EstroGenius 2014 4th Street Theatre 83 E. 4th St., NYC October 2-November 2, 2014
The EstroGenius Festival, currently in its 15th year, spotlights women artists in theater. It is organized into three separate shows -- Andi’s Night, Deb’s Night, and Sarah’s Night -- that each consist of five short plays totaling about an hour and a half per "Night." At the end of a program, audience members can vote for their favorite performer, writer, and director on a ballot included in the program, and votes can also be cast for favorite play for a one-dollar donation per vote. The winning play receives a special encore performance at the end of the festival.
Andi’s Night opens with Snow White Zombie (by Brent Lengel; dir. Sara Stevens), a light, almost fan-fiction-esque imagining of a zombie plague in the land of classic fairy-tale characters. It includes some fun fight choreography and the nice...

It’s finally here! Ever since it leaked that none other than Barry Allen, aka The Flash, would be appearing on Arrow the speculation has been wild on just when and how he would appear. Well, the “when” has been answered- tonight on the all new episode of Arrow. The “how” is a little more fun. Look for Barry Allen (Grant Gustin of Glee) to stop by Starling City as a CSI import from Central City helping the Scooby gang investigate a strange and lethal robbery. While in town, Barry is going to get up close and personal with his own hero, the vigilante.
Barry, pre-Flash transformation, will stick around for two episodes and shake up the dynamic of Starling City’s protectors, particularly when it comes to everyone’s favorite tech girl Felicity. Executive producer Andrew Kreisberg explained “We spent a lot of time talking about Barry,...

All hail, Reign! CW’s decadent quasi-historical drama is all kinds of yum. Let me count the ways we love it- the sweeping locations, the gorgeous medieval wear, multiple love triangles, the courtly parties, the intrigue of the betrayals and betrothals. Let’s start with last week’s searing kiss between Mary, Queen of Scots, and Prince Francis, heir to France’s throne. (Finally, right?) Reign is heating up. And while their interpretation of the real history of Mary, Queen of Scots, is about as loose as Lady Kenna’s corset strings, the show is almost too fun to really care.
If you’re like us, you can’t get enough, which means we’re happy to bring you a platter full of spoilers fitting a banquet in King Henry’s court. TheTVAddict.com had a sit down with show executive producers Laurie McCarthy and Brad Silberling...

Loving CW’s superhuman drama Tomorrow People? Can’t get enough of the three T’s? (That would be teleportation, telekinesis and telepathy for us regular humans.) We’re in the same boat. So we went straight to the source to get the dish on this first season of Tomorrow People from executive producers Greg Berlanti and Phil Klemmer. And while they kept the goods locked up tighter than Jedikiah’s biomedical Ultra compound, we were able to get a few juicy details. Like, when are we going to get more of those shirts off? Check it out.
But beware of Spoilers…..
Which team are you: Cara/Stephen or Cara/John? Well, stay tuned because that slow-simmering love triangle is going to hit boil soon. Phil Klemmer put it in perspective. “John, he’s very closed off emotionally, tough, terse, almost a John Wayne figure. With Stephen...

NBC’s fairy-tale homicide cop drama Grimm comes back on Friday, Oct 25th at 9pm for the third season. The crew at NBC threw a little Halloween bash to preview a new episode of season three and TheTVAddict.com got to attend. Sitting down with the number one Grimm David Giuntoli and executive producers David Greenwalt and Jim Kouf, we got a little taste of what to expect in season three. They teased on some fun new Wesen and what changes we’ll see from Nick, Monroe, Juliette this year, not to mention the Royals. We don’t want to get too spoiler-y, so let’s just dive into the highlights. In fact, if you don’t want to be spoiled for season 3, best stop here.
• Nick will be going through some changes due to what he went through last season. Green goo in your face will do that to you.

The CW is determined to be the leader in genre programming. They’ve covered vampires, witches, werewolves, comic books superheroes and everything else under the spectrum. With the new pilot The Tomorrow People, premiering Wed, Oct 9th at 9pm, they’re taking on the next steps in human evolution. Based on a British series from the 70’s, the Tomorrow People are seemingly normal humans with latent “special powers” like telekinesis, teleportation and telepathy, which break out in their teens. Mix in a super-secret military organization hunting down the Tomorrow People, long dead family secrets coming to the surface and some pretty fun visual effects and you’ve got an entertaining new series.
But will The Tomorrow People stand out amongst a slew of new shows this fall and all the genre series already established? Time and some decent writing will tell. The Tomorrow People has a powerhouse...

CW’s Arrow comes roaring back for season two on October 9th at 8pm. Last season, we met the two halves of Oliver Queen’s life: the citizens of Starling City and the mysterious island guests who played a role in creating the Arrow. None did more so than Shado (Celina Jade), daughter of Oliver’s first mentor Yao Fei. Audiences figured out fast that Shado, a Chinese lawyer, isn’t your typical damsel. A master archer and skilled fighter, Shado plays a direct role in honing Oliver’s skills while they work together to leave the island. Even more intriguing, Shado and Oliver share the same dragon tattoo. In season two, fans will learn more about the martial arts maven Shado and who she is to Oliver.
Celina Jade isn’t new to the action scene. Born in Hong Kong, Celina’s father is American Kung Fu star Roy Horan.

Hart Of Dixie launches its third season on Monday, October 7th and who else to talk about the exciting new developments in Bluebell than their own Brick Breeland, aka Tim Matheson. When we left off at the end of season two, Brick, Bluebell’s seasoned MD in residence, was about to turn the hamlet on its ear with an elopement to the much-younger Shelby (Laura Bell Bundy) and he was no worse off with his medical practice by the departure of Zoe. Tim Matheson sat down with theTVaddict.com to tease us on season three of Hart Of Dixie and to give us some insight on how the citizens of Bluebell are faring with the return of Zoe Hart.

ABC’s Castle hasn’t lost any steam with its rabid fanbase moving into the sixth season. Hosting Castle for the third time, the Paley Center in Los Angeles welcomed cast and crew from the drama for a panel in front of a sold out fanatic audience and live steaming feed. There was plenty for a panel to cover for the new season. Let’s count it off: an engagement for Castle and Beckett, a once-in-a-lifetime career opp for Beckett with the Attorney General , making her leave the dream team back in NYC, Alexis back from a summer in South America and throwing some fun (read: unwelcome) surprises Castle’s way, and a new baby for Det. Ryan.

NBC is putting their Thursday night of comedy back together this fall with three new sitcoms. Leading the pack is Sean Hayes, returning to his sitcom roots in Sean Saves The World, premiering Thursday, Oct 3rd at 9Pm. But can Sean really save the world? His character, aptly named “Sean,” would like to think so. If saving the world means balancing the perfect work life and stepping up to be the world’s perfect single dad to a fourteen year old daughter. At his side to either help or trip him up along the way is a colorful cast, including Linda Lavin (Alice), Megan Hilty (Smash), Thomas Lennon (Reno 911), and newcomer Sami Isler.
Sean Saves The World dives into some timely topics. Does a single parent have to choose between successfully raising kids and a solid career? Executive producers Todd Milliner, Sean Hayes, and Victor Fresco hope...
