- Robert Scipion was born on July 14, 1921 in Bougival, Seine-et-Oise [now Yvelines], France. He was a writer and actor, known for Sam et Sally (1978), Vacances portugaises (1963) and Le retour d'Arsène Lupin (1989). He died on December 1, 2001 in Paris, France.
- He translated, into French, some "romans noirs" by James Hadley Chase, Day Keene, Henry Kane and Wade Miller.
- One of the most accomplished French creators of crosswords (their witty definitions are much praised), he published grids in "Paris Match", "Le Nouvel Observateur" and "Le Canard Enchainé".
