American Dad is by far one of the best cartoon series to ever hit the mass media market. The story follows through with the random escapades of Stan Smith, who is a conservative Agent who is struggling with family life while trying to keep America safe at the same time. All this action is embellished by various types of entertainment techniques including non-sequiturs, shock value, plot twists and surreal humor. Stan Smith leads the all-American family in this animated sitcom. In some sense, everyday life is taken to the next level as Stan tries to apply the same drastic techniques

While the idea of athleisure started as kind of a joke within the fashion industry, something crafted by beleaguered fashion editors who were tired of hoofing it from one runway show to the next in an array of ankle-breaking stilettos, the trend has shown surprising staying power. Of course, that’s thanks in no small part to the fact that it’s simply the comfiest thing to happen to your wardrobe since Jnco jeans, Crocs, and Abercrombie & Fitch sweatshirts were the look of the moment. And with the rise of this low-key sartorial movement has also come the rise of...

In British Vogue's October 2016 issue, Victoria Beckham gave us a sweet glimpse of her personal life in a way that's delightfully different from just a regular interview. In a letter titled "What I Wish I'd Known," the fashion designer penned a thoughtful message to her 18-year-old self, touching on everything from her insecurities to growing up in the spotlight to the moment she fell in love with husband David. The letter is once again making the rounds online, so see her best quotes below. "Learn more about football, especially the offside rule. And yes, love at first sight does exist. It will happen to you in the Manchester United players' lounge - although you will get a little drunk, so exact details are hazy. Victoria Beckham has been a source of high style inspiration for the past three decades. She made us dream about “little Gucci dresses” during her Posh Spice days in the ’90s. Gave us the inspiration and confidence to chop our hair off and wear our most dangerous heels in the ’00s. And of course, made her incomparable aesthetic easier than ever to copy in this decade with her eponymous fashion line and makeup collaboration with Estée Lauder. But turns out she has some (scratch that, many!) style regrets and just got very candid about about her most infamous fashion phases.

Although most shows are self contained fictional worlds that exist separate from the rest of TV, there are some that actually connect to other shows in pretty unexpected ways.
Sometimes this happens due to the nature of spinoffs. The whole concept here is that the creators take a character from one show and give him his own series which takes place in the same world. So Frasier exists in the same fictional setting as Cheers, with plenty of overlapping characters, but not the same fictional setting as Friends. It’s just like how Iron Man shares a universe with Captain America but not with Batman. In the Frasier universe, Sam Malone and Norm Peterson exist, but Joey Tribbiani doesn’t.
Another way this can happen is through a crossover event, where two shows come together into one. Family Guy and American Dad had a fun crossover in one episode,...

Seth MacFarlane has come to be known for pushing the boundaries of what is and isn’t ok to say. Whether that’s his opinion-dividing stint as host of the Oscars, on his original show Family Guy or on his most underrated show American Dad!, the point is still the same. Yes, some people might find it funny and sometimes clever, but making a joke about domestic violence by calling Django a date movie for Rihanna and Chris Brown is highly inappropriate.
It needs to be said before this article that in no way is the point being missed. It is part of American Dad’s premise that Stan Smith is the caricature of a very close-minded Republican and is a vehicle for writers to satirise the kind of extremist opinions that exist in politics. Most of the time, this works and to hilarious ends as Stan is shown to be a bigoted fool.

Ron Howard's movie about 1970s British swashbucking F1 star James Hunt and his antler-clashing rivalry with the icy Niki Lauda is a fast and furious treat
No matter how obsessed we continue to be with the 1970s, there's always one more myth left to excavate, and this very entertaining and well-made motor racing movie from director Ron Howard and screenwriter Peter Morgan brings us a meaty tale from 1976: a story of antler-clashing, engine-revving alpha-males. This was a year in which not everyone in fact was obsessed with the release of the Sex Pistols' Anarchy in the UK. In the profoundly conservative world of Formula One, millions of TV viewers were increasingly preoccupied with an extraordinary duel developing between two drivers: the glamorous swashbuckler from Britain, James Hunt, and the icily correct Austrian Niki Lauda.

London – An episode of Seth Macfarlane's American Dad featuring a stabbing and other acts of violence has landed pay TV channel FX in hot water with the U.K. media watchdog Ofcom. The show follows the lives of ultra-conservative, staunch Gop supporter and CIA agent Stan Smith (MacFarlane), wife Francine and his eccentric family. "Twas the season of eggnog and juice," the clip begins, before Ebenezer Snoop is visited by various sports figures and celebrities, who lend their voices as the Ghosts of Christmas Past (Stan Smith), Present (David Beckham), and Future (Derrick Rose and Rita Ora). The film also features cameos by Dwight Howard,...

No one knows Dickens quite like Snoop Dogg… er… Lion.
In partnership with Adidas, the rapper-turned-Rastafarian has graced us with a stirring animated rendition of A Christmas Carol. The video, illustrated by Beavis and Butthead’s J.J. Sedelmaier, tells the story of Ebenezer Snoop, a former gadabout who’s lost his holiday mojo. Dickens’ notorious Christmas ghosts — portrayed here, somewhat inexplicably, by sports greats Stan Smith, David Beckham, and Derek Rose — take Snoop to parties throughout time and show him the error of his ways. Rap puns abound (“Bah! Humbizzle!”) and the malt liquor flows like eggnog – imagine the Christmas...

CIA Agent Stan Smith and his crazy clan aren't going away. American Dad has reportedly been renewed for another season on Fox. The network has reportedly ordered 22 installments. Which season will that be? It depends on who you ask.
Created by Seth MacFarlane, American Dad began airing in mid-season 2005. A new group of episodes have aired each year so theoretically it's been on for eight seasons (mid-season 2005, 2005-06, 2006-07, 2007-08, 2008-09, 2009-10, 2010-11, and 2011-12). The Fox website indicates that the current season is season eight as well.
In February 2011 however, Fox announced that the show had been renewed for season seven for the 2012-13 season. Huh? If you look at the calendar seasons, that should be season nine not seven.
It would seem that Fox's press releases use their production orders as their season count. That's...

Shame (20th Century Fox) Director Steve McQueen’s harrowing portrait of a Manhattan sex addict (Michael Fassbender, in the year’s most riveting performance) whose psyche goes into overload when his equally-troubled sister (Carey Mulligan) visits unexpectedly. Exquisitely-made on every level, save for the screenplay, which makes its point after about thirty minutes. While it tries hard to be a modern-day Last Tango in Paris, this fatal flaw makes it fall somewhat short. The much- ballyhooed sex scenes and frontal nudity are the least-interesting things about the film, incidentally, which is still a must-see for discriminating adults who seek out challenging material. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Featurettes. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS-hd 5.1 surround.
Being John Malkovich (Criterion) Spike Jonze’s madcap film of Charlie Kaufman’s script, regarding a socially-disenfranchised puppeteer (John Cusack) who finds a portal into the mind of actor...

Stan Smith has come up with a lot of stupid ideas over the years on 'American Dad' (Sun., 9:30Pm Et on Fox), but this may well be the stupidest. In a nod so deliberate to 'Avatar' they came right out and admitted it, Stan decided to try and spend more time with his son Steve by becoming a teenage girl.
This was after he realized he'd missed every major moment of Steve's life so far and Francine told him that as a teenager, hot girls were all Steve was interested in. So Stan became an avatar, voiced by Sarah Michelle Gellar, in order to hang out with Steve.

I had no intention of reviewing this show. Then I saw it. Now I want revenge.
There is nothing charming, witty or interesting about this show. It’s just one horribly stupid, cringe-inducing moment after another with characters who are truly loathsome and unpleasant.
You’ve probably seen the ads for the show, so you probably know the premise. Seven-year-old Allen Gregory (voiced by Jonah Hill), is a precious twerp who gets sent to school after his father’s boyfriend (Nat Faxon), has to stop homeschooling Allen so he can find a job.
The story follows Allen (who insists on being called Allen Gregory, but I don’t have to play by those rules), as he goes through his first day at school. To say its disastrous is to overlook other words, like horrifying, awful and unwatchable.
Before the day is out, Allen finds himself meeting with the principal,...

Let the battle between who can make the coolest nerd-themed sneaker ensue. Earlier this month, news broke that Nike is actually going to produce the sneaks that Marty McFly wore in "Back to the Future Part II," minus their self-tying feature and attached hoverboard. Of course, the shoes will run you upwards of $5000, but at least it's for a good cause!
Enter Adidas, who is offering a much more affordable pair of kicks themed off another beloved sci-fi franchise. Meet their latest member of the company's "Star Wars" line: Campus 80s Wampa shoes. Yes, that is shaggy, Wampa-fur exterior you see covering them in the above photo.
The sneakers are running for $150, which is about the same price as the rest of the shoes in the line. If you weren't a fan of the ill-fated Yeti-like native of the ice-planet Hoth, then there are still plenty of other options to...

Chicago – The legacy of “The Simpsons” lives on as the show premieres September 25th for its record-holding 23rd season. Afterward, the season premieres of Seth MacFarlane’s cartoon classics – “Family Guy,” “American Dad” and “The Cleveland Show,” are all part of “Animation Domination” on Fox.
It is always interesting to see how the veteran shows challenge themselves on premiere night. Will “The Simpsons” show all the others how it is done? Will the manic, surreal weirdness of “Family Guy” reign? How about the newest kids on the block, “American Dad” and “The Cleveland Show”? Here is quick rundown…

[1] Your stereotypical Star Wars fanatic may not be known for his fashion sense, but in the real world, there are plenty of would-be Jedis who want to look stylish while showing off their geek pride. LucasFilm and Adidas Originals have collaborated in the past to create Star Wars-inspired gear, and their geek-chic partnership continues with a brand-new fall/winter 2011 collection. This time around, the team turned to the ice planet Hoth to create cold weather-appropriate shoes and jackets for the upcoming seasons. Flip through the lookbook after the jump. Spun off some time ago from the better known and generally more accomplished Family Guy, American Dad enters into its sixth season. Stan Smith, a CIA-employed conservative and his wife Francine have two teenage children Hayley and Steve, as well as a grey-skinned alien named Roger and a man trapped in the body of a goldfish, named Klaus. Much hilarity ensues.
*****
Although it is not as strong or consistent a show as Family Guy, American Dad is not without its strengths and it clearly has a good following. Wisely eschewing Family Guy’s now trade-mark flashback/fantasy clips in favour of something a little more conventional, structurally, this sixth season is for the most part a lot of fun.
Tracking the arc of the season as a whole, the better episodes undoubtedly lie towards the beginning, with the mid-point episode Rapture’s Delight a particular high point. That episode finds...

Blow Out (Criterion) Brian De Palma’s greatest Hitchcock homage, with a dash of Antonioni thrown in for good measure. John Travolta gives one of his best turns as a sound-effects engineer who unwittingly records a political assassination, then finds himself hunted by a ruthless hitman (John Lithgow, a memorably creepy psycho) after saving the life of the kindly, albeit dim-witted call girl (Nancy Allen, excellent) who was with the deceased. Terrific blend of suspense and very black humor, perhaps De Palma’s finest hour as an auteur. Beautifully shot by Vilmos Zsigmond. Also available on Blu-ray disc. Bonuses: Interviews with De Palma, Allen, cameraman Garrett Brown; Photo gallery; De Palma’s 1967 feature Murder a la Mod; Trailer. Widescreen. Dolby and DTS-hd 2.0 surround.
Kes (Criterion) Ken Loach’s landmark 1970 film is both a heart-rending portrait of adolescence, and a pointed socio-political commentary on life in the North of England.

['Family Guy' - 'The Hand That Rocks the Wheelchair']
['The Cleveland Show' - 'The Blue, the Gray and the Brown']
Stan Smith must have been called away on some big-time CIA mission because 'American Dad' is off the schedule until the end of the month. Luckily, we still got a solid hour of Uncle Seth's special brand of humor. That meant yet another original song on 'The Cleveland Show' and yet another drawn-out fight on 'Family Guy.'
Still, I thought these were a couple of pretty solid installments. 'Cleveland' took an intelligent look at the issue of slavery and Civil War re-enactments, while 'Family Guy' showed us what would happen if Stewie had no conscience at all. It's not pretty.

I'm not really that into American Dad, I've just never really found it that funny. But I know many of you probably do, so you might be happy to know that Fox has renewed the Seth MacFarlane series for a seventh season.
The animated series is developed over at 20th Century Fox Television, and follows the lives of ultra-conservative, staunch Gop supporter and CIA agent Stan Smith (MacFarlane) and his eccentric family.
The renewal will keep the Emmy nominated series on the network through the 2012-13 season.

It's a good day in Langley Falls for Stan Smith and company because American Dad has been renewed for its 7th season, according to Deadline.com. This has actually been the airing pattern for American Dad all along, since the show's premiere after the Super Bowl in 2005, with each of its seasons usually spread over two broadcast cycles. The 20th TV-produced American Dad, which centers on ultra-conservative,...
