Served in World War II having enlisted in the U.S. Army Air Corps in September 1942, eventually becoming a Tech Sergeant with the 39th Base Unit (perhaps the 39th Bombardment Group).
As an actor he appeared in the title role of the serial adaptation of the Milton Caniff comic
strip Terry and the Pirates (1940) and, a dozen years later, co-starred in the television
series adapted from the same strip, Terry and the Pirates (1952), this time as Terry's sidekick, Hot Shot Charlie
(Charles C. Charles) to John Baer's Terry.
Daughter, Patricia Ann, was born in Los Angeles on September 27, 1951.
