- Helen Schneider came to Europe in 1978 as part of her first European music tour. In 1982 after her album Schneider with the Kick went gold she shared the Golden Europa Award as Artist of the Year with John Lennon and was the first American to receive the International Artist of the Year Award by the German Phono-Academy.
From 1984 to1986 Helen took a break from her musical career to take acting lessons in New York City. She's played numerous roles over the years: Sally Bowles and the MC in Cabaret (Berlin and Bad Hersfeld), Norma Desmond in Andrew Lloyd Webber's German production of "Sunset Boulevard" (Wiesbaden, Bad Hersfeld and Bonn), Eva Péron in "Evita" (Bad Hersfeld), Anne Sexton in "Transformations" (Stuttgart and Vienna), Anna in "Seven Deadly Sins" (Vienna), Mrs. Robinson in "The Graduate" (Hamburg), Victor/Victoria in "Victor/Victoria" (Bremen) and Judy Garland in "End of the Rainbow" (Klagenfurt). In this métier she received the DIVA Award for her outstanding achievements in entertainment.
In addition to her career on stage, Helen has appeared in cinemas in the films "Eddie and the Cruisers" and "Into the Beat" and will be seen again on the large screen next year (2023) in "Electric Child". She has been a guest on numerous television series including the third sequel to the successful ZDF series "Ku'Damm 63".
Helen has always had an interest in painting and drawing privately. In 2019 she illustrated and designed the cover for the first prize winner of the literary contest of the publishing house CBS for "Lenny's Summertime Adventures".
