Department Q, the popular Danish crime novel, has seen a film series adaptation since 2013’s Danish film, Department Q: The Keeper of Lost Causes. It would then be followed by 2014’s Department Q: The Absent One. Then, that installment would be followed by 2016’s Department Q: A Conspiracy of Faith. Those would then proceed with 2018’s Journal 64, 2021’s The Macro Effect and the upcoming Boundless. Additionally, Netflix will be producing a series based on the crime novels.
Deadline has just unveiled the cast for the upcoming Department Q Netflix show. The series, which is based on author Jussi Adler-Olsen’s popular works, is currently filming in Scotland. Matthew Goode, who is known for Antony Armstrong Jones in season two of Left Bank’s regal drama The Crown, has been cast as Dci Carl Morck, along with Chloe Pirrie, who you may know from The Queen’s Gambit, plays ruthless and ambitious prosecutor Merrit Lingard.

Historically, rules on marriage haven’t worked out well for the British royal family. Take, for instance, King Charles III marrying — and later divorcing — Princess Diana after Queen Camilla was deemed unsuitable. Or Princess Margaret being blocked from marrying divorcé Peter Townsend only to have a failed marriage to Antony Armstrong-Jones. These days, however, the rules have changed. So much so, Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie aren’t simply living by the royal family’s marriage “rule.” According to an expert, they’ve “embraced” it.
Who are Princess Beatrice and Princess Eugenie married to?
The daughters of Prince Andrew and Sarah Ferguson, Beatrice and Eugenie, are among the younger generation of royals with somewhat recent royal weddings.
Eugenie, 33, married her longtime boyfriend, Jack Brooksbank, on Oct. 12, 2018, at St. George’s Chapel, Windsor Castle, in a televised ceremony. Now parents of two — August, 2, and Ernest, 5 months — Eugenie and Brooksbank split their time between England and Portugal.

Princess Margaret’s distinctive flair and unapologetic individuality have left an indelible mark on royal history. And her choice of wedding tiara is a striking example of her unconventional approach.
The Countess of Snowdon’s decision to purchase the Poltimore tiara, valued at a remarkable $5 million, defied royal family tradition and was emblematic of her unique persona. In honor of Margaret’s 93rd birthday, here’s a closer look at one of her favorite pieces.
Princess Margaret took an unusual path in obtaining her wedding tiara
Margaret is perhaps best known for her distinctive approach to life. And she certainly applied her individuality to her wedding day as well.
In 1960, the Countess of Snowdon married Antony Armstrong-Jones in a gorgeous ceremony at Westminster Abbey. The ceremony became the first royal wedding ever to grace television screens. A global audience of over 300 million watched Margaret, in her stunning tiara, exchange vows.

John Lennon cultivated a rebel image in The Beatles. He freely spoke his mind — about music, art, culture, and celebrities — without worrying about who he offended. That included his bandmates and himself. Lennon said the hit song he gave to The Rolling Stones was just a throwaway; it was their first hit. He may have thought of himself as a rebel, but John’s face turned red when he met royal authority figure Princess Margaret, according to Cynthia Lennon.

The Fab Four brought out the biggest stars in England for the film’s premiere on July 6, 1964, including British royalty. Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth, attended the movie’s debut and the meet-and-greet party afterward.

Prince William and Kate Middleton have been enjoying their new home, Adelaide Cottage, ever since making the move last summer. The four-bedroom dwelling is located within the prestigious Windsor Great Park, a royal domain renowned for its splendor.
Although the estate is a perfect fit for the Prince and Princess of Wales, it actually has a scandalous past within the royal family.

Divorce has historically been a taboo subject in the British royal family, primarily because of the impact it could have on the monarchy’s image. But because the current ruling monarch, King Charles III, had a failed marriage, some might wonder whether royal couples need permission to divorce.
The royal family has looked down on divorce for centuries Princess Diana (1961–1997) and King Charles III | Jayne Fincher/Princess Diana Archive/Getty Images
The Church of England, which is embedded in the monarchy, historically held a traditional stance on divorce. And its rules made it nearly impossible for royals to divorce or marry someone whose previous marriage had ended.
According to Historic UK, the Church of England was established after King Henry VIII split from the Catholic Church because it wouldn’t allow him to annul his marriage to Catherine of Aragon. But the limitations of divorce remained as a reflection of the church’s doctrinal position.

Since the coronation celebration of King Charles III was placed on the royal calendar for May 2023, Charles’ reign has become part of a broader plan to usher in a monarchy steeped in tradition but with more contemporary aspects. However, that doesn’t mean Charles doesn’t have plans to break a longstanding, outdated tradition. His coronation ceremony will do just that in one fundamental way.
King Charles | Tim Graham Picture Library/Getty Images A more active monarchy is likely on King Charles III’s agenda
King Charles III is expected to restore a more active monarchy, reports The Wall Street Journal. Charles will continue to modernize the royal family further to move forward with the United Kingdom’s diversity and current economic troubles.
This will be balanced with the idea of the royal family as a legacy worth continuing. He will also have to represent its continuity while embracing change.

Well according to multiple reports, Camilla is having her gown worked on in secret. But what we do know about her dress is a bit of a surprise because it has connection to the late Princess Diana.

One of the villains of “The Lord of the Rings: The Rings of Power” will look quite different when Season 2 of the epic fantasy Amazon series rolls around. The character was played in Season 1 by “Game of Thrones” alum Joseph Mawle. Hazeldine’s credits include “Peaky Blinders,” “Slow Horses” and “The Sandman” in which he played Barnaby. He’ll next be seen in the Apple TV+ series “Masters of the Air,” a sequel to “Band of Brothers.”

Helena Bonham Carter takes her work very seriously — and her commitment to her performance as Princess Margaret in "The Crown" is proof of it. Before taking over as Margaret from Vanessa Kirby in the third season of Peter Morgan's lush royal drama, the 56-year-old award-winning actress embarked on a personal endeavor. While Bonham Carter knew what it was like to play a member of the British royal family before — the actress played the Queen Mother in the 2010 film "The King's Speech" — to play Princess Margaret in her noteworthy years was no easy feat. Capturing her essence to understand her better was a lengthy process for Bonham Carter.
The actress knew she needed to have a profound understanding of Princess Margaret's life to do the part justice, and she was well aware that the role would be a tricky one. Judging from what the actress has to say, it appears...

“The Crown” is going to take another big filming break between the changing of its royals. Turns out “The Crown” will run for six seasons after all: Netflix revealed Thursday that the royal drama has been renewed for a sixth and final season, six months after the streaming service and series creator Peter Morgan announced that it would be ending with Season 5. And that surprising decision came after Morgan had continuously stated his vision for the drama had always been a six-season run.
“As we started to discuss the storylines for Series 5, it soon became clear that in order to do justice to the richness and complexity of the story we should go back to the original plan and do six seasons,” Morgan said in a statement Thursday. “To be clear, Series 6 will not bring us any closer to present day – it will simply enable us to cover the same period in greater detail.”

Helena Bonham Carter is primarily known for her big-screen roles ranging from her 1985 debut, “A Room With a View,” to being villainous Bellatrix Lestrange in the “Harry Potter” franchise. She was Oscar-nominated as a lead in 1997’s “The Wings of the Dove” and for her supporting role as King George VI’s wife and mother of Queen Elizabeth II and Princess Margaret in 2010’s “The King’s Speech.”
But Bonham Carter has also been lauded for a fair number of her TV efforts as well. In fact, she has received more recognition for her small-screen work at the Golden Globes, with four previous nominations for a miniseries or a TV film: 1993’s “Fatal Deception: Mrs. Lee Harvey Oswald,” 1998’s “Merlin,” 2002’s “Live From Baghdad” and 2013’s “Burton and Taylor.” As for Emmys, her lone win was an International Emmy for her performance in 2009’s “Enid” as British children’s author Enid Blyton.

The third season of “The Crown” premiered Nov. 17, jumping forward a few years into Queen Elizabeth II’s (now played by Olivia Colman) reign. Now following the royal family into the 1960s and ’70s, the Netflix drama sees their rule plagued by a Russian spy in Buckingham Palace, a massive amount of debt that can only be settled by the United States, political turmoil at home with the changing prime ministers and multiple problems related to the mining industry. All of these things actually happened, although Peter Morgan and his team of writers dive deeper into the emotional toll of these events than history has reported.

The second episode of The Crown's third season is titled "Margaretology," and with good reason: it shifts the focus to Queen Elizabeth II's flashier, complicated sister Princess Margaret (now played by Helena Bonham Carter). The princess and her husband, Tony, make a historic visit to the Us in 1965, where they visit the White House, meet President Lyndon Johnson and his wife, and tour several cities. Just like her onscreen tour hit with some snags and controversies, so too did Margaret's real-life tour - but there were some fantastic photo ops along the way too! Ahead, check out some of the pictures from Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon's real tour of the Us alongside their fictional counterparts from The Crown.

Imelda Staunton Hasn’t Been Cast as Queen Elizabeth II for ‘The Crown’ Seasons 5 and 6, Netflix Says
Contrary to reports you might have read, Imelda Staunton has not been cast as Queen Elizabeth II for “The Crown” Seasons 5 and 6, according to Netflix.
“We are currently filming season 4 of The Crown but have not commissioned any further seasons as yet, therefore any news on casting remains pure speculation,” a Netflix spokesperson told TheWrap Thursday.
Earlier Thursday, The Daily Mail reported Staunton would be taking over the role from Olivia Colman, who just made her debut as the British royal monarch in the Netflix drama’s third season, which launched Sunday. Colman — the actress who took over from Claire Foy, star of the show’s first two seasons — will continue to play the queen through the end of Season 4, at which time someone else will need to lead the next two installments.

But just how much of their White House visit was exaggerated for dramatic effect on The Crown?

Let's get one thing straight: Yes, The Crown has a new cast, but it's still the same show about Queen Elizabeth II, the royal family and all that encompasses the crown. "There are great many changes, but there we are. Age is rarely king to anyone, nothing one can do about it, one just has to get on with it," Queen Elizabeth, played by Olivia Colman, says in the new behind-the-scenes featurette below. Claire Foy and her Emmy are out, Olivia Colman and her Oscar are in as The Crown ages up its main cast. Colman is joined by Tobias Menzies as Prince Philip, Helena Bonham Carter as Princess Margaret, Josh O'Connor as Prince Charles, Erin Doherty as Princess Anne, Ben Daniels as Lord Snowdon, Jason...

Buckingham Palace, Kensington Palace, Clarence House - name a royal residence, and Princess Margaret likely lived there over the course of her vibrant royal life. In season three of The Crown, we can expect to see her marriage unravel in Kensington Palace where she lived with Antony Armstrong-Jones (also known as Lord Snowdon) for most of their 18 years as a married couple. Before Snowdon and after, the princess's living arrangements seemed to change nearly as frequently as she slipped on different fabulous dresses for wild nights out.
When her father, George VI, became king after his brother abdicated the throne, Margaret moved with her family to Buckingham Palace. During World War II, she and her sister (and future queen) Elizabeth were sent to the safety of Windsor Castle away from the bombings that made London a dangerous place for the young heirs at the time. After Elizabeth became queen, the...

If you thought Queen Elizabeth and Prince Philip's marriage was dramatic in the first two seasons of The Crown, then just wait until you see what the Netflix drama has in store for Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon in season three. The fiery couple's steamy romance and passionate fights are on full display in the latest trailer, setting up their eventual divorce in 1978. But what brought Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon's marriage to an end? Sadly, the cracks in their relationship were on full display before they even walked down the aisle.
Unbeknownst to Margaret, another woman, Camilla Fry, was expecting Lord Snowdon's baby before they were even married. That scandal actually stayed under wraps until after the princess passed away in 2002. That infidelity was indicative of what was to come for the doomed royals, as they both embarked on extramarital affairs in the years that followed. Season three...

Imagine being married to Queen Elizabeth II's sister, Princess Margaret, and then divorcing her. Then imagine being the woman who married Princess Margaret's ex-husband after being one of his many mistresses. This is what happened with Lord Snowdon, born Antony Armstrong-Jones, and his second wife Lucy Lindsay-Hogg.
After 18 years of marriage Princess Margaret and Lord Snowdon got divorced and soon after he was remarried to Lucy. While their romance began out of scandal - the two were rumored to have been together for four years while he was still married, according to Now to Love - they had a really long marriage . . . until he cheated and she found out.
So, besides being part of one of the most famous royal breakups, who is this Lucy? Well, very little is actually known about Lord Snowdon's second wife, but what we do know is that she had many admirable traits and accomplishments to her name.

The full trailer for The Crown Season 3 is here, and it gives us a glimpse of all the new actors playing the roles we fell in love with in the first two seasons.
The new footage plays out to a cover of Bob Dylan's 1964 folk song "The Time They Are a-Changin'."
As has already been teased, the British royal family is struggling to come to terms with all of the change in the 1960s and '70s.
This puts them on a new path as they try to make sure all of their bases are covered in this ever-changing world.
The state of the problems has also changed with mining strikes and economic crises taking center stage.
The trailer kicks off with the Queen marking the 25th anniversary of her ascension to the throne, but instead of being happy, she's in a reflective mood.

Netflix has released the full trailer for season 3 of “The Crown,” and it’s clear that everything isn’t exactly going swimmingly for Olivia Colman’s Queen Elizabeth II.
Set to a cover of Bob Dylan’s “The Times They Are a Changin’,” the trailer teases that this season the monarchy will have to grapple with a miner’s strike, a feisty Labour Party Prime Minister, and more than a small dose of in-fighting.
“On days like today ask yourself, in the time I’ve been on the throne, what have I actually achieved,” asks Colman’s Queen on the occasion of her Silver Jubilee, commemorating 25 years on the throne.
“This country was still great when I came to the throne, all that’s happened on my watch is the place has fallen apart,” she adds.
The trailer also offers a glimpse at the sisterly rivalry which has evolved between the Queen and Princess Margaret,...

There’s a new queen in town. Netflix dropped the trailer for the third season of “The Crown” Monday, giving fans of the royal drama a preview of what’s to come when Olivia Colman takes over the role of Queen Elizabeth II from Claire Foy.
And while some things have changed for Season 3, including the show’s cast, others, like the building of “frustrations and resentments,” are very much still staples of the series.
In the 2-minute, 20-second trailer, which you can view above, Elizabeth faces the trouble of ruling Britain in the tumultuous 1960s while trying to manage her rocky relationships with her sister Princess Margaret (Helena Bonham Carter) and husband Prince Philip (Tobias Menzies). Add to that the fact her children are grown come Season 3, which means she’ll also be dealing with Prince Charles’ (Josh O’Connor) rebellious ways.

Netflix has released a new teaser trailer for The Crown Season 3 as it features Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II being presented with a new profile photo of her that represents a reflection of the Queens transition from a young woman to… in her own words… “old bat.”
The role of the Queen was previously played by Claire Foy and as you’ll see in this trialer Colman is going to do a wonderful job stepping into the older version of The Queen. The voice, the facial expressions, everything matches up with how Foy portrayed her.

The Crown is back for Season 3 on Netflix, and a new teaser featuring the first footage of Olivia Colman as Queen Elizabeth II has landed.
Released on Friday, the teaser begins with Colman taking over for Claire Foy as the Queen in her mid-40s, attending a meeting with what seems to be top advisers of the throne for the unveiling of the Queen’s updated stamp.
“Everyone is delighted with the new profile, ma’am, which they feel to be an elegant reflection of Her Majesty’s transition from young woman to…” one adviser trails off.
“Old bat?” the Queen jumps in.
The Queen and her adviser reference the many changes that Britain will endure in 1960s and 70s as it faces the Cold War panic and the space age.
“A great many changes. Nothing one can do about it, one just has to get on with it,” declares the Queen.

But never fear, because Olivia Colman is here to soothe any concerns you may have had about the time jump and casting changes. She was a royal and he was a commoner, and it wasn't love at first sight. However, Princess Margaret and photographer Antony Armstrong-Jones, who became the Earl of Snowdon, married in May 1960 - something you know if you watch Netflix's The Crown. Their meeting may not have been noteworthy, but their marriage and their divorce certainly were.
Princess Margaret, the younger sister of Queen Elizabeth II, met Antony, nicknamed Tony, at a dinner party in 1958. Although she seemed drawn to him, it wasn't a romantic draw right away.
"The princess was very amused by Tony, she thought he was full of chat and fun," Anne de Courcy, author of Snowdon: the Biography, said on PBS's Margaret: The Rebel Princess. "At first she thought he was gay and said that he, you know, she sort of dismissed him as the idea of a boyfriend."

The Crown third season climbs back onto the throne on November 17. The British drama launched in December 2017.
Season 3 of The Crown starts in 1964 and will cover the rise of the Beatles and England winning the soccer World Cup in 1966. Characters such as Camilla Parker Bowles will also start to emerge in the coming season.

Netflix has shared the first teaser trailer for The Crown Season 3 and it offers us our first look at Oscar Winner Olivia Coleman as Queen Elizabeth II. It was also revealed that the new season will premiere on November 17th.
Colman takes over the role from Claire Foy, who won a Golden Globe and an Emmy for playing the young queen in Netflix’s drama series. Foy was fantastic in the role, and I’m sure that Colman will deliver a great performance as well.
The first two seasons of the series have been great! The show will chronicle the entire life of Queen Elizabeth II, up to the present day. This next season will take place 20 years into Elizabeth’s reign. It’s explained, “The idea is to do this over six decades in six seasons presumably, and make the whole show [run] over eight to 10 years."
