Sen. John Fetterman checked into Walter Reed on Wednesday night for clinical depression, his office announced on Thursday.
The first-term senator from Pennsylvania’s trip to Walter Reed comes a week after he was discharged from George Washington Hospital after he began feeling ill on a Senate Democratic retreat. It also comes after countless other lawmakers have checked into and out of hospitals to receive treatment for a variety of medical conditions.

Donald Trump is leveling criticism at Jewish leaders for not expressing enough “loyalty” towards him in the wake of his dinner with two antisemitic Holocaust deniers at his Mar-a-Lago home.
“Jewish Leaders forgot that I was the best, by far, President for Israel,” Trump wrote on Truth Social Friday. “They should be ashamed of themselves. This lack of loyalty to their greatest friends and allies is why large numbers in Congress, and so many others, have stopped giving support to Israel.”

Former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo is out on a rehabilitation tour. Sure, he’s got a new podcast to tout, and will soon start a new primetime show on NewsNation (formerly WGN).
But the real agenda is to win back the reputation he lost when CNN dismissed him for allegedly violating its journalistic standards by consulting with his brother, ex-New York Govenor Andrew Cuomo.
Bill Maher, admittedly a friend of Cuomo, got right down to business at the top of his ‘Real Time’ segment, asking Cuomo if he’s happy to be “back.”
“Happy is probably not the right word,” Cuomo said, allowing that he does miss CNN. “I feel like I lost a sense of purpose for a while because of how things ended.” He allowed that he wants to get back into the role he previously had.
He wasn’t baited into disparaging his former home at CNN,...

Let’s get after it.
That was the name of former CNN anchor Chris Cuomo’s SiriusXM show, but it also might be the tagline for his sit down with Bill Maher on HBO’s Real Time this Friday. It will be Cuomo’s first one-on-one TV interview since it was announced earlier this week that he will join Nexstar’s NewsNation this fall. Cuomo also has new podcast, The Chris Cuomo Project.
Cuomo was, of course, dismissed from CNN in December, following allegations about the extent to which he advised his brother Andrew as the then-Governor of New York fought a cascade of scandals. The Cuomo Primetime host also faced his own workplace sexual misconduct allegations. As a result, Cuomo has asked for 125 million in arbitration.

Netflix has released a collection of photos from Marvel's upcoming series The Punisher featuring Frank Castle, Karen Page, and several other characters. I also included a new promo spot that was released that highlights a major cover up. It came along with the caption, "How deep does the cover up go?"
With every new thing I see from the series, it's hard not to get excited! Frank Castle is just such a badass character and I'm excited to see the story that this solo series will tell. One thing is for certain... it's going to be badass!
Jon Bernthal will reprise his role as Frank Castle from Marvel’s Daredevil and he’s joined by newcomers Ben Barnes as Billy Russo (the civilian name of the villain Jigsaw), Frank’s Castle’s best friend from his days in the Special Forces who runs a successful private military corporation called “Anvil;” Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro,...

Empire has released a new photo from Marvel’s upcoming series The Punisher. It gives us a look at Frank Castle (Jon Bernthal) as a U.S. Marine in a time prior to him becoming the vengeful vigilante. What we are seeing here is a glimpse of a flashback scene in which we will learn more about Frank's past and the traumatic events that helped to shape his turn into The Punisher.
When talking about the killing spree that Frank Castle will go on in the solo series, Bernthal explains:
“It’s the only thing that silences the demons, temporarily. There’s going to be an attempt to move beyond the Punisher, but that’s something he can’t shake. There’s part of me that’s hungry to get back into the darkness, that’s excited to see it fall apart.”

Marvel has released a new teaser trailer for The Punisher and it offers us a look at the supporting cast of the series. It comes with the caption:
"Friends. Enemies. Frank Castle. 'Marvel's The Punisher' is coming soon."
So, we still don't know when exactly The Punisher series will be released, but it's been rumored that it could premiere in November, which would be soon. The official Twitter account for the series also sent out thirteen mysterious messages in Morse code, which EW has translated and it seems like they are the titles of the episodes:
1: “3 Am”
2: “Two Dead Men”
3: “Kandahar”
4: “Resupply”
5: “Gunner”
6: “The Judas Goat”
7: “Crosshairs”
8: “Cold Steel”
9: “Front Toward Enemy”
10: “Virtue of the Vicious”
11: “Danger Close”
12: “Home”
13: “Memento Mori”

This new photo of Jon Bernthal as The Punisher is the best image yet of him in the role. It's the most Punisher looking image of Bernthal as The Punisher that I've seen! Damn! He looks badass!
Marvel released the first trailer for the upcoming Punisher solo series last week, that you can watch here in case you missed it. I can't wait to see see this character back in action!
Bernthal is joined by Ben Barnes as Billy Russo a.k.a. Jigsaw, who is Castle’s best friend from his days in the Special Forces. He runs a successful private military corporation called “Anvil”. The series also stars Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, a former Nsa analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them; and Amber Rose Revah as Dinah Madani, a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.

How apt… on the day that Marvel’s The Defenders goes live on Netflix, perfect for a binge-watching marathon this weekend, Netflix have unveiled a brand-new trailer for their next Marvel series, The Punisher – which sees Jon Bernthal return as Frank Castle having already made an appearance as the character in Marvel’s Daredevil.
The Punisher also stars Ben Barnes as Billy Russo, Frank’s Castle’s best friend from his days in the Special Forces who runs a successful private military corporation called “Anvil;” Ebon Moss-Bachrach as Micro, a former Nsa analyst whose secrets may be of great value to Frank Castle and everyone around them; and Amber Rose Revah (Indian Summers, Son of God) as Dinah Madani; a highly-trained sophisticated Homeland Security agent who is vexed by the Punisher.

Many on Twitter rejoiced on Friday as multiple news outlets reported that Donald Trump‘s chief strategist, Steve Bannon, was out of the White House in the wake of the president’s disastrous response to the violence at a white supremacist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia, over the weekend.

Perhaps in fear that it could overshadow the release of The Defenders, Marvel and Netflix have been awfully quiet about their upcoming Punisher spinoff starring Jon Bernthal. But now that the former show is available on the streaming service – and receiving fairly positive reviews – it looks like Frank Castle is finally ready to take the spotlight.
That’s because the very first teaser trailer for the upcoming series has been released today, promising a dark and violent ride to come. It doesn’t show us a whole lot, given that it’s just a teaser, but in it, we get a glimpse of Frank’s troubled past and the demons that continue to haunt him today. There’s nothing in terms of plot or even a look at any of the supporting characters, but this promo gets the job done and re-introduces the anti-hero in the perfect way.

Following the premiere of Marvel's The Defenders, Netflix has released the teaser trailer for The Punisher. This gives us an intense first look at the highly-anticipated series, which sees Jon Bernthal as Frank Castle take his frustrations out on a concrete floor with a sledge hammer. The immediate backlash President Trump faced on Tuesday only intensified overnight after he doubled down on his assertion that “both sides” were to blame for deadly violence at a white nationalist rally in Charlottesville, Virginia.
“There are two sides to a story,” Trump insisted on Tuesday, echoing the widely denounced comments he made Saturday, as the violence was unfolding in Virginia.
There were “a lot of bad people in the other group too,” he added in reference to the anti-racist protesters demonstrating against the rally, one of whom, 32-year-old Heather Heyer, was killed when a driver rammed his car into a group of the counter-protesters.

There's an excitement for Marvel's upcoming new Netflix series The Punisher. We recently shared a poster for the series, and now today we know when it's going to premiere! According to one of the director's of the series Dearbhla Walsh, The Punisher will be released in November! During an interview with THR, Walsh said:
“[I’ve directed] one other time that hasn't been aired yet, which was an episode for the new Marvel series The Punisher, which I did just before Christmas, but it's not airing until November.“I directed that in New York and edited in L.A., but this was my first directing experience in lovely Canada.”
Sounds like this is a bit of information that she may have let slip on accident. Marvel hasn't released an official release date yet, but it's looking like November in the month fans will get to see Frank Castle go ballistic and destroy people in his solo series.

Though it may not be official, actor Daniel Webber has shared our first look at the starry cast of The Punisher, Marvel and Netflix’s 2017 spinoff series headed up by Jon Bernthal. Say hello to Team Punisher, ladies and gentlemen.

Moore, Michael Nathanson, Amber Rose Revah, Ebon Moss-Bachrach, Jaime Ray Newman, Daredevil co-star Deborah Ann Woll and finally, Ben Barnes. The cameras have been rolling on The Punisher since October, which means it shouldn’t be too much longer before Netflix decides to drop the first reel of footage – in the build-up to Iron Fist‘s premiere in March, perhaps?

FiveThirtyEight founder and editor in chief Nate Silver famously predicted all 50 states of the 2012 election — but when it came to predicting Donald Trump’s chances, he wasn’t so accurate. He’s not the only one. Political pundits, newscasters and celebrities have doubted Donald Trump since he announced his candidacy back on on June 16, 2015. They have called him everything from a “comical figure” to a “blowhard” and compared him at times to Hitler. Also Read: 'Apprentice' Contestants Bash Donald Trump at Manhattan Press Conference Those who doubted Trump include Glenn Beck, Rachel Maddow, Stuart Stevens, Cenk Uygur, Sam Stein, Bill Kristol,...

Time for some traffic problems at The Huffington Post. On Monday's Morning Joe, Sam Stein had the temerity to ask Chris Christie why he took off for New Hampshire like a well-nourished Roadrunner cartoon while his state is still in rough shape, and Christie pissily explained that there was "no residual damage" from the storm, and that Stein was just "making it up."...

Following President Barack Obama's announcement that 8 million Americans had signed up in some form for insurance through the Affordable Care Act's private exchanges, MSNBC host Alex Wagner asked Huffington Post White House correspondent Sam Stein whether the Republicans' opposition to the Aca was a political liability. Stein confessed that the White House was "moving the ball" on what constitutes success...

During a rare Presidential press conference—which was more of a condescending, finger-pointing, rambling lecture on economics swimming in scare tactics than anything else—Mr. Obama took questions from the AP’s Julie Pace, Julianna Goldman of Bloomberg, Sam Stein of the Huffington Post, Roberta Rampton of Reuters, Ari Shapiro of NPR, Mark Landler of the New York Times, Richard McGregor of the Financial Times, Steve Dennis of Roll Call, Mark Knoller of CBS (Radio), and an unidentified female reporter for the final question. Hyperbole was the primary theme ("You don't hold people hostage and engage in ransom taking") while a tough question couldn’t be found.

On the USA Network primetime show "Royal Pains," actor Mark Feuerstein plays Hank Lawson, a physician who treats well-heeled denizens of the Hamptons, the ritzy beach community on New York's Long Island. But three years ago, he was just a worried father of a very sick little girl.
Feuerstein's daughter Adelaide, now 3, was born with a congenital defect that put her in intensive care at Children's Hospital Los Angeles for almost three months, where she had two open-heart surgeries. The cost of her treatments came to more than $1 million. Feuerstein and his wife Dana Klein, a TV producer and writer who worked on "Friends," have the means to pay for such expensive care, but the ordeal gave them a new perspective on the plight of of the uninsured.

Cher took to Twitter to lash out at former Nevada Gop Senate candidate Sharron Angle on the issue of abortion Thursday.
Angle, who made an unsuccessful bid against Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid last election cycle, sparked controversy with remarks she made while defining her pro-life stance. HuffPost's Sam Stein reported on what she said in 2010:
In a radio interview Angle did in late June [of 2010], the Tea Party favorite re-affirmed her pro-life sensibilities (rigid, as they are, even within Republican circles), when she insisted that a young girl raped by her father should know that "two wrongs don't make a right." Much good can come from a horrific situation like that, Angle added. Lemons can be made into lemonade.
Here's what Cher had to say on Twitter early Thursday morning:

In a panel discussion on President Barack Obama’s attacks institution of Wall Street in his campaign, Huffington Post political reporter Sam Stein said that Wall Street traders who have turned against Obama as a result of his rhetoric are “thinned-skinned.” The MSNBC panel said that Wall Streeters should be grateful that their industry was not nationalized and financial professionals were not locked into “stockades” in the wake of the crash of 2008.

On Monday, we reported on a new investigation from James O'Keefe's Project Veritas that seeks to discredit a Rutgers professor and the think tank he does research for, but the main thrust of the piece, as the title "To Catch A Journalist" suggests, was an attack on The Huffington Post's Sam Stein. In an exclusive interview with Mediaite, O'Keefe defended his false assertion that an old journalism professor of Stein's accused Sam of getting his sources drunk, and responded to criticism of his reporting.

The Huffington Post's Sam Stein appeared on Morning Joe today, to 1) send the crew into a veritable fit of giggles with his accompanying headshot and 2) discuss what the results from last night's special election in Anthony Weiner's former district may mean for Barack Obama and Democrats in general. "You nationalize it to a certain extent," said Stein of the results. And when you do? The numbers don't look great where Obama's base and popularity are concerned.

President Obama took to the White House briefing room podium Friday afternoon to take questions regarding the earlier collapse of the debt crisis negotiations between the administration and the Gop. A rather pedestrian press briefing suddenly turned spirited with last question posed by Huffington Post's Sam Stein, who asked about market reaction on Monday. Mr. Obama seemed passionate, if not...well, pissed, with Speaker Boehner and other Gop leadership for the stalled talks.

Chris Matthews was fascinated that many prominent Republicans would so publicly "line up with a foreign leader against the President of the United States," as they did this past week when they chose to support Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu against the proposal suggested by President Obama. Matthews told Cynthia Tucker and Sam Stein that he thought this was "unusual," yet neither guest seemed surprised, instead attributing it to Republicans playing politics as usual.

The Huffington Post is known for its lively commenters. The news and opinion site’s internal discussion threads generate some entertaining banter, too.
In an interview, Arianna Huffington, editor-in-chief of AOL’s new Huffington Post Media Group, provided a peek behind some of them.
Huffington Post senior White House correspondent Sam Stein recently sent an email to the group email list for people involved in the site’s political coverage saying he was stuck in Barbados due to airline troubles,...

Wow, that didn't take long. Minutes after we predicted that George Soros' comments at a meeting with progressive donors would fuel speculation about a 2012 Democratic primary challenge to President Obama, Countdown host Keith Olbermann interviewed HuffPo's Sam Stein, and asked him just that. While both Stein and columnist E.J. Dionne successively threw cold water on the suggestion, Countdown's producers labeled the segment "If Not Obama...?" Of course, we thought Glenn Beck and company would be fanning these flames, not Olbermann. Is Keith Olbermann ready to ditch Barack Obama?...

Everyone's soon-to-be favorite reality show, Sarah Palin's Alaska, premieres on November 18. For a time yesterday, though, the first episode of the show was already up on Tlc's website—long enough for Sam Stein at the Huffington Post to take a look at it. As Stein points out, the episode contains one moment of particularly delicious irony: Palin complaining about "an invasion of our privacy" to the cameras recording her every move for a TV series.

Sandra Bullock is not back with Jesse James at least not to my knowledge, but she is back on board with Women of the Storm's "Be The One" video according to her publicist. A Huffington Post article by Brendan DeMelle and Jerry Cope detailed Women of the Storm's affiliation with America's Wetland Foundation, and Awf's support from the oil industry. Bullock subsequently pulled out of the campaign requesting to be removed from their Be The One video. Sam Stein described the timeline Here. This month, Bullock returned to Women of the Storm's video, Nola.com reports, provided Wots posts the following statement on its web site: Ms. Bullock's participation in the Restore the Gulf campaign does not imply support for, or endorsement of, any organization or of any other message than as expressed in the Restore the Gulf public service announcement. ...

Since early this morning, Press Secretary Robert Gibbs has been the object of ire from liberals for comments he made regarding criticism from the "professional left." After clarifying, but not apologizing, to HuffPost's Sam Stein, Gibbs missed today's briefing (Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton attributed it to "sniffles and a sore throat"), but Burton further refocused Gibbs' remarks toward liberal cable personalities. Tonight, Grand Poobah of the 'Professional Left' Keith Olbermann delivered a Special Comment directed back at Gibbs.

During today's White House press briefing, Huffington Posts' Sam Stein asked Deputy Press Secretary Bill Burton why the White House has been reluctant to offer an opinion on the Ground Zero mosque; an issue which Stein presented as "a consuming religious and cultural debate going on." Burton said that the White House is not going to "readjudicate" a decision made by a "local government." Cue outraged comparisons to the Arizona immigration law by right-of-center outlets in 3...2...1...

On Saturday in Washington D.C. the “debate” over health care got very ugly when protesters opposed to healthcare reform screamed “faggot” at out Rep. Barney Frank, while Rep. John Lewis, a civil rights leader who marched with Dr. Martin Luther King, Jr. was called a ni**ger.
That’s not what this post is about.
This is about how ithe use of the slurs has been reported in the media — because it’s very different reporting depending on where you get your information. And sometimes it varies inside the same publication, or even the same article.
For me, it all started at the Huffington Post where Sam Stein posted an article about the protests. By the time I saw it, the title looked like this:
But other people saw the article when it first went up, and the title reportedly read “Tea Party Protests: ‘Ni**er,’ ‘Faggot’ Shouted At members Of Congress.
