A Cowgirl’s Song is a coming-of-age drama that follows an aspiring but adrift teen singer who goes to live with her grandmother, once a country music legend, but has fallen on hard times after the death of her husband five years earlier. Together they overcome adversity and find redemption through their love of music. The pic is written and directed by Timothy Armstrong and marks his return to the series and to filming in Oklahoma a decade after Cowgirls ‘N Angels.

Leading up to the 19th annual Electric Daisy Carnival (Edc), Las Vegas, Insomniac has created a video entitled “#WeAreWideAwake,” aimed at encouraging everyone in the dance music community to look out for one another and help keep live events safe. The video marks the launch of the company’s #WeAreWideAwake initiative, aimed at inspiring awareness of personal and communal health and safety.
The video, which can be seen above, features the Insomniac team and artists including 12th Planet, Afrojack, Arty, Carl Cox, Crizzly, Firebeatz, Martin Garrix, Oliver Heldens, Laidback Luke, and Sunnery James & Ryan Marciano. Robert and Linell Shapiro of the Brent Shapiro Foundation for Drug and Alcohol Awareness also speak out on behalf of their son Brent, who was lost to a drug and alcohol overdose in 2005. The Shapiros created the foundation that same year in honor of their son. The non-profit organization has partnered with Insomniac since 2013.
