Penelope Featherington and Colin Bridgerton entering into a unique arrangement, J.Lo fighting evil artificial intelligence, the roasting of an NFL legend, a retelling of the invention of the Pop Tart, Brooke Shields and Benjamin Bratt at war and John Mulaney’s six-night live comedy event from Los Angeles are some of the big titles hitting Netflix in May.
Debuting on May 3 is Jerry Seinfeld’s directorial debut, Unfrosted. The comedy legend works both sides of the camera for this humorous feature take on the birth of the Pop Tart. The movie is set in 1963 as breakfast cereal giants Kellogg’s and Post compete to become the first company to create a morning pastry. Melissa McCarthy, Jim Gaffigan and Amy Schumer also star, with Hugh Grant more than likely to steal the whole film with a turn as Tony the Tiger.

This article contains spoilers for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
One of the best parts of Queen Charlotte is the relationship between young Brimsley (Sam Clemmett) and Reynolds (Freddie Dennis). They may struggle to balance their duties to Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifo) and King George (Corey Mylchreest) with their feelings for each other, but they seem happy when we last see them together. During Charlotte and George’s ball celebrating the birth of their first son, Brimsley and Reynolds sneak a dance together in the garden as an orchestral version of “I Will Always Love You” plays in the background. But just as we see them gaze lovingly into each other’s eyes, we are taken back to the Regency Era where an adult Brimsley (Hugh Sachs) dances alone, begging the question: Where is Reynolds?

"Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story" provides us with plenty of new information about the origins of fan-favorite "Bridgerton" characters. Queen Charlotte, King George III, Lady Danbury, and Violet Bridgerton all appear in the miniseries, along with the Queen's ever-loyal right-hand man, Brimsley. Brimsley gets a love story of his own in the past, with the "King's Man" Reynolds, but in the present day, we don't see or hear about Reynolds, sparking plenty of theories about what happened to Reynolds in the intervening decades.
Brimsley and Reynolds's Love Story in the "Queen Charlotte" TV Show
In the TV miniseries, it seems like Brimsley and Reynolds are planning on at least attempting a life together, or as much of one as they can have in that era and in their positions. When it looks like George and Charlotte have reconciled and are planning to stay together (and in the same palace...

Golda Rosheuvel, who plays the older version of Queen Charlotte in both the “Bridgerton” series as well as the new spinoff “Queen Charlotte,” had a vague idea of her character’s backstory when working on the flagship Netflix series, but she credits creator Shonda Rhimes with fully bringing her character out of the shadows.
“It was nothing like Shonda presented, but it was I think it was a lot darker because it’s from the imagination, so it’s distant. It’s kind of in the shadows,” she told TheWrap. “In the scenes in ‘Bridgerton,’ whatever it may be, if it’s a ball or a tea party or a tea thing with Lady Danbury, I always try to think of George at least once so that I have that intimate connection, that personal connection.”

“Bridgerton” fans who’ve binge-watched the prequel spin-off “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story” have been wondering about the fate of one of the series’ characters.
One of the series’ subplots involves the royal footmen of King George (Corey Mylchreest) and Queen Charlotte (India Amarteifio), Brimsley (Sam Clemmett) and Reynolds (Freddie Dennis), who are seen in a romantic relationship.
One scene, in fact, finds the men sharing a bath, with Brimsley predicting that Charlotte and George will grow old together, noting that they too could spend a “lifetime” together as the royals’ servants.

Dearest gentle reader: “Queen Charlotte” has been declared a jewel of Netflix’s spring season.
The “Bridgerton” spinoff had a regal first week of streaming, logging 148.28 million hours viewed on Netflix. The streamer announced the viewership numbers via its weekly Top 10 Global English Language TV Show viewership chart, dated May 1-7, which the good Queen unsurprisingly topped at No. 1; the limited series made that ascension with just four days of viewing, after dropping all episodes May 4.
If every viewer who started “Queen Charlotte” finished it during the week, the show would have received roughly 22 million viewers, according to Netflix’s estimates based on the show’s running time. That means the fictionalized King George’s coronation this weekend was likely watched by fewer people compared to that other coronation going on, although it did manage to surpass Charles and Camilla’s UK ratings at the very least.

Here’s how “Grey’s Anatomy” and “Bridgerton” creator Shonda Rhimes thinks about sex scenes: carefully.
In a recent interview with Entertainment Weekly in support of her just-launched Netflix series “Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story,” the doyen of steamy TV expounded on her philosophy for writing sexy sequences, telling the outlet she really doesn’t “write them any differently,” no matter if they are for broadcast or streaming TV. “I really don’t. I’m kind of a prude,” she said. “So, what I write into the scenes is what I want the audience to get in terms of the character emotion or the character story that’s playing out. I basically write like, ‘This is how we want them to feel.'”
And she’s found plenty of key assistance along the way, including the use of intimacy coordinators on set, of which Rhimes is a major fan. “I’m...

Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story is a Bridgerton spinoff series that shows us how life was in the Ton during the early days of Queen Charlotte and King George’s marriage. We get to see how they meet and fall in love, how her reign leads to social change in the Ton, and how she became the strong and influential Queen that we see in Bridgerton’s first two seasons. But just because this series introduces us to younger versions of familiar characters doesn’t mean that it’s stuck in the past. Queen Charlotte also features an arc set in the “present day” Regency era of the original series that focuses on Charlotte, Lady Danbury, and Violet Bridgerton’s friendship.
Between both eras, Queen Charlotte has a massive cast full of new and familiar faces. If you want to be as up to date on the hot gossip of the ton as Lady Whistledown,...

Bridgerton has been a bonafide hit for Netflix, and we can't wait to watch the upcoming prequel, Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
The streaming service shared a full-length trailer on Thursday, and it showcases the origins of the powerful character on Bridgerton.
Off the bat, the chemistry between Charlotte and George is very present, which bodes well for the series' success.
Also interesting, the love story looks very different from the two already at the center of the main series.

Queen Charlotte is a woman forced into marriage in the full-length trailer for Queen Charlotte: A Bridgerton Story.
“There is reason they wanted me. Why me?” India Amarteifio’s young Charlotte pleads on her way to Buckingham House. “Charlotte, there are worse fates than marrying the King of England,” she’s told.
Throughout the trailer, Bridgerton fans get a look at young versions of several of the characters from the original series, including Lady Agatha Danbury (Arsema Thomas), King George (Corey Mylchreest) and Brimsley (Sam Clemmett). Bridgerton stars Golda Rosheuvel (Queen Charlotte), Adjoa Andoh (Lady Danbury), Ruth Gemmell (Lady Violet Bridgerton) and Hugh Sachs (Brimsley) will reprise their roles in the prequel.
The almost three-minute look at the spinoff (below) also sees Charlotte trying to run away from the marriage and eventually falling in love with the king, as she gets to know him better. “You are breathtaking,” Mylchreest’s King George tells Charlotte.
