He studied social communication in the Catholic university of Uruguay
where he started directing shorts movies. There he also met Juan Pablo
Rebella, his partner as a writer and director in all his movies.
After finishing their degree, he started working in commercials and TV
in Uruguay. In 2001 he directed, with Juan Pablo Rebella, his first
movie, "25 watts", influenced by Jim Jarmusch and Kevin Smith, tells
the story of three friends trying to get some excitement during a
boring sunday in Montevideo. "25 Watts" was well condidered in many
festivals around the world.
During 2 years, Pablo Stoll and Juan Pablo Rebella worked in the
screenplay of their second movie: Whisky. It became one of the greatest
surprises at its release in the Cannes Film Festival in 2004. Since
then, it has been released worldwide.
