Jon Keeyes is a name that has popped up a lot in genre cinema discussion recently, mainly due to his film The Harrowing gaining traction within the horror community. I’m guessing that’s the reason that Wild Eye chose to go back into Keeyes’ oeuvre for their latest release, Doom Room, which was originally made back in 2013 under the title of Nightmare Box.
The film sees a woman, the girl with no eyes who’s oblivious to her surroundings (Katie Kensit), the pious man of god (James Simmons) who belittles our heroine for her sexuality, and then there’s the husband and wife (Matthew Tompkins and Debbie Rochon respectively) who take our “Jane Doe” on a psycho-sexual S&M trip…...

Exclusive: Pitch Perfect alum Brittany Snow and Veep actor Sam Richardson have been tapped to lead the cast of Bailey and Darla, an indie film which is being directed by first-time helmer Nico Raineau. Raineau co-wrote the screenplay with Lauren Schacher. Snow will also produce the project alongside Yale Productions’ Jordan Yale Levine and Jordan Beckerman, and Highland Myst’s Jon Keeyes.
The film, which is currently in production, follows Darla (Snow), a cynical reporter whose sex addiction is getting in the way of her sex column, and her evolving relationship with Bailey, a well-meaning sweetheart who’s been dumped by his fiancé and learns he has testicular cancer (again). Together they embark on an impromptu cross country road trip, recreating Darla’s myriad trysts from state to state. She’s looking for a story and he’s looking for a last hurrah; what they find is something neither expected.

I thought I’d try to watch a few more new horror movies by the end of 2018 – December is usually just for Christmas movies for me – but The Harrowing sounded interesting from the few things I’ve read about it so I gave it a go.
The first thing I noticed about The Harrowing is that it looks great. I honestly don’t know its budget but I can assure you this would be what most would call a ‘low budget movie’. And it proves that low budget doesn’t mean that your film should look amateur. Here the picture is the highest of quality, the sound is perfect but also, the one thing...

We return with the latest edition of the Indie Spotlight, highlighting recent independent horror news sent our way. Today’s feature includes release details for A Resurrection, the first teaser trailer for Ten, a review of Smiley, and much more:

Director Jon Keeyes has released a really unique steampunk trailer for his upcoming short film/TV pilot "The Mechanical Grave." Sure, all the traditional horror sub-genres are great and much loved. But when something totally unique like this trailer appears, we've got to be sure to send it your way also.
This is a well shot piece of work with some nice F/X and some cool physical work done by the actors. The short was written by Charles Burnley and produced by Matthew Tompkins and Jon Keeyes. The plan for the project is for it to be worked from a pilot into a six-episode series, then, with any luck, a regular television series. The first 30 seconds look very impressive so they've got that going for them. But there's no sense in me blathering on about it. Check out The Mechanical Grave trailer below.

I'm a big confused as to why this episode is the "season finale" considering its the sixth episode of the season. Let me see if I can find more information about a return date for the show.

Those of you who think that your life would be much better with the addition of a few female contract killers must wait no longer: Webby-nominated dark action comedy web series Pink is back in action today with the first episode of its third season, titled "Speed Dating Kills 2." If you haven't watched Pink before, now is as good a time as any to get started - just make sure to start at the beginning. Directed by Blake Calhoun and written by Mike Maden, Pink tells the story of one Natalie "Nate" Cross (Natalie Raitano), a government-employed contract killer and ex-con who still wants to enjoy a normal love life on her days off. The show also stars Matthew Tompkins and Sheree J. Wilson. We last covered Pink during the September 2008 premiere of Season 2, only a few months ago—looks like the recent partnership with Generate has been good for business.

Watch the season 2 trailer for the upcoming web series “Pink” starring Natalie Raitano, Matthew Tompkins and Sheree J. Wilson. Synopsis: Natalie Cross works for the government - any government that pays, that is. Technically, she’s a subcontractor - like Haliburton, only with guns. She gets hired to hunt down scum and dispose of them - and she always gets her man. Always. Natalie loves the color pink. As in, “pink mist” (you can figure that one out). Her prison psychiatrist called her “unstable”. Blame her dad, he was the dangerous one. Old School. Black Ops. And he always wanted a son (that’s why he called her “Nate”). He taught her things like, how to skin a deer and how to fire a rifle. [...]...
