of caution by scientists, as if to discredit them like an urban legend. No one wants to put money into space programs anymore, and there are those who continue to bury their heads in the sand when it comes to the environment, greenhouse effect, global warming and other scientific truths. It’s not always easy to understand science but to outright deny it is a movement that is befuddling as much as it is frustrating. So what better time than to revive Cosmos, the TV show hosted by the late scientist Carl Sagan, who succeeded in breaking down the walls of science, putting the discoveries in a digestible format that would help communicate the wonders of science to non-scientists.

Exclusive: Seth MacFarlane is human! The A-list showrunner, who is juggling four series, a movie and a music career, has reached a mutual agreement with Fox, 20th Century Fox TV and Warner Bros. TV to put the high-profile reboot of The Flintstones on hold as his insane workload has not allowed him to give the project the needed attention. Reps for MacFarlane, the network and the studio confirmed the decision, declining further comment. After two years of complex dealmaking between 20th TV, where MacFarlane is based, and Wbtv, which has the rights to the classic Hanna-Barbera series, the new Flintstones was announced at Fox’s upfront presentation last May with a straight-to-series order to launch in 2013. MacFarlane had been the driver behind the project as for him it was a childhood dream-come-true — by his own admission, the very first cartoon character he drew at age 2 was Fred Flintstone. MacFarlane was to co-write The Flintstones reboot,...

The Cleveland Show may not be the favored offspring of Seth MacFarlane's Animation Domination, but you will believe in its fanbase when the cast and creators come ot San Diego Comic-Con 2011!
MacFarlane himself won't actually be on hand with the rest of the panel, which takes place Sunday, July 24th from 1:45 - 2:45pm in Hall H, as we've previously mentioned his absence for both the Family Guy and American Dad panels. Guess we'll be in for a big Flintstones panel next year!
So what might we see from The Cleveland Show's third season at the panel? New footage seems likely, and fans of the show will definitely be treated to some of the highlights sequence from season two finale "Hot Cocoa Bang Bang," which itself took place at San Diego Comic-Con. Did someone say live-action battle between Kevin Smith and Harry Knowles for a corn dog?...

Over the weekend, San Diego Comic-Con announced the programming schedule for Saturday and Sunday at this year's convention. Usually, Saturday is the most impressive day as it's the weekend and has the biggest amount of people coming into the area while Sunday is usually the most unexciting day as it's the final day of the event and everything is winding down. For 2011, each day is going in the opposite direction. Saturday's movie programming is very underwhelming, save for a few films like Snow White and the Huntsman and Francis Ford Coppola's Twixt, with more cool TV panels popping up than usual. Sunday is significantly better than usual, especially if you like TV, with Hall H panels on It's Always Sunny in Philadelphia, Glee and more. Read about the highlights, with commentary and more after the jump. To be fair, most of these complaints stem from the fact that the...

If past years are any indication, Comic-Con will begin releasing its official 2011 panel schedule later today (Wednesday) with the schedule for Preview Night, Wednesday, July 20. If that happens then we can expect them to follow suit for the rest of the days, so that Thursday will see the release of the Thursday of Con schedule, etc., through Sunday.
Once the official schedules are posted these “TV and Movie Panels and Screenings Updates” will be scaled back to just the date, time, title, and location, since the rest of the information and So Much More (including comics panels, autograph signings, etc.) will be available on the Comic-Con schedule link we’ll provide. Consider this, then, the last of the extremely long posts, and hopefully we’ll be getting that official schedule soon.

Fox have just announced a reboot of The Flintstones to be helmed by Family Guy’s Seth MacFarlane.
Deadline reports that The Flintstones will be produced jointly by 20th Century Fox Television and Warner Bros Television. Dan Palladino (Gilmore Girls) and Kara Vallow (Family Guy) will serve as executive producers alongside MacFarlane.
Kevin Reilly, President of Entertainment at the Fox Broadcasting Company said in a statement: “The Flintstones are among the funniest and most beloved characters in television history, and we can’t wait to introduce them to a whole new generation on Fox.”
The reboot has been in the planning stages for some time after years of complicated negotiations between 20th Century Fox TV, where MacFarlane works, and Warner Bros Television, which claimed rights to the series, after taking over Hanna-Barbera.
MacFarlane is himself a former writer and animator for the production company.

The new take on the classic cartoon will go in for the same modern-prehistoric humor as the old show did; Dan Palladino ("Gilmore Girls") and Kara Vallow ("Family Guy") will executive produce it with MacFarlane. Production is set to begin in the fall, but it won't be on the air until 2013.
- The rumored prime-time newsmagazine fronted by NBC anchor Brian Williams is now reality. It doesn't have a title or an airdate yet, but the network says it will debut sometime in the fall. Williams briefly described his notion for the show at NBC's presentation, saying it would focus on longer-form stories that don't currently have an outlet.
- NBC has ordered a series based on John Grisham's novel "The Firm,...

Yabba dabba do, Seth MacFarlane will finally achieve his dream! The mastermind behind Family Guy will reboot the classic animated series The Flintstones for Fox.
Fox execs made the announcement at the network’s presentation today in New York. The show will go in production this fall for a 2013 launch. “One of the first things I ever drew was Fred Flintstone,” MacFarlane told advertisers. As for his re-imagination, he said the show has to keep up with the times but some things will remain familiar for old fans. “The characters will look the same but the only thing that will change is the stories,...

Update 2:15 Pm: Toldja! Fox just announced the deal at its upfront this afternoon. Fox entertainment president Kevin Reilly said production on the animated series will begin production in Fall 2011 for a 2013 premiere on the Fox schedule. In a cross-studio collaboration, The Flintstones will be produced jointly by 20th Century Fox Television and Warner Bros Television. Step Up 3
Let me start off this review by saying fairly that the film “Step Up 3″ is definitely not my cup of tea. But I don’t really think the movie is aimed towards myself, but rather people that are interested and participate in the human ritual of rhythmic motion known as dancing.
Here’s the story: Moose (Adam G. Sevani) & his lifelong best friend Camille (Alyson Stoner) have just started school at Nyu. Moose’s parents are saying goodbye & couldn’t be happier that their son has set aside his foolish desire to dance to instead focus on earning his Engineering degree. No sooner do his parents leave him be does Moose stumble onto an impromptu dance-off. Moose injects himself into the contest & his moves catch the eye of Luke (Rick Malambri), an amateur filmmaker & dancer who heads up The House of Pirates, a local dance squad...

Considering the fact that "Family Guy" has been canceled -- and brought back to life -- more than once, reaching 150 episodes is a pretty huge deal.
When Korbi TV caught up with "Family Guy" writer/producer and voice actor Danny Smith, he was feeling a lot of love for the people who helped make it all happen: The fans.
"I'll tell you, I don't know if any show has had fans that have directly affected a show more than 'Family Guy,' because they literally resurrected us from the dead," Smith says in the video below. "And [this is] a show that was canceled for almost three years [before it] came back and was on the air again. And that was only because of the outpouring of support and love from people who really got us the first time around. And no matter what happens, we will always love those people."
