After catching five hours of shuteye, I headed over to the Fool's Gold Rap Party at the Standard docks. It was a breath of fresh air to get away from the claustrophobic crowds I had experienced so far, as there was a big open space with tons of hispters, DJs and industry types lounging around while listening to Nick Catchdubs, Busy P, Mehdi, A-Trak and Craze. The highlight of the party was making use of the empty...

Far East Movement are living the good life in a music video for their latest single "2gether". They have No. 1 single on Hot 100, go on a party every night, and have their music everywhere from London to Los Angeles to New York to Sydney.
Another band who debut a new music video is The Killers. The clip directed by Jared Hess was filmed to support their new Christmas single "Boots" which is coming out on November 30 and continues their tradition of releasing a holiday song every year.
A duet with Roger Sanchez, "2gether" features Kanobby and is lifted from Far East Movement's debut album "Free Wired". Meanwhile, "Boots" is a non-album single which is released to benefit the Product Red campaign, a charity raising awareness about AIDS in Africa.

It's "Love Shack" all over again. Twenty years after the B-52's went cruising down an Atlanta highway in search of that infamous little love getaway, the party anthem of the late 1980s is back, thanks to house legend Roger Sanchez. It has a fresh new twist and features a little group you might know called Far East Movement. MTV News caught up with Sanchez recently for an exclusive chat about the project.
"I was playing the original version of '2gether' last summertime as one of my exclusive tracks in my sets at 'Release Yo'self' in Ibiza, and the energy and response I got from that was amazing!" Sanchez said." The people from Interscope, specifically Martin Kierszenbaum, said, 'Hey, listen, I've...

McFly are going to be remixed by Roger Sanchez. The 'Song For the Radio' group - who unveiled a new pop-dance influenced sound on their latest album 'Above The Noise' - met the dance superstar at a London hotel in August, and singer Danny Jones said he was instantly reminded of Dallas Austin, who produced tracks on their new LP. He said: "Roger got in touch, so I met him when we were in America. He reminded me a lot of Dallas Austin but with a sentimental side. He's got family and hangs out with his kids, whereas Dallas would be like 'Wahey, let's go out and get some birds. "But he was a lot like Dallas, he wore his...

Chuckie, the DJ/producer behind "dirty Dutch" house hits like "Let the Bass Kick" and the popular remix of David Guetta and Akon's "Sexy Bitch," is among the growing list of electronic dance music hitmakers exporting their brand of "unst-unst" to the States. But he'll make his mark Stateside in a big way as he joins Paul Oakenfold's Facelift Tour this fall.
With a tour schedule that includes more than 50 club dates, famed veteran DJ/producer Oakenfold will lead sets, along with Chuckie, Calvin Harris, DJs/ songwriting sisters Nervo, Sydney Sampson, Roger Sanchez and others.
Chuckie has had acts as diverse as Lmfao, Jermaine Dupri and Lil Jon jump on remixes of "Let the Bass Kick," while his version (with Lil Jon) of "Sexy Bitch" is a dance-floor burner.

This week, Tijs Verwest, known around the world as DJ Tiësto, will be headlining the Ultra Music Festival at the Winter Music Conference 2010 in Miami. Considered primarily a trance music DJ, he remains among electronic music's few heavyweights, frequently commanding audiences of tens of thousands at his club gigs. His recent Kaleidoscope World Tour saw him sell out arenas in England, a feat seldom achieved by a "club DJ." His last show at Ipanema Beach in Brazil drew 250,000 fans. And while one might think that as the reigning king of trance music his Wmc 2010 performance will be just another in a career of hundreds of such shows, it's refreshing to hear that, according to him, he'll also be attending as a fan.

Taio Cruz may not be a household name yet in the United States, but that should change soon. The British pop/R&B singer recently broke a Billboard record when his single "Break Your Heart" (featuring Ludacris) jumped 52 places from its debut position to the #1 spot on the Hot 100 chart.
"With Ludacris, pretty much every track he's ever featured on sounds amazing," Cruz told MTV News. "I gave him a quick call and asked him if he could get on the record, and he recorded it and sent it over. As I expected, there was nothing I needed to change. It sounded perfect."
It's also worth noting that Luda's verse helped Cruz clarify just how to pronounce his first name correctly. "He put my name in there,...
