Born in Cali in 1953 and a month his family moved to the municipality
of from Gachetá (Cundinamarca). He later settled in Medellín and
Bogotá, where he tried to be a seminarian.
An actor of strong characters and that it knew how to directors such as
Jorge Alí Triana and Carlos Duplat. He began as a stage actor at the
age of 16. He studied at the school of dramatic art, belonged to the
Popular theater of Bogotá and participated in several productions of
the National Theatre, among them: the Lady of the Camellias, Rosalba,
the man in black, and Amalia.
But Salazar also was a controversial artist, which caused him problems
with the programmers of television. He was President of the Coordinator
of artists and workers of culture and the Colombian artists circle, he
also participated in several protests against human rights violations.
He married Cristina Salazar in 1980, and had two children. However, he
had to be separated from it three years ago. Currently living with the
Senator of the M-19 Vera Grave.
He starred in movies and TV shows like; Pero sigo siendo el Rey, Cain,
Tiempo de morir, el Cristo de Espaldas and Los Victorinos (1991). He
died in 1992 from a hemorrhage.
