“The Boys” season three continued to be as bloody, brilliant, and bloody brilliant as ever as the Amazon Prime Video series ramped it up another notch with its acclaimed superhero satire.
The show — a provocative, dark take on superheroes — follows Karl Urban‘s Billy Butcher and Jack Quaid‘s Hughie as members of a team hoping to take down the corrupt, evil superheroes and their parent company/creators, Vought International. That company is headed up by a PR-obsessed superhero team called The Seven, led by Anthony Starr‘s Homelander. Since season one, Butcher and co have tried their utmost to reveal the sins of The Seven to the world but, in season three, they went to new extremes to realize their goals and Butcher was pushed to his limit.
As Butcher, Urban is the gruff, swaggering beating heart of the show. Blood-pumping, testosterone-flying — Urban plays Butcher like Jack Sparrow as a football hooligan.

It’s hard to keep a good drag queen down.
Fresh off her victory on Season 11 of “RuPaul’s Drag Race,” Yvie Oddly was cast in the “RuPaul’s Drag Race Live!” residency at the Flamingo Las Vegas. The process of putting together and performing the show is featured on VH1’s “Drag Race: Vegas Revue,” which features Oddly alongside castmates and fan favorites like Vanessa “Vanjie” Mateo and Asia O’Hara.
However, less than two months into the Vegas show’s run, it was shut down due to the coronavirus pandemic. Oddly was forced to do what the best performers are able to do seamlessly: pivot. She’s used this newfound freedom as a time of creative exploration, focusing on her aspirations to be a rapper. Following in the footsteps of the music video for her song “Hype” — which features Vanjie and has over 1.3 million views on YouTube — Oddly released...

Sam Stone of Cbr gives a pretty detailed account of what Dragon Ball Xenoverse 3 is going to be all about and so far it sounds pretty intense, and that’s saying quite a bit since fans would agree that the first two games have been pretty well done. Combined they’ve sold well over 15 million units throughout the world and this sequel seems like it might be primed to do even more since it’s sounding as though it might be more expansive than the first two games. It does stand to reason that the third installment would build upon what’s

Swamp Dogg has been trying to make a country album for a long time. “All my life,” he says. Although the 76-year-old singer-songwriter is best known for his oddball R&B, country music has been an integral part of his musical foundation ever since he stayed up late at night as a kid growing up in Portsmouth, Virginia listening to the country radio station. Early in his career, his originals became hits for country singers like Johnny Paycheck, and he regularly recorded songs written by country-leaning singer-songwriters like Mickey Newbury and John Prine.

Croteam is busy working on bringing gleeful, blood-soaked gobs of joy to the world in "Serious Sam 3: Bfe," but there are many, many stories to be told about Sam Stone and the bizarre world he lives in. Enter Croteam and Devolver Digital's newly announced "Serious Sam Indie Series," which puts the license in the hands of noted indie developers and tasks them with making a "Serious" game in each one's own unique style.
The plan is to support multiple platforms and really just let each development team fly their particular brand of freak flag in coming up with a unique take on Sam's adventures. The initial trio is "set to rock everything from PCs to mobile platforms to consoles," according to the press release.
The three games are: "Serious Sam: Double D," by Mommy's Best Games ("Weapon of Choice"), a console/PC-based side-scrolling shooter; "Serious Sam: Kamikaze Attack," by...

After launching themselves to the top tier of comedic directors with their seminal Airplane! (1980) and their spy-spoof follow up, Top Secret! (1984), directors Jim Abrahams, David Zucker, and Jerry Zucker put aside their own brand of genre lampooning temporarily aside to direct Dale (Dirty Rotten Scoundrels, My Cousin Vinny) Launer's farce Ruthless People (1986). In retrospect, the film owes a lot to the work of novelist Elmore Leonard: strong and often hilarious dialogue, a peanut gallery of rouges and misfits, and a kidnapping plot that is condemned by fate the moment it is put into motion. Actually, and I think there is a joke about the similarity in Leonard's novel Rum Punch (1992, which was later adapted by Quentin Tarantino as Jackie Brown), the film feels like an unadvertised adaptation his novel The Switch (1978) in which two kidnappers hold a millionaire's wife ransom, only to discover that the husband doesn't want her back.

Here I was all set to go Elitist on the country singer Lee Greenwood, and I pulled the rug out from under myself. I shared Rachel Maddow's incredulity that the limping duck George W. Bush had appointed Greenwood to the National Council of the Arts. I even had my first two sentences written in my head: "Remember how the Bush takeover squad at the White House complained the Clintonites had unplugged all the PCs on their way out the door? As he steadfastly marches toward his own sunset, it is Bush himself who seems unplugged."
Zing! Totally unfair, but snappy, Bush had two vacancies to fill on the Nca, one for three years, one for six. Greenwood got the six-year term. He'll be the gift that keeps on giving every day during Obama's first term. The Council's job is to advise the National Endowment for the Arts on how to spend its money.
