Laura Jane Grace makes an appeal to your ears — the two most important holes in your head, at least for her purposes — with the short-and-giddy title track of her upcoming album, Hole in My Head. “You can try to outrun all the pain you come from,” she sings over charging, quarter-note punk-rock chord changes. “That would be a real mistake … I need a hole in my head.” The song follows “Dysphoria Hoodie,” the first single off the album, which will come out Feb. 16.

Laura Jane Grace has announced her second full-length studio album, Hole in My Head, which is due for release on February 16th, 2024 via Polyvinyl Record Co. She’s also shared the album’s title track as a single, and unveiled a string of new tour dates for 2024.
Grace’s first collection of songs since 2021’s At War with the Silverfish, Hole in My Head will feature the single “Dysphoria Hoodie,” which first debuted this past October. Written 30 years removed from the days when her band Against Me! was first beginning, the album captures the sense of reflection that she’s been leaning into recently.
The single “Hole in My Head” conveys this, pairing a stirring, youthful melody with lyrics bearing the wisdom of Grace’s years. “You can try to outrun all the pain you come from/ That would be a real mistake” she sings on the bridge, building into...

The clip for Josh Tillman’s Chloë and the Next 20th Century track was shot in 16mm, and features Starcrawler’s Arrow DeWild and Craig Stark, who recently appeared in Licorice Pizza. L.A. rock band Starcrawler have released a surreal video for their new single “Goodtime Girl,” featuring cameos from Danny Trejo and David Hasselhoff. It takes place in an urban hellscape reminiscent of The Purge and The Warriors where masked gangs battle in the streets. In the end, Trejo and Hasselhoff are revealed as two of the masked fighters.
The song appears on the soundtrack to Dark Nights: Death Metal, an epic DC Comics miniseries featuring Wonder Woman, Batman, Superman, Harley Quinn, Swamp Thing, the Batman Who Laughs, Superboy-Prime, and many others.

Danny Trejo was honored by Los Angeles drug and alcohol treatment center Cri-Help Friday night during its 50th anniversary drive-in celebration at Santa Anita Park in Arcadia, Calif.
The “Desperado” actor, who has been sober for nearly 53 years, was presented with the inaugural Vanguard Award for his work and advocacy of the recovery community by his filmmaker son, Gilbert Trejo. “Everything from Aug. 23, 1968 to now is just like a dream,” Danny Trejo told Variety, referring to his sobriety date. “I’ve got nothing to complain about. I’ve got nothing to fix.”
He has been involved with Cri-Help since it first opened. “You get to see moms who should never be near a kid become soccer moms and drive a minivan,” the actor said. “You see dads who you’d think would still be in prison coaching little league baseball teams. Cri-Help is really one of God’s tools.”

The Dirty Knobs, the new band led by Mike Campbell, have released the single “Fuck That Guy” from their upcoming album Wreckless Abandon, out November 20th via BMG. Co-written by Campbell and Chris Stapleton, the song is accompanied by an appropriate “fuck you” to the horrible pandemic we’re all living through: a video that sees the band giving Covid-19 a royal kick in the teeth, literally.

Los Angeles punk legends X recall their younger days in the new video for “Alphabetland,” the title track from their newest album.
Directed by Gilbert Trejo (son of actor Danny Trejo), “Alphabetland” stars members of the bands Skating Polly and Starcrawler portraying younger versions of the four X members. The clip was shot with a small skeleton crew in March — just as the Covid-19 stay-at-home was taking place in California — and the visual captures the band roaming around a vacant, dreamlike city.

The Pixies pay tribute to a friend of Paz Lenchantin’s named Desiree who died while surfing with their new video for “Long Rider,” which appears on Beneath the Eyrie. Co-written by Lenchantin and Black Francis, the song’s lyrics refer to Desiree’s tragic death in the morning tide.
Lenchantin developed the video’s storyline based on the song’s lyrics: Pro-surfer Danica Elbertse rides waves at Will Rogers State Beach in Southern California in the Gilbert Trejo-directed clip, then a group of kids pay tribute to the...

Interview Duncan Bowles 13 Mar 2014 - 06:29
Duncan catches up with the star of Bullet and Machete to talk about stunts, dancing, and Miss Piggy...
The last but one answer in this interview has a slight spoiler for Muppets Most Wanted.
If there’s one thing I discovered from our chat with Danny Trejo, it’s that he laughs a lot. For an actor who’s made a career out of playing bad asses whose actions speak louder than words, it was a strange thing to hear him so openly chuckling – when our call was connected I asked how he was doing and he replied “Great, we were just talking about Mel Brooks and Blazing Saddles – probably before your time, but it’s really funny!” and what followed was one of the most entertaining interviews I’ve ever done.
We were lucky enough to get a good amount of Mr Trejo’s time,...

Danny Trejo is gearing up star in yet another genre piece Snap Shot. This time around Danny will work with his son Gilbert Trejo who wrote the screenplay. It seems appropriate keeping things in the family given Trejos own tendency to work with his cousin Robert Rodriguez. Well soon see if Gilbert has the mojo to carry on the Trejo family mystique.

#57. Skinny Dip - Frankie Latina What will be a sure fire hit only the fantasy film circuit, Frankie Latina's Skinny Dip a vigilante grindhouse pic stands a great chance at playing in Sundance's Park City at Midnight section due to the Danny Trejo effect (the actor was in Latina's debut film Modus Operandi), Pam Grier and the fact that co-star Sasha Grey made the switchover to film in Soderbergh's Sundance bowed The Girlfriend Experience. Gist: After being dared to go skinny dipping in stormy waters, a buttoned up Holly Haven loses her glasses, washes up at the wrong bonfire and finds herself the unwitting centerpiece of the local football team’s yearly “freshman initiation” – one that results in the unfortunate death of her boyfriend. When a female motorcycle cop shows up on the scene, Holly assumes justice will be served. Producers: Nicholas Shumaker (Another Earth) Gilbert Trejo and Jack Turner (Ioncinema.

This is the Pure Movies review for Machete directed by Ethan Maniquis and Robert Rodriguez, and starring Danny Trejo, Robert De Niro, Jessica Alba, Steven Seagal, Michelle Rodriguez, Jeff Fahey, Cheech Marin, Don Johnson, Shea Whigham, Lindsay Lohan, Daryl Sabara, Gilbert Trejo, Ara Celi, Tom Savini and Billy Blair. For those who saw the fake trailers interposed between Tarantino and Rodriguez’s Grindhouse double-feature and thought, ‘I want to see those films, right now’, you are in luck. Firstly, because you got to see Planet Terror and Death Proof in their intended form instead of the hastily separated-and-extended cuts for UK release (or you know how to use Youtube), and secondly because Robert Rodriguez has only gone and made one.
