Jim Jarmusch, the indie director behind Broken Flowers and Coffee and Cigarettes, has lined up an impressive cast including Michael Fassbender, Tilda Swinton, Mia Wasikowska and veteran thespian John Hurt to star in a vampire film.
Jarmusch has described the project to Screen Daily as a “crypto-vampire love story” set against the contrasting backgrounds of Detroit and Tangiers.
The film has yet to be given a title, but it will be produced jointly by Jeremy Thomas and Reinhard Brundig through Recorded Picture Company and Pandora Films. HanWay Films will handle international distribution.
Recorded Picture Company CEO Peter Watson and Jarmusch’s business partner Stacey Smith will serve as executive producers.

If anyone can break the currently stale and sparkling mold of vampire flicks, it's independent and uncompromising American filmmaker Jim Jarmusch so we couldn't be more excited about the news that Jarmusch is set to helm a toothy tale starring Tilda Swinton, Michael Fassbender, and Mia Wasikowska as his vampires and John Hurt in a featured role.

The distributor will finance The Limits of Control - a project that will begin filming in Spain in the second month of 08'. Focus distributed the Bill Murray 2005 pic Broken Flowers. Stacey Smith and Gretchen McGowan will produce. Jon Kilik will exec produce.Isaach De Bankole is on board to play a mysterious loner used to operating outside the law, who is about to complete a job in contempo Spain. The film will cast other players more commonly seen on the international level.At this point, Jarmusch doesn't look to be in a hurry to contribute to the Untitled Orsay Museum project a series of films that would celebrate the 20th anniversary of the Musee d'Orsay in Paris. Hou Hsiao-Hsien was the first to contribute to the project with The Flight of the Red Balloon.
