Roku is continuing its lineup of Spanish-language originals with five new series from creators such as Juanpa Zurita and Jaime Camil. But that’s not all. The streaming player-turned-content hub also announced the premiere date for Season 3 of “Un Millón de Gracias” from Jennifer Lopez. Previously titled “Thanks a Million,” this year will mark the series’ first Spanish-language season as a new batch of celebrities give back to the people who have influenced them the most.
Each episode of “Un Millón de Gracias” follows a different celebrity who has been asked to give away $100,000 to someone who has inspired them by being a hero in their community. But once that person has been gifted $100,000, they will have to give away half of it to someone who has inspired them. This season’s celebrities will include Chiquis, Gina Torres, Jaime Camil, Javier “Chicharito” Hernández, Lauren Jauregui, Michael Peña, Michelle Rodriguez, Pau Gasol,...

JoJo Siwa is getting her own Facebook Watch docuseries this summer, Deadline reported on May 19. "JoJo Goes" will showcase a behind-the-scenes look at Siwa's daily life, spontaneous adventures, and loving relationships. It can be easy to categorize reality TV as a guilty pleasure, but if "JoJo Goes" has nearly as much social impact as Siwa's personal platform, the series could be a meaningful watch.
In 2020, Siwa made Time's List of 100 Most Influential People of the Year for her authenticity and positivity. In 2021, she opened up about her sexuality, inspiring many other young people to celebrate their own. Then, she made history on "Dancing With the Stars" for embracing her LGBTQ+ identity and becoming a partner in the first same-sex couple in the show's history. Outside of her romantic relationships, it's clear that she uses every opportunity to showcase her positive attitude, candid personality, and unique style - something that producers can see,...

Lilly Singh returned with her NBC late-night show A Little Late for the first time in eight months.
The Canadian comedian filmed the 1:30am show at a house in LA, making it more topical than season one, with interviews done virtually.
Opening with a sketch about how she would be able to cope without making the show in a traditional studio with a live audience, she joked, “That sounds a lot like YouTube and I don’t know if I have enough experience.”
Season one of A Little Late with Lilly Singh, which ran from September 2019 through May 2020, was filmed in advance, meaning that some of the later episodes aired during the start of the Covid-19 pandemic. She addressed not being on the air in nearly a year. “We thought we were so smart, we’d bank this evergreen content, we can air it whenever, it will always make sense.

The diversity of late-night writers rooms is not a new topic of conversation.
For years, these shows have been accused of being too white and too male, and while that still might be the case, there has been improvement across the board both in terms of gender and ethnicity. Progress is being made, slowly, in the right direction.
So, it was nice to see, earlier this week, that the new team behind the scenes at NBC’s A Little Late with Lilly Singh was incredibly inclusive.
Chelsea Davison, taking over from Sean O’Connor, leads a gender-balanced and diverse writing team of Vannessa Jackson, a former writing apprentice on The Late Show with Stephen Colbert; Sabeeh Jameel, who was a researcher on The Opposition with Jordan Klepper; Romen Borsellino, co-creator of Freeform’s Kal Penn Approves This Message; Nimesh Patel, a former writer for Saturday Night Live who was discovered by Chris Rock; Nelu Handa,...

This is terrific news. Syfy‘s special effects makeup artist competition Face Off is one of the best competition shows currently on TV. Currently in its third season, Syfy has now picked it up for a fourth. Lacking most of the over-hyped drama of some other competition series, Face Off poses interesting weekly challenges and teaches us a great deal about the art of effects makeup. Plus it looks cool.
